and high quality performance.To get the most from your new Answering

System, we suggest that you take a few minutes right now to read through

this instruction manual.

CAUTION: When using telephone equipment, there are basic safety

instructions that should always be followed. Refer to the IMPORTANT

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided with this product and save them for

future reference.

MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS

You need an RJ11 type modular jack, which is the most common

type of phone jack and might look like the one pictured here. If

you don’t have a modular jack, call your local phone company to

find out how to get one installed.

INSTALLING THE BATTERY

In the event of a power loss, a 9-volt alkaline battery (not included) enables

the answering system to retain messages stored in memory.To install the

battery:

1. Remove the battery compartment door on the bottom of the unit by

loosening the screw with a Phillips screwdriver. Lift the door.

2. Connect a fresh 9-volt alkaline battery (not included). The large and

small contacts on the battery clip and the battery will interlock. Once

connected, place the battery inside the battery compartment.

3. Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screw.

NOTE: If the battery is low or not installed, the unit announces “Low Battery” at the end

of your messages.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

• Always disconnect phone cords from the wall outlets before battery

installation or replacement.

• Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.

• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals, unless the

telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.

• Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.

DESKTOP INSTALLATION

1. Plug the coiled cord into the handset. Plug the other end into the jack on

the bottom of the base. Place the handset in the cradle on the base.

2. Plug the line cord into the jack on the bottom of the base. Plug the other

end into a wall jack.

3. Adjust the receiver control switch on the handset to the appropriate

level:

• HI = Highest receiver loudness.

• MID = Receiver loudness is lower.

• NORM = Receiver loudness is lowest.

4. Plug the two-prong end of the AC power supply into an AC outlet and

the other end into the POWER 9V DC jack on the bottom of the unit.The

unit beeps three times and is ready for setup or to answer calls with the

default greeting and settings.

5. Set the RINGER switch on the side of the of the base to the desired

loudness:

• HI = Loudest sound

• LO = Sound will be lower.

• OFF =Telephone will not ring

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION

The phone with digital answering system can be mounted on a wall phone

plate (not included).

1. Plug the phone cord into the phone jack on the bottom of the unit, and

wrap the extra phone line around the bottom of the base. Feed the line

cord through the grooves so that the base area is flat for wall mounting.

2. Connect the other end of the phone line to the modular jack on the wall.

3. Place the handset in the cradle of the base as soon as possible to hang

up the phone.

4. Plug one end of the coiled cord into the handset and the other end into

the jack on the back of the base.

NOTE: Only use the ATLINKS USA, Inc. 5-2498 power supply that was packed

with this unit. Using other power supplies may damage the unit.

5. Slip the mounting holes over the wall plate posts and slide the unit

down firmly into place.

6. Set theTONE/PULSE switch on the side of the handset toTONE for touch-

tone service or PULSE for rotary service.

7. Set the RINGER VOLUME switch as desired.

• HI = Loudest sound

• LO = Sound will be lower.

• OFF =Telephone will not ring

8. The unit is properly installed if you pick up the handset and hear the dial

tone. Otherwise, recheck all installation steps.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOVING THE UNIT:

To move the answering system to a different location in the house, follow

these instructions:

1. Disconnect the phone line or any phones you may have connected to the

unit.

2. Install a battery, if you have not already done so.This will ensure that

your messages are not lost. See “Installing the Battery.”

3. Go to the electrical outlet and unplug the power supply.

4. Move the unit and phone line to the desired location.

5. Plug in the power supply into an electrical outlet.

6. The MESSAGES indicator blinks when new messages are received.

7. Connect all necessary phone lines.

SETUP

RECORDING THE GREETING

Before using your new answering system, you should record a greeting

(the announcement callers hear when the answering system answers a

call). If you don't record a greeting, you will hear a default greeting which

says, "Record message after tone."

When recording the greeting you should be about 6 inches from the unit.

Eliminate as much background noise as possible.

1. Prepare your greeting.

Sample Greeting: Hi, this is (use your name here). I can’t answer the phone right

now, so please leave your name, number, and a brief message after the tone, and I’ll get

back to you. Thanks.

2. Hold down the GREETING button. Record after the tone.

3. Release the GREETING button when you finish.The greeting will

playback automatically.

NOTE: Your recording time should not be less than 2 seconds. Otherwise the unit will

return to the default greeting.

CHANGING THE SETTINGS

This function allows you to change theTime/Day, Rings to Answer, and

Security Code settings.

SETTING THE TIME/DAY

This setting allows you to set the current day and time for theTime/Day

stamp attached to each message.

DAY

1. Press and hold theTIME SET button for three seconds, then release.The

unit announces, “Day (the current day setting) To set day, press NEXT...press

TIME SET to continue.”

2. To change the day, press and release the NEXT or PREVIOUS button

until the desired setting is announced.

3. Press theTIME SET button again to confirm the setting and enter the

Hour menu.

HOUR

1. If you just set and stored the day, skip to step 3. If you haven’t stored

any other settings, press and hold theTIME SET button for three

seconds, then release.

2. Press and releaseTIME SET after the unit announces the current hour

setting (this bypasses the day setting).The unit announces, (the current

hours setting) To set hour, press NEXT...press TIME SET to continue.”

3. To change the hour, press and release the NEXT or PREVIOUS button

until the desired setting is announced.

4. To store the hour, press and releaseTIME SET.The unit confirms the

setting and enters the minute menu.

MINUTES

1. If you have just set and stored the hour, skip to step 3. If you have not

SETTING THE RINGS TO ANSWER

This setting allows you to select the number of times the unit rings before

answering a call.The setting (2, 4,Toll Saver) can be selected with a switch

located on the side of the base unit.

2 Rings - the unit answers after 2 rings

4 Rings - the unit answers after 4 rings

TOLL SAVER

Toll Saver can save you the cost of making a call when you access your

messages from another phone:

• If you have new messages, the unit answers after the 2nd ring.

• If you have no new messages, the unit answers after the 5th ring.

You can hang up after the 3rd ring and save the pay telephone or long

distance charge.

INCOMING MESSAGE LENGTH

The maximum length of time allowed for recording incoming messages is

two minutes.

SETTING THE SECURITY CODE

This setting allows you to change the factory-set default security code

used to access your answering system from a remote location.The default

code is 123.

1. Press and hold SECURITY SET (ANSWERER ON/OFF) for three seconds,

then release.

2. The unit announces, “Security code ( the current security code) To set security

code, press NEXT...press SECURITY SET (ANSWERER ON/OFF) to continue.”

3. To change the first security code number, press and release the NEXT or

PREVIOUS buttons until the desired setting is announced.The unit

announces all three numbers, but only the first number will change.

4. To store the first number, press and release the SECURITY SET

(ANSWERER ON/OFF) button.The unit announces, “Security code ( the

current security code) To set security code, press NEXT...press SECURITY SET

(ANSWERER ON/OFF) to continue.”

5. To change the second and third numbers, repeat steps 3 and 4. After the

third number is stored, the unit announces all the stored settings.

NOTE: To exit without setting the security code, press and release the SECURITY SET

(ANSWERER ON/OFF) button twice. The unit announces the previous setting.

ANSWERING SYSTEM OPERATION

ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

Use the sliding switch on the side of the base to increase or decrease the

volume.

ANSWER ON/OFF INDICATOR

The answering system ON/OFF indicator lets you know whether or not

your answering system is on or off. When the answering system is off, it

answers calls after the 10th ring but does not play a greeting.The

answering system doesn’t take messages when it is off.

MESSAGES INDICATOR

The MESSAGES indicator lets you know when you have new or old

messages.

•

Indicator is on

The answering system is ON, but there is no

new message.

•

Indicator is off

The answering system is turned off, but you

might still have a message

•

Indicator is flashing slowly There are new messages

Indicator flashes rapidly.

Memory is full

NOTE:

1. An old message is one that has been listened to completely, not including the time/

day stamp. A new message is one that HAS NOT been listened to completely.

2. When the answering system is off, it answers calls after 10 rings but doesn’t play the

greeting. The answering system doesn’t take messages when it is off.

PLAYING MESSAGES

You may play back old or new messages.To hear all messages, including

new messages, press and release the PLAY button.

• To playback messages, press and release the PLAY button.

• To stop playback, press and release the STOP button.

• To repeat the message, press and release the PREVIOUS button.

• To go back to the beginning of a previous message, press and hold the

PREVIOUS button.

• To skip to the beginning of the next message, press and release the

NEXT button.

• To erase a message while it is playing, press and release the ERASE

button.The answering system announces, “Message Erased” to confirm

the message has been erased.

ERASING ALL MESSAGES

When the answering system isn’t playing or recording messages, press

and hold the ERASE button until you hear the “All Messages Erased”

announcement. If you do not have any messages, the unit will announce,

“Zero Messages.”

NOTE: New messages must be heard from beginning to end , including the time/day

stamp, before they can be erased.

LEAVING A MEMO

Press and hold the MEMO button. Record your message after the

announcement and the beep are heard. Release the MEMO button when

you're finished talking.The unit treats the memo as a message, and the

MESSAGES indicator (PLAY/NEXT button) will flash.

2-WAY RECORD

To record a phone conversation, press and release the MEMO button.

Press the MEMO button again or the STOP button when finished. A phone

must be off the hook to record.The unit treats the 2-way recorded conver-

sation as a message, and the MESSAGES indicator (PLAY/NEXT button)

will flash.

SCREENING CALLS (AUTO DISCONNECT FEATURE)

You can screen incoming calls by listening as the caller leaves a message.

If you want to talk to that caller, pick up any extension phone.

REMOTE ACCESS

You can access your answering system from any touch-tone phone by

entering your 3-digit security code (the default security code is 123, but

you can change it.) Be aware that remote functions do not work with rotary

or push-button, pulse-dialing phones.You can cut out the wallet-size

remote card on page 37 so you will have the touch-tone commands when

you're picking up messages from another location.

TO ACCESS YOUR ANSWERING SYSTEM

1. Call your telephone number.

2. After you hear the beep that follows the greeting, enter your 3-digit

security code.To bypass the greeting, you can enter your 3-digit security

code any time while the greeting is playing.

3. The unit plays the remote menu after the correct security code has been

entered. Menu selections can be made while the menu is playing.

NOTE: The unit answers on the 10th ring if the unit is turned off or the memory is full.

To access the answering system, enter the 3-digit security code after the beeps. If

memory is full, playback your messages and erase some of them to restore memory. If

the answering system is off, press 2 to turn it on.

NOTE: After the unit plays the remote menu, it will wait 10 seconds for a command. If a

command is not entered, the unit disconnects.

TELEPHONE BASICS

SETTING THE RINGER VOLUME

The RINGER switch is located on the side of the base. Set it to HI, LO, or

OFF.

REMEMBER: If you want the phone to ring, the RINGER switch must be set to HI or

LO or the phone will not ring for incoming calls.

SETTING THE HANDSET VOLUME

Use the VOL switch on the side of the handset to adjust the handset

volume.

TONE/PULSE DIALING

Set theTONE/PULSE switch on the side of the handset toTONE if you have

touch-tone service or PULSE if you have rotary service.

TEMPORARY TONE DIALING

If you have Pulse (rotary) service, and want to access customer calling

services that requireTone dialing, such as getting information from a local

bank, you can use this feature.

1. Press the tone button ( * ) after you have connected to the service to

enableTone dialing.

2. When you hang up, the phone automatically returns to Pulse dialing

mode.

FLASH

Press the FLASH button instead of using the hook switch to activate

customer calling services such as call waiting or call transfer, which are

provided by your local phone company.

REDIAL

You may redial the last number you called by pressing the REDIAL button

after you hear a dial tone.

NOTE: The Redial feature hold the last phone number you dialed in memory (as many

as 32 digits). If you pressed any number (for example, when accessing a voice-menu

system), those numbers are also redialed.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

NO DIAL TONE

• Check all cabling to make sure that all connections are secure and not

damaged.

• Check hook switch: Does it fully extend when handset is lifted from

cradle?

PHONE DOES NOT DIAL OUT

• Check the dial mode in the set up menu. Is it set toTONE, which may not

be compatible with your local dialing service?

PHONE DOES NOT RING

• Is the ringer switch in the OFF position?

• Are you using too many phones on one line?

• Is the hook switch depressed fully when the handset is in the cradle?

• Perform the checks under the “No DialTone” section above.

INCOMING AND OUTGOING VOICE VOLUME LOW

• Are other phones off the hook at the same time? If so, this is a normal

condition as volume drops when additional phones are used at once.

TONE FEEDBACK FLUTTER WHEN DIALING IN PULSE MODE

• This is normal as power is fluctuating with phone outpulsing.

DOESN’T ANSWER OR ANSWERS ON 10TH RING

• Make sure the unit it turned on.

• Memory is full, erase some messages.

• Check the AC power supply and phone line connections.

INCOMING MESSAGES ARE INCOMPLETE

•

Was an extension picked up during message recording?

•

The caller left a message that is longer than the allowable message

length.

•

Memory is full.

• You accidentally pressed STOP button when you were playing the

messages.

WON’T RESPOND TO REMOTE COMMANDS

• You must use a touch-tone phone.

• You must enter the correct security code.

• Did the unit hang up? If you take no action for a period of time, the unit

automatically hangs up.

ANSWERER DOESN’T WORK

• Unplug the power supply cord from the electrical outlet and plug it back

in to reset the unit. If that doesn’t work, unplug the power supply cord

from the back of the unit and plug it back in again to perform a complete

reset.

CAN’T HEAR MESSAGES

• Adjust volume control.

UNIT ANNOUNCES BATTERY LOW

• Install a new 9-volt alkaline battery.

MESSAGES INDICATOR FLASHES RAPIDLY

• Memory is full. Erase some messages.

GREETING CONTINUES TO PLAY EVEN AFTER AN EXTENSION PHONE IS

PICKED UP

• This is normal operation. Auto disconnect is delayed for 2 seconds after

the unit answers a call. If you are near the unit, press the STOP button to

stop the greeting.

GENERAL PRODUCT CARE

To keep your answerer working and looking good, follow these guidelines:

• Avoid putting it near heating appliances and devices that generate

electrical noise (for example, motors or fluorescent lamps).

• DO NOT expose to direct sunlight or moisture.

• Avoid dropping answerer and/or other rough treatment.

• Clean with a soft cloth.

• Never use a strong cleaning agent or abrasive powder because this will

damage the finish.

• Retain the original packaging in case you need to ship it at a later date.

INFORMACIÓN DEL REGISTRO A LA FCC

Su equipo telefónico de la ha sido registrado con la Comisión Federal de Comunicaciones (FCC) y está en acuerdo con las

Al fondo de este equipo Ud. hallará un rótulo indicando, entre otra información, el número de la Registración con la

INTRODUCCIÓN

Su Sistema de Contestador Digital está diseñado para darle flexibilidad de

uso y la más alta calidad de funcionamiento. Para aprovechar al máximo

su nuevo sistema de contestador digital, le sugerimos que se tome unos

minutos ahora mismo para leer este manual de instrucciones.

CUIDADO: Cuando utilice equipo telefónico, hay instrucciones básicas de

seguridad que siempre deben seguirse. Refiérase a la guía de

REQUISITOS DE CONEXIÓN

Para conectar el teléfono se necesita un enchufe modular RJ11,

que es el tipo de enchufe más común y se parece al ilustrado. Si

usted no tiene este tipo de enchufe, llame a su compañía

telefónica local para preguntar cómo conseguirlo.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA

En caso de un corte de corriente, una batería alcalina de 9 voltios (no

incluida) le permite al sistema de contestador retener mensajes

almacenados en la memoria. Para instalar la batería:

1. Quite la puerta del compartimento de la batería en la parte de abajo del

aparato aflojando el tornillo con un destornillador Phillips. Levante la

puerta.

2. Conecte una batería alcalina nueva de 9 voltios (no incluida). Ambos

contactos grandes y pequeños del compartimento se conectarán con los

de la batería. Una vez conectada, coloque la batería dentro del

compartimento de la batería.

3. Vuelva a colocar la puerta del compartimento y apriete el tornillo.

NOTA: Si la batería está baja o no está instalada, el aparato anuncia “Low Battery” (Baja

Batería) al final de sus mensajes.

INSTALACIÓN

CUIDADO:

• Siempre desconecte los cables telefónicos de los enchufes de pared antes

de instalar o cambiar la batería.

• Nunca instale el cableado del teléfono durante una tormenta de

relámpagos.

• Nunca toque alambres telefónicos o terminales que no estén aislados, a

menos de que la línea telefónica haya sido desconectada en la interfaz de

la red.

• Sea cuidadoso cuando instale o modifique líneas telefónicas.

INSTALACIÓN SOBRE SUPERFICIE PLANA

1. Conecte el cable espiral en el auricular. Conecte el otro extremo del

cable en el enchufe localizado en la parte de abajo de la base. Coloque el

auricular en su sitio sobre la base.

2. Conecte el cable de línea telefónico en el enchufe localizado en la parte

de abajo de la base. Conecte el otro extremo del cable en un enchufe de

pared.

3. Ajuste el selector de volumen de la bocina en el auricular al nivel de

volumen deseado:

• “HI” = El nivel de volumen más alto.

• “MID” = Nivel de sonido más bajo.

• “NORM” = El nivel de sonido más bajo.

4. Conecte el del cable de corriente AC con los dos dientes de contacto en

un enchufe de corriente AC de pared, y el otro extremo en el enchufe

marcado “POWER 9V DC”, localizado en la parte de abajo del aparato. El

aparato emite tres tonos indicando que está listo para ser programado o

para contestar llamada con el saludo y las programaciones de fábrica.

5. Ajuste el selector de volumen del timbre (“RINGER”) localizado al

costado del aparato al nivel de volumen deseado:

• “HI” = El nivel de volumen más alto

• “LO” = Nivel de sonido más bajo

• “OFF” = El teléfono no timbrará

INSTALACIÓN SOBRE PARED

Su teléfono con sistema de contestador digital puede ser montado sobra

una pared con una placa de montaje (no incluida).

1. Conecte el cable telefónico en el enchufe localizado en la parte de abajo

del aparato, y enhebre el exceso de línea telefónica en la parte de abajo

de la base. Alimente el cable de la línea a través de las ranuras para que

la base quede plana y lista para ser montada.

2. Conecte el otro extremo de la línea telefónica en el enchufe modular de

pared.

3. Coloque el auricular sobre su sitio en la base del aparato tan pronto

como sea posible para colgar el teléfono.

4. Conecte un extremo del cable espiral en el auricular y el otro extremo en

el enchufe en la parte posterior del teléfono.

5. Deslice los agujeros para montaje sobre los postes de la placa y empuje

el aparato hacia abajo a que entre en su sitio.

6. Coloque el selector de tono/pulso (“TONE/PULSE”) en el costado del

auricular en la posición de tono (“TONE”) para servicio de tono (“touch-

tone”), o de pulso (“PULSE”) para servicio rotatorio.

7. Coloque el selector de volumen del timbre (“RINGER VOLUME”) de la

base en la posición de volumen deseada.

• “HI” = El sonido más alto.

• “LO” = El sonido será más bajo.

• “OFF” = El teléfono no timbrará.

8. El aparato está adecuadamente instalado si usted levanta el auricular y

escucha el tono de marcar. Si no lo escucha, vuelva a verificar los pasos

para la instalación.

INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES PARA MOVER EL CONTESTADOR

Para mover el contestador a una localización diferente dentro de la casa,

siga las siguientes instrucciones:

1. Desconecte la línea telefónica o los teléfonos que pudiera tener

conectados al aparato.

2. Instale la batería si es que todavía no lo ha hecho. Con esto se asegura

que sus mensajes no se pierdan. Vea la sección “Instalación de la

Batería”.

3. Vaya al contacto eléctrico y desconecte el cable de corriente.

4. Mueva el aparato y la línea telefónica a la localización deseada.

5. Conecte el cable de corriente en un enchufe eléctrico.

6. El indicador de mensajes (“MESSAGES”) muestra el número de

mensajes recibidos.

7. Conecte las líneas telefónicas necesarias.

PROGRAMACIÓN

PARA GRABAR EL SALUDO

Antes de usar su nuevo sistema de contestador, usted debe de grabar un

saludo (el anuncio que la persona que llama escucha cuando su sistema

de contestador contesta una llamada). Si usted no graba un saludo, las

personas que llaman escucharán el saludo por omisión (pre-programado

de fábrica) que dice, “Grabe su mensaje después del tono”.

Cuando grabe el saludo, usted debe estar aproximadamente a 6 pulgadas

del aparato. Elimine tanto ruido de fondo como le sea posible.

1. Prepare su saludo.

Ejemplo de un saludo: Hola, habla (use su nombre aquí). No puedo contestar el

teléfono en este momento, pero por favor deje su nombre, número de teléfono y un mensaje

breve después del tono, y yo le llamaré más tarde. Gracias.

2. Sostenga oprimido el botón de saludo (“GREETING”). Grabe su mensaje

después del tono.

PARA PROGRAMAR TIMBRES PARA CONTESTAR

Esta programación le permite seleccionar el número de timbres antes de

que el aparato conteste una llamada. La programación (2, 4 o Ahorrador

de Cargos) puede ser seleccionada con un selector localizado al costado

de la base del aparato.

2Timbres- El aparato contesta después de dos timbres

4Timbres- El aparato contesta después de cuatro timbres

AHORRADOR DE CARGOS

El Ahorrador de Cargos puede ahorrarle el costo de hacer una llamada

cuando usted tiene acceso a sus mensajes desde otro teléfono.

• Si usted tiene mensajes nuevos, el aparato contestará después del

segundo (2o.) timbre.

• Si usted no tiene mensajes nuevos, el aparato contestará después del

quinto (5o.) timbre.

Usted puede colgar después del tercer (3er) timbre y ahorrase el cargo del

teléfono público o de larga distancia.

DURACIÓN DEL MENSAJE ENTRANTE

El máximo tiempo de duración de permitido para grabar mensajes

entrantes es de dos minutos.

PARA PROGRAMAR EL CÓDIGO DE SEGURIDAD

Esta programación le permite cambiar el código de seguridad

programado de fábrica que se usa para tener acceso a su sistema de

contestador desde una localización remota. El código de seguridad

programado de fábrica es 123.

1. Oprima y sostenga el botón para programación del código de seguridad

(SECURITY SET “ANSWERER ON/OFF”) durante tres segundos y

después suelte.

2. El aparato anuncia “Security code” (la programación actual del código) “To set

security code, press “NEXT”…press SECURITY SET “ANSWERER ON/OFF” to

continue” (para programar el código de seguridad oprima “NEXT”, oprima

OPERACIÓN DEL SISTEMA DE CONTESTADOR

PARA AJUSTAR EL VOLUMEN

Utilice el selector localizado al costado del aparato para aumentar o

disminuir el volumen.

INDICADOR DE ACTIVADO/DESACTIVADO DEL CONTESTADOR

El indicador “ON/OFF” del sistema de contestador le permite saber si su

sistema de contestador está activado o desactivado. Cuando el sistema de

contestador está desactivado, contesta las llamadas después del décimo

(10o.) timbre, pero no reproduce el saludo. El sistema de contestador no

toma mensajes cuando está desactivado.

El indicador de mensajes (“MESSAGES”) le hace saber cuando tiene

mensajes nuevos o viejos.

2. Cuando el contestador está desactivado, contesta una llamada después del décimo

(10) timbre, pero no reproduce el saludo. El contestador no toma mensajes cuando está

desactivado.

PARA BORRAR TODOS LOS MENSAJES

Cuando el contestador no está reproduciendo o grabando mensajes,

oprima y sostenga el botón “ERASE” hasta que usted escuche la

indicación “All Messages Erased” (Todos los Mensajes se han Borrado). Si

usted no tiene ningún mensaje, el aparato anunciará “Zero Messages”

(Cero Mensajes).

NOTA: Los mensajes nuevos deben ser escuchados de principio a fin, incluyendo la

PARA DEJAR UN RECADO

PARA GRABAR EN FORMA BI-DIRECCIONAL

Para grabar una conversación telefónica, oprima y suelte el botón

“MEMO”. Oprima nuevamente el botón “MEMO” o el botón “STOP”

cuando haya terminado. Un teléfono debe estar descolgado para grabar. El

aparato trata esta grabación bi-direccional como si fuera un mensaje, y el

indicador de mensajes (“MESSAGES”) (botón “PLAY/NEXT”) parpadeará.

PARA FILTRAR LLAMADAS (FUNCIÓN DE AUTO DESCONECTAR)

Usted puede filtrar llamadas entrantes escuchando mientras la persona

que llama deja su mensajes. Si usted quiere hablar con esa persona,

ACCESO REMOTO

Usted puede tener acceso a su sistema de contestador desde cualquier

teléfono con modalidad para marcar por tono en otra localización,

simplemente inscribiendo su código de seguridad de 3 dígitos (el código

programado de fábrica es 123, pero usted puede cambiarlo). Observe que

las funciones remotas no sirven con teléfonos de pulso o rotatorios. Usted

puede recortar la tarjeta tamaño cartera con las funciones del control

remoto localizada en la página 37 para que usted tenga todos los

comandos cuando está recogiendo sus mensajes desde otra localización.

CÓMO TENER ACCESO A SU CONTESTADOR:

1. Llame a su número telefónico.

2. Después de que usted escucha el bip que le sigue al saludo, inscriba su

código de seguridad de 3 dígitos. Para saltarse el saludo, usted puede

inscribir su código de seguridad de 3 dígitos en cualquier momento

mientras el saludo se está reproduciendo.

3. El aparato reproduce el menú de control remoto después de que el

código de seguridad correcto se ha inscrito. Las selecciones del menú

pueden hacerse mientras se reproduce el menú.

NOTA: El aparato contesta al décimo (10) timbre cuando está desactivado o la memoria

está llena. Para tener acceso al contestador, inscriba los 3 dígitos de su código de

seguridad después de los tonos. Si la memoria está llena, reproduzca los mensajes y

borre algunos de ellos para recuperar memoria. Si el contestador está desactivado,

oprima el 2 para activarlo.

NOTA: Después de que el aparato reproduce el menú de funciones remotas, se espera

10 segundos para recibir un comando. Si no recibe ningún comando, el aparato se

desconecta.

FUNCIONES BÁSICAS DEL TELÉFONO

PARA PROGRAMAR EL VOLUMEN DEL TIMBRE

El selector del timbre (“RINGER”) está localizado a un costado de la base.

Se puede programar a tres niveles: “HI”, “LO”, u “OFF”.

RECUERDE: Si usted quiere que el teléfono timbre, el selector del timbre (“RINGER”)

debe estar programado en “HI” o “LO” para que el teléfono timbre cuando entran

llamadas.

PROGRAMACIÓN DEL VOLUMEN DEL AURICULAR

Utilice el selector de volumen (“VOL”) al costado del auricular para ajustar

el volumen del auricular.

PARA MARCAR POR TONO/PULSO

Coloque el selector de tono/ pulso (“TONE/PULSE”) al costado del

auricular en “TONE” si usted tiene servicio por tono, o en “PULSE” si

usted tiene servicio rotatorio.

FUNCIÓN DE TONO TEMPORAL

Si usted tiene servicio de pulso (rotatorio), y quiere tener acceso a los

servicios al cliente que requieren servicio para marcar por tono –TONE-

(touch-tone), como para obtener información de un banco local, usted

puede utilizar esta función.

1. Oprima el botón de tono (“*”) después de que usted se ha conectado al

servicio, para habilitar la función de marcar por tono.

2. Cuando usted cuelga, el teléfono regresa automáticamente a la

modalidad de servicio para marcar de disco (rotatorio).

BOTÓN PARA SERVICIOS (“FLASH”)

Oprima el botón “FLASH” en lugar del gancho para colgar para activar los

servicios telefónicos personalizados como el “call waiting” (llamada en

espera) o “call transfer” (transferencia de llamada), que son disponibles a

través de su compañía telefónica local.

PARA VOLVER A MARCAR (“REDIAL”)

Usted puede volver a llamar al último número que usted marcó,

SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

NO HAY TONO DE MARCAR

• Verifique todo el cableado para asegurarse de que todas las conexiones

están firmemente aseguradas y no dañadas.

EL VOLUMEN DE VOZ EN LAS LLAMADAS ENTRANTES COMO EN LAS

SALIENTES ESTÁ MUY BAJO

• ¿Están otras extensiones descolgadas al mismo tiempo? Si es así, esta

es una condición normal porque el volumen disminuye cuando más

extensiones se usan al mismo tiempo.

EL TONO DE RE-ALIMENTACIÓN PALPITA MIENTRAS SE MARCA EN

MODALIDAD ROTATORIA

• Esto es normal porque la energía fluctúa mientras el teléfono pulsa.

NO CONTESTA, O CONTESTA EN EL DÉCIMO (10) TIMBRE

• Asegúrese de que el contestador esté activado.

• La memoria está llena, borre algunos mensajes.

• Verifique que haya corriente AC y verifique las conexiones de los cables

telefónicos.

LOS MENSAJES ENTRANTES ESTÁN INCOMPLETOS

• Usted debe utilizar un teléfono de tono (touch-tone).

• Usted debe inscribir el código de seguridad correcto.

• ¿El aparato colgó? Si usted no oprime ningún botón durante un período

de tiempo, el aparato cuelga automáticamente.

EL CONTESTADOR NO FUNCIONA

• Desconecte el cable de corriente del enchufe eléctrico y vuelva a

conectarlo para re-programar el contestador. Si eso no funciona,

desconecte el cable de corriente de la parte posterior del aparato y

vuelva a conectarlo para llevar a cabo la re-programación completa.

CUIDADO GENERAL DEL PRODUCTO

Para mantener su contestador funcionando bien y con buena apariencia,

auricular en el futuro.
