Safety Information
Please take these safety precautions under the following conditions:
1. Servicing the vehicle
When servicing (i.e. changing the oil, washing your car) your automobile, the
CompuStar system should be in Valet Mode. There is a safety shutdown switch
under the hood that deactivates the remote starter function if the hood is open.
However, if the switch has been damaged or the switch has been installed
improperly, the vehicle may start when Button II is pressed for 2 seconds even if
the hood is open.
2. Loaning your vehicle to others
Whenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not familiar with
Compustar, please put the vehicle in Valet mode. This will prevent the vehicle
loaner from accidentally activating the CompuStar auto-security system.
3. For manual transmission vehicles
If the Compustar 2WSSR is installed in a manual transmission vehicle, extra
precautions are required because the Compustar does not monitor the gear shift:
Important! Under normal circumstances, Reservation Mode is cancelled when a
door or hatchback opens. Please verify if the opening of any door or hatchback
cancels Reservation Mode. If any of the doors or hatchback is not monitored by
CompuStar because of improper installation or a faulty dome light switch, do not
use the CompuStar and take your vehicle to the dealer immediately for repair.
Do not set Reservation Mode when the window(s) are open or if there is anyone
inside of the vehicle including animals.

OPTIONAL PROGRAMMABLE FEATURES
These additional programmable features can be programmed to the CompuStar
system by your authorized CompuStar dealer.
Ignition Lock
Automatic Transmission Vehicle: This programmable option enables your vehicle
to automatically lock the doors upon starting the vehicle with a key. In addition,
the vehicle will automatically unlock the doors upon pulling the key out from the
ignition. This option must be chosen at the time of installation.
Manual Transmission Vehicle or Turbo Mode: This programmable option will
locks the doors in 5 seconds after starting the vehicle with a key and the
emergency brake is released.

You can turn this function on or off by pressing Button I for 2 seconds.
When set to Auto arming, your security system will arm automatically after all the
car doors are closed, your remote is away from the vehicle by more than 50 to
100 ft and 15 seconds have passed since the last Auto Disarm. Your system
will disarm automatically if your remote comes within 50 to 100 ft radius from the
vehicle. You have an option for Auto Arming without Auto Lock by option
programming. Consult your installer for this programming. Please read the next
paragraph for the interaction between Auto Arming and Passive Arming.
Passive Arming
You can turn this function on or off by pressing Buttons (II+III) for a ½ second.
When set to passive arming, your security system will arm automatically 30
seconds after all the car doors are closed. There are two types of passive arming
that can be programmed by your CompuStar dealership: (1) passive arming with
passive lock and (2) passive arming with active lock.

Passive locking means the door will lock when the system passively arms. In the
default factory setting, the system is armed and locked actively, which means the
system will only arm/lock when the remote-pager is utilized.
Note:
1. If you select both Auto Arming and Passive Arming, Auto
Arming takes priority over Passive Arming.
2. If you select Passive Arming with Active Lock in the
programming option, you are also selecting Auto Arming
without Auto Lock. Consult your installer.
Turbo Mode
If this optional Turbo Mode has been programmed at the time of installation,
you can turn this feature on and off by pressing Buttons (III+IV) for a ½ second.
Under this mode, engine continues running for 2 minutes after key has been
taken out from the ignition if emergency brake was on when the key is taken out.
To utilize this mode, the emergency brake sensing wire has to be connected to
the emergency brake wire of the vehicle. Consult the authorized dealer for this
mode.
OPTIONAL INSTALLATION FEATURES
The CompuStar 2WSSR remote-pager has additional features and expansion
possibilities that require additional parts and labor.
Cold Start Mode
If the optional temperature sensor has been installed, Timer Start Mode
becomes Cold Start Mode. Under this mode, your car automatically starts if the
temperature of the inside of the vehicle goes below the preset temperature. The
minimum interval between the starts will be 1.5 or 3.0 hours depending on preset
options during the time of installation. Cold Start Mode is activated or deactivated
by pressing Buttons (II+IV) for a ½ second.
