Decanter Use and Care
Follow the instructions below to reduce or eliminate the chance of breaking
the decanter:

This decanter is designed for use with your MR. COFFEE® coffeemaker and therefore
must never be used on a rangetop or in any oven, including a microwave oven.
•

Do not set a hot decanter on a wet or cold surface.
Do not use a cracked decanter or a decanter having a loose or weakened handle.
Do not clean the decanter with abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads or
other abrasive materials.
•

Discard the decanter immediately if it is ever boiled dry.
Protect the decanter from sharp blows, scratches or rough handling.
Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove
any service covers. There are no user serviceable parts
inside the coffeemaker. Only authorized personnel
should repair the coffeemaker.
Special Cord Set Instructions
1. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
2. An extension cord may be purchased and used if care is exercised in its use.
3. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord
must be at least 10 amps and 120 volts. The resulting extended cord must be
arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can
be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

Setting Up Your Coffeemaker
Congratulations on the purchase of your new MR. COFFEE® coffeemaker! Please read
these instructions carefully before using your new coffeemaker. Proper use, care and
maintenance will ensure trouble-free operation and the long life of this appliance.
Save these instructions for cleaning and, if necessary, replacement parts information.
Coffeemaker Features
Your new MR. COFFEE® coffeemaker has the following features:

10-Cup Brewing Capacity
1- to 4-Cup Small Quantity Setting – Allows you to set your coffeemaker to brew
up to four cups of quality coffee. It also allows you to adjust the strength of your
coffee while it is brewing 8 to 10 cups in order to meet your taste preference.

Cord Storage – Allows you to store extra cord length for a tidy countertop.
Drip-Free Decanter – Designed to help prevent drips after pouring.

to remove a filter and ground coffee before returning back to its socket.

to the surface of the warming plate.
Pause ’n Serve – Can’t wait for the coffee to finish brewing? The Pause ’n Serve
feature allows you up to 30 seconds to pour a cup of coffee while the coffee
is still brewing.

Programmable Controls (Programmable Models Only)
– Clock: The LED clock serves as a handy kitchen clock, and also allows you
to set the timer.
– Timer: Would you like to wake up to a fresh pot of coffee? The timer
allows you to preset when you would like the coffeemaker to brew
your coffee automatically, up to 24 hours in advance.
– Two-Hour Auto Shut-Off: This safety feature keeps your coffee warm
for 2 hours after you brew, then automatically turns off.

Programmable Plus Controls (ESX30 and ESX33 Coffeemakers Only)
– Special Cleaning Cycle: Enables you to easily maintain and clean your coffeemaker.
– Adjustable Temperature Warming Plate: Allows you to vary the temperature
that you wish to maintain for your coffee once it has finished brewing.
– Audible Ready Signal: Beeping sound allows you to know when your coffee
is done brewing.

Adjusting the Power Cord Length
You can customize the length of the power cord
so that it is the exact length you desire.
To increase the length of the power cord:
Grasp the power cord (not the power plug)
and gently lift it out of the slot, then pull it
away from the coffeemaker.
To decrease the length of the power cord:
Grasp the power cord, lift it out of the slot,
then feed it into the coffeemaker.
Lock the cord in the slot when finished.

(Programmable Models Only)

The clock flashes on the control panel to indicate
that it has not been set.
You must set the clock if you want to use
the DELAY BREW feature.
To set the clock:
1) Press and hold the HOUR button until the clock
displays the correct hour. See Figure A-1.
The PM indicator will light to indicate a PM time;
if the PM indicator is not lit, the time is AM.

2) Press and hold the MIN. button until the clock
displays the correct minute. See Figure B-1.
The clock is now set.

Brewing Coffee
Cleaning the Coffeemaker Before First Use
Follow the steps below under “Adding Water and Ground Coffee” and
“Brewing Coffee Now,” but do not add coffee grounds.
Selecting and Measuring Ground Coffee
For best results, use coffee ground for use with automatic drip coffeemakers.
The amounts shown below are suggested amounts.

Adding Water and Ground Coffee
1) Swing open the brew basket and, if desired,
lift out the removable filter insert.
If using paper filters, it is important
that the sides of the filter fit flush
against the sides of the filter insert.
If filter collapse occurs, for best
results, dampen the filter before
placing it in the brew basket and
adding ground coffee. Also, for best
performance of your filters, be sure
to fold the seam at the bottom of
the filter and the tab that is located
at the top of the filter.
2) Place a MR. COFFEE® brand 8-12 cup
paper filter or a MR. COFFEE®
permanent filter in the filter basket.

3) Add the desired amount of ground coffee
to the filter. Gently shake the filter insert
to level the ground coffee.
4) Be certain that the filter is centered in the
filter insert. Close the brew basket.
5) Fill the water reservoir with the desired amount
of tap water.

6) Place the decanter on the warming plate.
Make sure the decanter is fully placed on
the warming plate or the water and grounds
will overflow from the brew basket.
An overflow may cause personal injury
or damage to property.
To reduce the risk of damaging the decanter
and/or the risk of personal injury, do not
add cold water to the decanter if the
decanter is already hot. Allow the decanter
to cool before using.
Do not brew coffee while the brew basket
lid is open.
Brewing Coffee Now
For Switch Models:
Push the switch so the light illuminates.
This light indicates that the coffeemaker is On and
the brew cycle will begin. When the coffee stops
flowing, the brew cycle is complete.
While the coffee is brewing, the
Pause ‘n Serve feature allows you
to sneak a cup of coffee from the
decanter. REPLACE THE DECANTER
ON THE WARMING PLATE WITHIN
30 SECONDS TO PREVENT OVERFLOW
AND POSSIBLE INJURY.
To turn Off the coffeemaker, push the switch
so the light is no longer illuminated. Your
coffeemaker will keep your coffee hot for 2 hours
and then automatically shut off (Models ESS10
and ESS11 Switch Coffeemakers only.)
If the brew basket overflows or fails
to empty into the decanter, do not
open the brew basket. Turn off the
coffeemaker. Unplug the coffeemaker
and wait for the contents to cool
before handling.
For Programmable Models:
Push the ON button when ready to start brewing.
Your coffeemaker will keep your coffee hot
for 2 hours, then automatically shut off.
To turn the coffeemaker Off,
push the OFF button.

Brewing Coffee Later
For Programmable Models:
You must set the time for when you would like
the coffeemaker to begin brewing your coffee.
1) While the coffeemaker is off, press and hold
the SET DELAY button.
2) While pressing and holding the SET DELAY
button, press and hold the HOUR button
until the clock displays the hour you desire.
The PM indicator will light to indicate a PM time;
if the PM indicator is not lit, the time is AM.
3) While still pressing and holding the SET DELAY
button, press and hold the MIN. button until
the clock displays the correct minute.
4) Release the SET DELAY button.
The DELAY BREW time is now set.
5) Press the DELAY BREW button to activate
the DELAY BREW mode.
The DELAY BREW indicator will light. The delay
timer is set and the coffeemaker will begin
brewing the coffee at the time you selected.
If you want your coffee to brew
at the same time the following day,
simply add the desired amount of
ground coffee, fill the water reservoir
and press DELAY BREW.

Important: Resetting Delay Brew at the Pre-Set Time
Due to a safety feature included in this unit, the programmable timer will not
automatically brew the next day after its last use. If the Delay Indicator Light in
the lower left hand corner of the clock display is not illuminated, then you will
need to reset the DELAY BREW feature by pressing the DELAY BREW button.
The programmable timer will not automatically brew the next day if left in the
AUTO position after its last use. This is a safety feature. If the OFF indicator light in
the lower right hand corner of the clock display is illuminated, reset AUTO BREW
by turning the control switch to OFF, then to AUTO. (Models ESX20, ESX23,
ESX20D, ESX23D Only)
Setting Clock and Timer
(Programmable Models Only)
Note: You do not have to set your clock before the Coffeemaker will operate.
Plug in the power cord, press SELECT once to turn the Coffeemaker on. The ON
light will illuminate and the clock will stop flashing, but it will not keep time.
Setting the Clock
1. Plug the power cord into your electrical outlet. The clock display will flash
until you set the time.
2. Alternately press and hold the HOUR and MINUTE buttons until you reach
the current time.
3. The PM indicator light in the display will illuminate to indicate PM time.
Presetting the Brewing Time
1. You must first set the clock to the correct time before setting the desired time
for Delay Brew.
2. Press the SET/DELAY button, then alternately press the HOUR and MINUTE
buttons to set the time you want the Coffeemaker to start brewing.
The Delay Indicator Light will flash during this time.
3. Press the SET/DELAY button again to turn off the flashing light. If the
Delay Indicator Light is not flashing, pressing the HOUR or MINUTE buttons
will change the clock time.
Brewing Automatically at the Preset Time
1. Follow Steps 1 – 5 in the “Brewing” Section.
2. Press the SELECT button. The Delay Indicator Light should illuminate.
3. Brewing will begin at the preset time. The coffee will remain hot in
the decanter for 2 hours. To keep your coffee hot for an additional 2 hours,
press the SELECT button. The ON indicator light should illuminate.

Brewing Coffee
If the clock display is flashing, refer to Section “Setting the Clock” before
continuing.
1. Open the swing-out brew basket to your left. Insert a MR. COFFEE® filter into
the removable black inner brew basket.
2. Add desired amount of coffee, referring to the Coffee Measurement Chart.
Shake lightly to level coffee.
3. Be sure the paper filter is centered before closing the brew basket.
4. Fill the decanter with cold water to desired capacity as marked on the side
of the decanter. (1 cup = 5 oz).
5. Pour water into your carafe. Note: For easy and accurate filling, please refer to
cup size markings located on the carafe. Pour the water into the water reservoir
and then place the empty carafe onto the warmer plate.
6. Turn your Coffeemaker switch to ON. When the coffee stops flowing, the
brewing cycle is complete.
7. Carefully remove the black inner brew basket and discard the used grounds
and filter. Rinse the black brew basket and replace. Note: Remove decanter
from the warming plate before opening the swivel basket. This will prevent
the drip stop valve from catching on the decanter lid.
8. To make another pot of coffee, repeat Steps 1 – 7.
9. Turn your Coffeemaker off when the decanter is empty.
Warning: To avoid risk of personal injury or damage to property as a result of
overflow, be sure the decanter is squarely centered under the brew
basket during the brewing cycle. Brewed coffee and grounds, both
in brew basket and decanter, are very hot. Handle with care to avoid
scalding. If brew basket overflows, or if brew basket fails to drain
into decanter during brew cycle, do not open or handle basket.
Unplug Coffeemaker and wait for contents to cool before handling.

Brewing 1– 4 Cups (Models ESX30, ESX33 Only)
If you want to brew 4 cups or less, the 1– 4 Cup mode will slow the
brewing cycle to ensure optimal saturation of the ground coffee beans.
Note: Use only the proper amount of ground coffee and fill the water reservoir
with 4 cups or less of water.
1. Press the SELECT button twice.
2. The ON and 1 – 4 Cup Indicator Lights should be illuminated.
If you want to brew 4 cups or less at a preset time, follow Steps 1– 3
in the “Presetting Your Brewer” section.
1. Press the SELECT button twice.
2. The ON and 1 – 4 Cup Indicator Lights should be illuminated.
Adjusting the Warmer Plate Temperature
(Models ESX30, ESX33 Only)
After the coffee is brewed, you can keep the coffee at your preferred temperature.
Turn the Warmer Temp knob clockwise to increase the temperature, or turn
counterclockwise to decrease the temperature. To maintain a constant
temperature, you may need to lower the warmer plate temperature as
you decrease the amount of coffee in the pot. DO NOT allow the decanter
to boil dry. This will damage the decanter.
Audible Indicators (Models ESX30, ESX33 Only)
When the Coffeemaker is finished brewing and your coffee is ready,
your Coffeemaker will beep five times.
Just before the Coffeemaker shuts off automatically, it will beep three times.
Upon completion of the clean cycle, the Coffeemaker will beep once.
Cleaning
Your Coffeemaker must be cleaned when you begin to notice excessive steaming,
the cleaning cycle indicator light is blinking during normal brewing cycles, or the
brewing time increases considerably. This condition is caused by a build-up of
lime and mineral deposits from your water. If the pumping action stops before all
the water has been pumped out of the machine, the appliance requires cleaning.
The frequency of cleaning depends on the hardness of water used.
The following table gives a suggested cleaning schedule.

Cleaning the Decanter
Hard water can leave a whitish stain on the decanter.
Coffee and tea may then turn this stain brown.
To remove decanter stains:
1) Fill the decanter with a solution of equal parts
tap water and vinegar and let the solution stand
in the decanter for approximately 20 minutes.
2) Discard the solution and wash and rinse
the decanter.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleansers
that may scratch the decanter;
scratches may cause the decanter
to break.

Sunbeam Products, Inc. (“Sunbeam”) warrants that for a period of one year from the
date of purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship.
Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component of the

Cuidado y Uso de la Jarra
Siga las siguientes instrucciones para reducir o eliminar el riesgo de romper la jarra:

Esta jarra está diseñada para ser utilizada con su cafetera MR. COFFEE®,
por lo tanto nunca debe ser usada sobre las hornillas de una estufa,
horno ni tampoco en un horno microondas.

No coloque la jarra de vidrio caliente en una superficie fría o mojada.
No utilice una jarra quebrada o con un asa debilitada.
No limpie la jarra con polvos limpiadores, fibras metálicas o de lana
o cualquier otro material abrasivo.

Deseche la jarra inmediatamente si sus contenidos se evaporan al hervir.
Proteja la jarra de filos, raspaduras o un manejo brusco.
Advertencia: Para reducir el riesgo de incendio o descarga eléctrica,
no quite ninguna cubierta para darle servicio al aparto.
En el interior de la cafetera no se encuentra ninguna parte
que pueda ser remplazada. Solamente el personal
autorizado debe reparar la cafetera.
Instrucciones Especiales del Cordón Eléctrico
1) El aparato tiene un cordón eléctrico corto como medida de seguridad para
prevenir el riesgo de tropezar, tirar o enredarse con un cordón más largo.
2) Puede usar cables de extensión si se observan las precauciones adecuadas.
3) Si se usan los cables de extensión la capacidad nominal eléctrica del cable
de extensión debe ser de por lo menos 10 amperios y 120 voltios.
Coloque el cordón de extensión de manera que no cuelgue sobre
el borde del mostrador o mesa donde pueda tirarlo un niño o pueda
tropezar con él accidentalmente.
Este aparato cuenta con una clavija polarizada (una pata es más ancha
que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, esta clavija entra
sólo de una manera en un enchufe polarizado. Si la clavija no encaja en
el enchufe simplemente colóquela al revés. Si aún así no encaja llame
a un electricista de su confianza. De ninguna manera intente modificar
esta medida de seguridad.

¡Felicitaciones por la compra de su nueva cafetera MR. COFFEE®! Por favor lea estas
instrucciones cuidadosamente antes de usar su nueva cafetera. El uso, cuidado
y mantenimiento adecuado asegurarán una operación sin problemas y una larga
duración de este aparato. Guarde estas instrucciones para la información
de limpieza y si es necesario para la información de partes de repuesto.
Características de Su Cafetera
Su nueva cafetera MR. COFFEE® tiene las siguientes características:
• Capacidad de Preparación de 10 Tazas
• La Cantidad Pequeña de 1 a 4 Tazas – Permite que usted fije su cafetera
para preparar café hasta cuatro tazas de café de la calidad. También permite

Ajustando la Longitud
del Cable Eléctrico
Usted puede ajustar la longitud del cordón eléctrico de
manera que tenga la longitud exacta que usted desea.
Para aumentar la longitud del cordón eléctrico:
Tome el cordón eléctrico (no el enchufe) y jale
suavemente sacándolo de la ranura, después jálelo
alejándolo de la cafetera.
Para reducir la longitud del cordón eléctrico:
Tome el cordón eléctrico, sáquelo de la ranura, y
después alimente el cordón al interior de la cafetera.
Asegure el cordón en la ranura cuando haya
terminado.
Ajustando el Reloj
(Modelos Programables Únicamente)

Limpieza de la Cafetera Antes de Usar por Primera Vez
Siga los pasos indicados en la sección “Añadiendo Agua y Café Molido”
y en “Preparando Café Ahora”, pero no agregue los granos de café.

Para mejores resultados, use granos de café para cafeteras de goteo automático.

3) Agregue la cantidad deseada de café molido
al filtro. Suavemente agite el filtro para nivelar
el café molido.
4) Asegúrese de que el filtro esté centrado en
la canasta para filtro y después cierre canasta
de preparación.
5) Llene el tanque de agua con la cantidad
deseada de agua de grifo.

6) Coloque la jarra sobre el plato calefactor.
Asegúrese de que la jarra esté correctamente
colocada en el centro del plato calefactor o el
agua y el café se desbordarán de la canasta de
preparación. Un desbordamiento puede causar
lesión personal o daños.
Para reducir el riesgo de dañar la jarra y/o el
riesgo de lesión personal, no agregue agua fría
a la jarra si ésta ya está caliente. Permita que
la jarra se enfríe antes de utilizar.
No prepare café mientras que la canasta
de preparación esté abierta.
Preparando Café Ahora
Para los modelos con interruptor:
Presione el interruptor, de manera que la luz se encienda.
Esta luz indica que la cafetera está encendida y que el ciclo
de preparación iniciará. Cuando el café deje de fluir en la
cafetera, el ciclo de preparación se ha completado.
Mientras que el café está siendo preparado,
la función de pausa y servir Pause ‘n Serve
permite que puede servirse con la jarra una
taza de café. COLOQUE LA JARRA SOBRE EL
PLATO CALEFACTOR EN UN PERIODO MENOR
A 30 SEGUNDOS PARA PREVENIR QUE EL
CAFÉ SE DERRAME Y UNA POSIBLE LESIÓN.
Apague la cafetera, presionando el interruptor de manera
que la luz ya no esté iluminada. Su cafetera mantendrá su
café caliente hasta por 2 horas y después se apagará
automáticamente (Únicamente cafeteras con interruptor,
Modelos ESS10 y ESS11.)
Si la canasta de preparación derrama café o
no vacía el café a la jarra, no abra la canasta
de preparación. Apague la cafetera.
Desconéctela y espere a que los contenidos
se enfríen antes de manejarlos.
Para Modelos Programables:
Presione el botón de encendido ON cuando esté listo
para comenzar a preparar café.
Su cafetera mantendrá caliente el café durante 2 horas,
después se apagará automáticamente.
Para apagar la cafetera, presione el botón de apagado
OFF.

Preparando Café Más Tarde
Para Modelos Programables:
Usted debe programar el tiempo en el que le gustaría
que la cafetera inicie a preparar su café.
1) Mientras que la cafetera está apagada, presione
y detenga el botón para programar el retraso
de la preparación de café SET DELAY.
2) Mientras sigue presionando el botón para
programar el retraso de la preparación de café
SET DELAY, presione y detenga el botón de hora
HOUR hasta que la pantalla en el reloj muestre
la hora que usted desea. El indicador PM se
iluminará para indicar un tiempo PM, si el
indicador PM no se ilumina, el tiempo es AM.
3) Mientras aun presiona y detiene el botón
SET DELAY, presione y detenga el botón de
minutos MIN. hasta que la pantalla en el reloj
muestre los minutos correctos.
4) Deje de presionar el botón SET DELAY.
Ya está programado el tiempo de retraso
de la preparación de café DELAY BREW.
5) Presione el botón para retrasar la preparación
del café DELAY BREW y activar el modo de
funcionamiento DELAY BREW.
El indicador de retrasar la preparación DELAY
BREW, se iluminará. El cronómetro de retraso
está programado y la cafetera comenzará
la preparación de café a la hora que usted
seleccionó.
Si usted desea que su cafetera prepare
café a la misma hora al día siguiente,
simplemente añada la cantidad deseada
de café molido, llene el tanque con agua
y presione el botón DELAY BREW.

Importante: Restableciendo la función del retraso
de la preparación a la hora previamente programada
Debido al dispositivo de seguridad incluido en esta unidad, el cronómetro
programable no activará la preparación automática de café al día siguiente
después de su último uso. Si la luz indicadora de retraso en la preparación no está
iluminada (esta luz se encuentra en la esquina inferior izquierda de la pantalla del
reloj); entonces usted necesitará restablecer la función para retrasar la preparación
DELAY BREW, presionando el botón para retrasar la preparación DELAY BREW.
El cronómetro programable no activará la preparación automática de café al día
siguiente si se deja en la posición de automático AUTO después del último uso.
Esta es una función de seguridad. Si la luz indicadora de apagado está iluminada
(esta luz se encuentra en la esquina inferior derecha de la pantalla del reloj);
restablezca la función de preparación automática colocando el interruptor en la
posición de apagado OFF y después colocándolo en la posición de automático
AUTO. (Únicamente los modelos ESX20, ESX23, ESX20D y ESX23D)
Programando el Reloj y el Cronómetro
(Modelos Programables Únicamente)
Nota: Usted no tiene que ajustar la hora en su reloj antes de hacer funcionar su
cafetera. Enchufe el cordón eléctrico. Presione una vez el botón para seleccionar
SELECT para encender la cafetera. La luz de encendido ON se iluminará y el reloj
dejará de parpadear, pero no registrará la hora correcta.
Ajustando la Hora en el Reloj
1. Enchufe el cordón eléctrico en la toma de corriente. La pantalla del reloj se
encenderá intermitentemente hasta que usted ajuste la hora.
2. Presione de forma alterna y mantenga presionado los botones de la HORA
y los MINUTOS, hasta que en la pantalla aparezca la hora correcta.
3. La luz indicadora de PM en la pantalla se iluminará para indicar que es la hora PM.
Programando la Hora de Preparación
1. Antes de programar la hora para retrasar la preparación, usted debe primero
ajustar la hora correcta en el reloj.
2. Presione el botón para ajustar/retrasar SET/DELAY, después presione de manera
alterna los botones de la HORA y los MINUTOS, para programar la hora a la que
desea que su cafetera comience la preparación del café. La luz indicadora de
retraso de la preparación se encenderá intermitentemente en este momento.
3. Presione una vez más el botón para ajustar/retrasar SET/DELAY y apagar la luz
intermitente. Si la luz indicadora de retraso de la preparación no se enciende
intermitentemente, presionando los botones de la hora HOUR y los minutos
MINUTE cambiará la hora del reloj.
Preparación Automática en un Tiempo Programado
1. Siga los pasos del 1 al 5 en la Sección Preparando Café.
2. Presione el botón para seleccionar SELECT. La luz indicadora de retraso
en la preparación debe iluminarse.
3. La preparación del café comenzará a la hora programada. El café se mantendrá
caliente en la jarra durante 2 horas. Para mantener su café caliente durante 2 horas
más, presione el botón para seleccionar SELECT. La luz indicadora de encendido
ON debe iluminarse.

Preparando Café
Si la pantalla del reloj se ilumina intermitentemente, antes de continuar consulte
la sección “Ajustando el Reloj”.
1. Abra la canasta giratoria hacia la izquierda. Inserte un filtro MR. COFFEE®
dentro de la canasta de preparación negra, interior y removible.
2. Añada la cantidad deseada de café, consulte el Cuadro de Medición de Café.
Agite ligeramente para nivelar el café.
3. Asegúrese de que el filtro de papel esté centrado antes de cerrar la canasta
de preparación.
4. Llene la jarra con agua fría hasta el nivel deseado de acuerdo a las marcas
en la parte lateral de la jarra. (1 taza = 5 onzas).
5. Llene la jarra con agua. Nota: Para llenar a jarra de forma fácil y precisa,
consulte las marcas del tamaño de tazas localizadas en la jarra. Vierta el agua
en el tanque para agua y coloque la jarra vacía sobre el plato calefactor.
6. Coloque el interruptor de la cafetera en la posición de encendido ON.
Cuando el café deje de fluir, el ciclo de preparación ha concluido.
7. Saque cuidadosamente la canasta interna de preparación y deseche los granos
de café y el filtro utilizado. Enjuague la canasta negra de preparación y vuelva
a colocarla en su lugar. Nota: Antes de abrir la canasta giratoria, quite la jarra
del plato calefactor. Esto evitará que la válvula para detener el goteo se atore
en la tapa de la jarra.
8. Para preparar otra jarra de café, repita los pasos del 1 al 7.
9. Apague su cafetera cuando la jarra esté vacía.
Advertencia: Para evitar el riesgo de lesiones personales o daños a propiedades,
causados por derramamientos, verifique que la jarra esté centrada
debajo de la canasta de preparación durante el ciclo de
preparación de café. Los granos de café en la canasta de
preparación y el café preparado en la jarra están muy calientes.
Tenga cuidado con ellos para evitar quemaduras. Si la canasta de
preparación se desborda, o si la canasta de preparación no
escurre el café durante el ciclo de preparación, no abra o toque la
canasta. Desconecte la cafetera y espere a que sus contenidos se
enfríen antes de tocarlos.

Preparando de 1 a 4 Tazas
(Únicamente Modelos ESX30 y ESX33)
Si usted desea preparar 4 tazas o menos, el modo de preparación de 1 a 4 tazas
disminuirá la velocidad del ciclo de preparación para asegurar una saturación
óptima de los granos de café. Nota: Use solamente la cantidad correcta
de granos de café y llene el tanque de agua con 4 tazas de agua o menos.
1. Presione dos veces el botón para seleccionar SELECT.
2. Las luces de encendido ON y del indicador de 1 a 4 tazas se iluminarán.
Si usted desea preparar 4 tazas o menos a un tiempo especial,
siga los Pasos 1 – 3 en la sección “Programando la Hora de Preparación”.
1. Presione dos veces el botón para seleccionar SELECT.
2. Las luces de encendido ON y del indicador de 1 a 4 tazas se iluminarán.
Ajustando la Temperatura del Plato Calefactor
(Únicamente Modelos ESX30 y ESX33)
Después de que el café ha sido preparado, usted puede mantener el café a la
temperatura que desee. Gire la perilla de calentamiento en sentido de las
manecillas del reloj para aumentar la temperatura. O bien, gírela en sentido
contrario a las manecillas del reloj para disminuir la temperatura. Para mantener
una temperatura constante, baje la temperatura del plato calefactor a medida
que disminuye la cantidad de café en la jarra. NO permita que los contenidos
de la jarra hiervan y se evaporen. Esto puede dañar la jarra.
Indicadores Sonoros
(Únicamente Modelos ESX30 y ESX33)
Cuando la cafetera haya terminado de preparar su café, el aparato emitirá
una señal sonora cinco veces.
Justo antes de que la cafetera se apague automáticamente, emitirá una señal
tres veces. Cuando ya haya terminado el ciclo de limpieza, la cafetera emitirá
una sola señal.
Limpieza
Usted debe limpiar su cafetera cuando note cualquiera de las siguientes condiciones.
Salida excesiva de vapor, la luz indicadora del ciclo de limpieza se encienda
intermitentemente durante los ciclos normales de preparación, o los tiempos
de preparación aumentan considerablemente. Esto es causado por acumulación
de residuos minerales que se encuentran en el agua. Si la acción de bombeo
se detiene antes de que toda el agua haya sido bombeada fuera del aparato,
la cafetera requiere limpieza.
La frecuencia de limpieza del aparato depende de la dureza del agua que se usa
para preparar café. La siguiente tabla le indica un programa sugerido de limpieza.

Para un café o te con mejor sabor, recomendamos que utilice los filtros de papel
para preparar de 8 a 10 tazas, marca MR. COFFEE® o los filtros permanentes marca
MR. COFFEE®. Estos filtros están disponibles en casi todos los supermercados.

Jarras
Usted puede generalmente comprar una jarra de repuesto de la tienda donde
compró su cafetera. Si usted no puede encontrar un repuesto, por favor llame
a 1-800 MR COFFEE (1-800-672-6333) dentro de los Estados Unidos y Canadá
para obtener información acerca de dónde puede encontrar una tienda
que venda las jarras de repuesto.
Reparaciones
Si su cafetera requiere servicio, no la envíe al lugar donde la compró. Todas las

Garantía Limitada de 1 Año
Sunbeam Products Inc. (“Sunbeam”) garantiza que, por un período de un año a partir
de la fecha de compra, este producto estará libre de defectos en el material y en la
mano de obra. Sunbeam a su criterio, reparará o remplazará este producto o
cualquiera de los componentes del mismo que estén defectuosos durante el período
de garantía. El remplazo será hecho con un producto o componente nuevo o
reconstruido. Si el producto ya no se encuentra disponible, se remplazará con un
producto similar de igual o mayor valor. Esta es su garantía exclusiva.
Esta garantía es válida para el comprador original a partir de la fecha inicial de compra y
no es transferible. Conserve el recibo original de compra. La prueba de compra es
requerida para obtener la garantía. Los vendedores, centros de servicio de Sunbeam o
tiendas donde se vendan productos Sunbeam, no tienen el derecho de alterar,
modificar o cambiar de ninguna otra forma los términos o condiciones de esta garantía.
Esta garantía no cubre el desgaste por el uso normal de las partes o daños que resulten
de cualquiera de lo siguiente: negligencia o uso incorrecto del producto, uso bajo un
voltaje o corrientes inadecuados, uso contrario a las instrucciones de operación,
desensamble, reparaciones o alteraciones hechas por una persona que no pertenezca a
Sunbeam o a un centro de servicio autorizado. Mas aún, la garantía no cubre factores
imprevisibles tales como incendios, inundaciones, huracanes y tornados.
Sunbeam no será responsable de ningún daño incidental o consecuente causado por el
incumplimiento de cualquier garantía expresa o implícita. Excepto al alcance prohibido
por la ley que aplique, cualquier garantía implícita de comercialización o ajustes para un
propósito en particular, está limitada en duración al periodo de la garantía que arriba se
