Otherwise heat build-up occurs   and the unit may be damaged.   • Install this unit in a location which allows heat to easily dissipate.   Once installed, do not place any object on top of the unit.   • The surface temperature of the amplifier will become hot during use. Install   the amplifier in a place where people, resins, and other substances that are   sensitive to heat will not come into contact with it.   • When making a hole under a seat, inside the trunk, or somewhere else in   the vehicle, check that there is nothing hazardous on the opposite side   such as a gasoline tank, brake pipe, or wiring harness, and be careful not to   cause scratches or other damage.   • Do not install near the dashboard, rear tray, or air bag safety parts.   • The installation to the vehicle should securely fasten the unit to a place in   which it will not obstruct driving. If the unit comes off due to a shock and   hits a person or safety part, it may cause injury or an accident.   • After installing the unit, check to make sure that electrical equipment   such as the brake lamps, turn signal lamps and windshield wipers operate   normally.   Self-tapping screw   (ø5 × 18 mm)   Installation board, etc.   (thickness : 15 mm or more)   ■ Remote controller (KAC-9152D/8152D only)   Mounting bracket   Remote controller   Self-tapping screw   (ø2.6 × 12 mm)   English 3   Connection   2WARNING   ■ RCA cable or Speaker level input connection   To prevent fire caused by a short in the wiring,   connect a fusible link or breaker nearby the   battery’s positive terminal.   • RCA cable Connections   Power control wire   RCA cable*   2CAUTION   CENTER UNIT   (CD receiver, etc.)   • If sound is not output normally, immediately   turn power off and check connections.   • Be sure to turn the power off before changing   the setting of any switch.   • If the fuse blows, check wires for shorts, then   replace the fuse with one of the same rating.   • Check that no unconnected wires or   connectors are touching the car body. Do   not remove caps from unconnected wires or   connectors to prevent short circuits.   RCA cable ground terminal   Left input   '.$   • Connect the speaker wires to appropriate   speaker connectors separately. Sharing the   negative wire of the speaker or grounding   speaker wires to the metal body of the car can   cause this unit to fail.   • After installation, check that the brake lamps,   winkers, and wipers work properly.   Right input   • Speaker level input Connections   Cable Color of the connector   Car fuse box   Genuine-accessory car   NOTE   9 · 9 · White   stereo (No line output   center unit etc.)   Left   • Do not connect cables and leads to both RCA   cable input jacks and the speaker level input   terminals simultaneously, for this may cause   malfunction or damage.   White/Black   Gray   Gray/Black   ACC   Right   Battery   * Commercially available parts   ■ Power wire and Speaker wire connection   Power control wire   Lead terminal*   Terminal cover   Battery wire*   Protective Fuse*   Subwoofer (L + R)   Battery   Ground wire*   ■ Remote cable connection (KAC-9152D/8152D only)   2CAUTION   Remote cable   • Before connecting the remote controller   cables, always set the Bass boost level control   to "0dB".   Remote controller   4 English   Controls   Remote controller   (KAC-9152D/KAC-8152D only)   ꢉꢉ   ꢅꢆ   ꢈ ꢉꢆ   ꢄꢆ   ꢁꢆ   ꢃ ꢉꢅ   ꢆꢂ   ꢈꢆ   ꢂ ꢉꢁ   ꢊꢂ   ꢉꢂꢂ   "//34 ,%6%, ꢇD"   &2%15%.#9 ꢇ(Z   KAC-9152D/8152D   KAC-9102D/8102D     | } ~     ꢀꢁ8ꢂoꢂꢃꢄ8   z { | } ~    p q r s t u v w x y 0 LINE OUT terminal   NOTE   The signal that’s input from the line input terminal is output.   The control panel locates under the front side cover. Be sure to connect it with all the systems.   5 Speaker output terminals   • KAC-9152D   % PHASE switch   As this unit accepts speakers with a minimum impedance of 1 ohm,   connect speakers with 1-ohm or higher impedance to these terminals.   When this switch is set "180°" (Reverse) the speaker output phase is reversed.   ^ INPUT SENSITIVITY control   • KAC-9102D/8152D/8102D   As this unit accepts speakers with a minimum impedance of 2 ohms,   connect speakers with 2-ohms or higher impedance to these terminals.   Set this control according to the pre-output level of the center unit   connected with this unit, or to the maximum power output of the genuine-   accessory car stereo.   2CAUTION   Use the diagram on the right as a guide.   The rated input of the speakers should be no less than the maximum output   of the amplifier. Otherwise malfunction may result.   NOTE   For the pre-output level or the maximum power output, refer to the   <Specifications> in the instruction manual of the center unit.   6 REMOTE terminal (KAC-9152D/8152D only)   Connects the Remote cable.   & BOOST LEVEL (Bass boost level) control (KAC-9152D/8152D   only)   NOTE   Sets the level by which the low frequency range should be boosted.   Use the Remote cable of the accessory.   * FREQUENCY (Bass boost frequency) control (KAC-9152D/   7 Speaker level input terminals   8152D only)   NOTE   Sets the center frequency around which the low frequency range should be   boosted.   • The genuine-accessory car stereo shall have a maximum power output of   no more than 40 W.   • Do not connect the speaker output leads from a power amplifier (Optional)   to the speaker level input terminals of this unit, for this may cause   malfunction or damage.   • Do not connect cables and leads to both RCA cable input jacks and   the speaker level input terminals simultaneously, for this may cause   malfunction or damage.   • Connect the power control lead to a power supply which can be turned   ON/OFF by the ignition key switch (ACC line). With this connection, shock   noise may be generated when the power of the genuine-accessory car   stereo is switched ON/OFF.   8 RCA cable ground lead terminal   When using an RCA cable with a ground lead attached, connect the ground   lead to this terminal.   9 LINE IN terminal   English 5   Dual Mono Drive (Function of the KAC-9152D)   A Dual Mono Drive system is a system in which 2 monaural amplifiers are   both set to bridged mode to drive one subwoofer with a high-output signal.   f Setting   ꢀ 1.If you use the connection as shown, set amplifier ¡ to the Forward phase   (PHASE: 0 º) and set amplifier ™ to the Reverse phase (PHASE: 180 º).   2.Set all other switches (except for the "PHASE" switch) of amplifiers ¡ and ™ to   the same position.   CENTER UNIT   , 2%-/4%   ,).% /54   Subwoofer   (2 Ω or higher)   ꢀ Connection   , 1.Connect the 9 speaker wire to the 9 terminal of amplifier ¡.
