number value. Press a particular key multiple times to cycle through the values
associated with that key. For example: Each time it is pressed, the number 2

cycle through the letters to the lower case version. If you
capitalize a letter in the middle of a playlist, the next letter will
also appear as an upper case letter unless you cycle through
the letters to the lower case version.

The Enter button is equivalent to highlighting and selecting the Done button on
screens that call for user input. After typing in a name or a number, press Enter
to input that information into the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center.

52 | Setting recording quality
Setting recording quality
The Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center is configured to record your CD music
and convert it into high quality digital audio files that are less compressed for the
Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center to play, or smaller, more highly compressed
files to transfer to your portable Rio digital audio players.
Since the portable players often have limited space available for storing music,
recording the digital audio files at a higher compression rate like 64 Kbps creates
smaller file sizes, and allows you to put more music on your portable Rio digital
audio player. When digital audio files are recorded at CD quality(approximately
128 kbps) or better, they are less compressed, use more bits to create one
second of music, and take up more hard drive space.
Hint: 64 Kbps means
64,000 bits were
used to create one
second of music.
128 Kbps means
128,000 bits were
used to create one
second of music.

Center hard drive to reflect any changes
you have made to Playlists, Artists,

Advanced Digital Audio Centers hard
drive contains the same tracks as your
computers hard drive, and they are
organized by their ID3 tag information,
and the changes you made in the emplode database.
If a track was recorded on the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center, the track
information will appear in the emplode database after sychronisation; however,
there will not be a copy of the track on the PC hard drive.

Problem: Im having trouble using my USB keyboard and joypad that
are plugged into the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center via a USB hub.
Troubleshooting measures:
At this time, hubs are not supported and may cause unreliable operation. Plug one
device into the front USB port, and another into rear USB Port 2. Additional
devices may be interchanged without rebooting the Rio Advanced Digital Audio
Center.
Problem: While encoding Multiple CDs, I get a message that Ive run
out of space. What can I do?
Troubleshooting measures:

encoding is finished, then re-select record Multiple CDs.
3. In the later case you will have to delete existing content to free up space on
the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center. To delete content, press the Menu
button, then navigate to Manage Playlists and Content > Delete Content.

Center and Rio Receiver. Turn both off, then turn the Rio Advanced Digital
Audio Center on first.

6. If the Rio Receiver still does not find the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center,
try connecting the Receiver directly to the Rio Advanced Digital Audio
