This manual uses a series of symbols and signal words which are   intended to convey the level of importance of the safety messages. The progres-   sion of symbols is described below. Make sure your exten-   sion cord is in good condition.   Conductor size should be in accor-   dance with the chart below. The   amperage rating should be listed on   the motor or tool nameplate. An   undersized cord will cause a drop in   line voltage resulting in loss of power   and overheating. Your extension   cord must also contain a ground wire   and plug pin. Always repair or   replace extension cords if they   become damaged.   Keep tools sharp and clean for best   and safest performance. Follow   instructions for lubricating and   changing accessories.   15. DISCONNECT TOOLS before ser-   vicing and changing accessories,   such as blades, bits, cutters, and   the like.   16. REDUCE THE RISK OF UNINTEN-   TIONAL STARTING. Make sure   switch is in off position before plug-   ging in.   17. USE RECOMMENDED ACCES-   SORIES. CHECK   DAMAGED   PARTS.   7-10   16   16   12   12   Before further use of the tool, a   guard or other part that is damaged   should be carefully checked to   determine that it will operate proper-   ly and perform its intended function.   Check for alignment of moving   parts, binding of moving parts,   breakage of parts, mounting, and   any other conditions that may affect   its operation. Do not   wear loose clothing, gloves, neck-   ties, rings, bracelets, or other jewel-   ry which may get caught in moving   parts. Non-slip footwear is recom-   mended. Wear protective hair cover-   ing to contain long hair.   11. ALWAYS USE SAFETY GLASSES.   Also use face or dust mask if cutting   operation is dusty. Everyday eye-   glasses only have impact resistant   lenses, they are NOT safety glass-   es.   No list of safety guidelines can be   complete. Every shop environment is   different. Always consider safety   first, as it applies to your individual   working conditions. Use this and   other machinery with caution and   respect. Failure to do so could result   in serious personal injury, damage to   equipment or poor work results.   12. SECURE WORK. Use clamps or a   vise to hold work when practical. It’s   safer than using your hand and frees   both hands to operate tool.   13. DON’T OVERREACH. When equipped with a spiral cutter   (sold separately), this tool can plunge cut   like a drill and cut sideways like a jig saw.   Operates at 28,000 RPM. All Manuals Search And Download.   OPERATIONS   Inserting and Removing Bits   UNPLUG TOOL WHEN CHANGING BITS   1. Push the silver spindle lock button on   the side of the cutter and turn silver   collet with fingers until the lock   engages.   Operating this equipment has the   potential for flying debris to cause eye   injury. Always wear safety glasses or   goggles when operating equipment.   Everyday glasses or reading glasses   only have impact resistant lenses, they   are not safety glasses. Be certain the   safety glasses you wear meet the   appropriate standards of the American   National Standards Institute (ANSI).   2. Use the supplied wrench to loosen   the silver collet while continuing to   push the spindle lock button.   3. Slide the desired bit into the collet as   far as possible without covering the   bit’s cutting edge.   4. With the spindle lock button still   pressed, tighten the collet with the   supplied wrench until securely seat-   ed. Do not over tighten.   Like all power tools, there is danger   associated with the Model H0604.   Accidents are frequently caused by   lack of familiarity or failure to pay   attention. Use this tool with respect   and caution to lessen the possibility of   operator injury. If normal safety pre-   cautions are overlooked or ignored,   serious personal injury may occur.   Operating the cutting tool   1. With appropriate bit in place, turn   power switch on and slowly engage   bit into or against the material to be   cut. Do not turn power on while the bit   is resting against surface to be cut.   2. If at any time during the cut the blade   stalls or stops abruptly, turn power off   immediately and wait for blade to   come to rest before removing from   material.   3. Do not make a blind cut into a wall   without first determining if there are   hazards behind the material to be   cut. Check behind walls for wires,   other electrical hazards, or plumbing.   4. All Manuals Search And Download.   MAINTENANCE   Operating Guides and Tips   Maintenance   Avoid overloading the cutting tool   Always use sharpened cutting bits.   Do not apply excessive pressure to   the cutting tool while using. If the   speed drops abnormally, decrease   pressure immediately. If the bit stops   abruptly or becomes blocked,   release the trigger at once.   Regular periodic maintenance on your   H0604 will ensure its optimum perfor-   mance. Make a habit of inspecting your   tool each time you use it. Check for the fol-   lowing conditions and repair or replace   when necessary:   1.   2.   3.   4.   Loose fasteners.   Worn switch.   Worn or damaged cords and plugs.   Any other condition that could ham-   per the safe operation of this   machine.   Ensure the safety of the workplace.   Clear the work area of all parts and   debris that may cause injury by flying   objects. Securely fix the object to be   cut or fastened in a vise or otherwise   clamp to avoid injury. Do not attempt   to hold workpiece by hand.   Since this tool is encased in a double insu-   lated plastic cover, leave repair and ser-   vice issues to a qualified service techni-   cian. This includes brush replacement,   lubrication or any other internal operation.   Inspect the cutting tool before use. Run   the cutting tool before using to   ensure all parts are running smooth-   ly and there are no abnormal sounds   or sparks. If any defect is found,   have unit serviced.   Ensure that no air passages get blocked. If   they do, blow them out with compressed   air. WARNING: Wear safety glasses when   cleaning tool with compressed air.   Know your worksite. Only cut as deep as   necessary. Check behind walls for   wires, other electrical hazards, or   plumbing.   Plastic parts can easily be cleaned with a   damp cloth, but never use water to clean   any electrical parts. Solvents should also   be avoided on plastic because of the pos-   sibility of damage.   Disassembly and improper reassem-   bly of this device can result in electri-   cal shock danger. Always have this   device serviced by an qualified elec-   trical repair technician. Serious injury   will result.   The potential for injury using this   device is great. Use extreme caution   and care when operating, adjusting and   maintaining this saw.
