cloth. Always unplug unit and allow to cool prior to  
cleaning.  
e o s c i l - AUTO SHUT-OFF  
To prevent damage and risks due to overheating this unit  
is equipped with a built-in overheat protection device. It  
cuts off the power as soon as the heater’s internal  
temperature becomes too hot. This patented,  
technologically advanced system requires the user to  
reset the heater if there is a potential overheat situation.  
/It will only resume operation when the user resets it.

To Reset the Heater:  
1. Unplug the heater and wait 10 minutes for the unit

1. Set the THERMOSTAT knob to the highest setting,

2. When the desired room temperature level is reached,

lower the thermostat setting, by turning the  
THERMOSTAT knob counter clockwise until it clicks.  
The heater will now stop operating.  
3. The thermostat will now automatically maintain the  
pre-set temperature level by turning the heater on and  
off. The thermostat is now set.  
For BFH3410 and BFH3420:  
1. To change the heater settings, press the MODE button.  
Each time you press the MODE button it will scroll to the  
settings FAN, LOW, HIGH, or AUTO.

Note that the degree range is from 60°F - 85°F  
(15°C - 29°C). if you scroll past 85°F (29°C) the  
display will automatically loop to 60°F (15°C).  
NOTE: When the room temperature goes below the  
set temperature the heater will automatically turn off.  
The fan will continue to run, cooling the heater for 30  
seconds. The unit will now operate when the room  
temperature falls below the preset temperature.  
TIP: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as  
it maintains the present temperature. To prevent the  
unit from cycling, raise the thermostat setting.  
OSCILLATION (For model BFH3420 only)  
For maximum heat distribution use the oscillation function.  
1. Press the Oscillation button on the control panel to  
begin 90° oscillation.  
2. To stop the heater from oscillating, press the Oscillation  
button a second time; the unit will stop in that direction.  
To resume oscillation, press the Oscillation button again.  
NIGHTLIGHT (For BFH3410 and BFH3420 only)  
1. The nightlight will automatically light when the room  
becomes dark. When the room becomes light, the  
nightlight will automatically turn off.  
2. To turn the nightlight off, press the button on the control  
panel.  
TIP: The nightlight will not automatically operate until  
the button is pressed again.  
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS  
During Season Care  
Before cleaning make sure the unit is unplugged.  
1. Allow the heater to cool before cleaning.  
2. Carefully wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth.  
TIP: Over time, dust may accumulate on the front grills.  
This can be removed by wiping the unit with a damp  
cloth. Always unplug unit and allow to cool prior to  
cleaning.

TROUBLESHOOTING  
If your heater fails to operate:  
Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is working.  
Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction turn  
the heater OFF, and follow the Reset Instructions in the  
manual. Carefully remove the obstruction.  
The thermostat might be set too low. Adjust the  
thermostat until the heater restarts.  
Please DO NOT attempt to open or repair the  
heater. Please see the Warranty for Service  
Instructions.

storing the unit in its original or appropriately sized box.  
HEATER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS  
1. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or  
mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void the  
warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user  
serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by  
qualified personnel only.  
2. If you need to exchange the unit, please return it in its  
original carton, with a sales receipt, to the store where  
you purchased it. If you are returning the unit more than  
30 days after the date of purchase, please see the  
enclosed warranty.
