12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY  
Audiovox XMFM1 XM FM Direct Adapter  
AUDIOVOX ELECTRONICS CORPORATION (the Company) warrants to the original retail purchaser of this product that should this  
product or any part thereof, under normal use and conditions, be proven defective in material or workmanship within12 months from the  
date of original purchase, such defect(s) will be repaired or replaced with new or reconditioned product (at the Company's option) without  
charge for parts and repair labor.  
Installation Guide  
For use with XM Satellite Radio Receivers with internal FM modulator  
To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of this Warranty, the product is to be delivered with proof of warranty coverage (e.g. dated  
bill of sale), specification of defect(s), transportation prepaid, to an approved warranty station or the Company at the address shown below.  
This Warranty does not extend to the elimination of externally generated static or noise, to costs incurred for installation, removal or  
reinstallation of the product, damage to speakers, accessories, or vehicle and home electrical systems, malfunction of satellite  
transmissions, repeater signal or receiver unit.  
Caution: Be sure in-  
staller is grounded with  
ground strap before han-  
dling device to prevent  
any possibility of dam-  
age from electrostatic  
discharge.  
This Warranty does not apply to any product or part thereof which, in the opinion of the Company, has suffered or been damaged through  
alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse, neglect, accident, or by removal or defacement of the factory serial number/bar  
code label(s). THE EXTENT OF THE COMPANY'S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR  
REPLACEMENT PROVIDED ABOVE AND, IN NO EVENT, SHALL THE COMPANY'S LIABILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE  
PAID BY PURCHASER FOR THE PRODUCT.  
This Warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties or liabilities. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED  
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. ANY ACTION FOR  
BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY HEREUNDER INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY MUST BE  
BROUGHT WITHIN A PERIOD OF 48 MONTHS FROM DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE. IN NO CASE SHALL THE COMPANY BE  
LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS  
OR IMPLIED, WHATSOEVER. No person or representative is authorized to assume for the Company any liability other than expressed  
herein in connection with the sale of this product.

1. Connect the cable marked “TO  
XM RADIO ”on the adapter into  
the antenna in jack on the XM  
radio.  
2. Connect the cable marked “TO  
FM ANT” on the adapter to the  
vehicle antenna cable (optional  
antenna adapter may be re-  
quired).  
3. Connect the vehicle radio cable  
lead to the cable marked “TO FM  
RADIO” on the adapter (optional  
antennaadapter may be required).  
4. Connect the XM Antenna into  
the jack marked “XM ANT” lo-  
cated on the side of the accessory.  
5. Your XM FM Direct receives  
power from your XM radio. No  
additional external power  
Note: The FM antenna connector  
used to connect the FM Direct to the  
audio/stereo system may require an  
additional antenna adapter. Some  
audio/stereo systems have AM an-  
tennas that require an active bias  
from your vehicle’s audio/stereo sys-  
tem. If AM reception is not restored,  
try a different antenna adapter that  
will allow the active bias to reach the  
AM antenna. Professional installa-  
tion is recommended  
Audiovox XM FM Direct Setup  
Turning on the Audiovox  
XM FM Direct Accessory  
With ignition in theAccessory po-  
sition, the XM FM Direct Adapter  
is always on in a standby condi-  
tion. When you turn on your XM  
radio, the adapter will automati-  
cally switch the vehicle stereo  
input from your FM antenna to an  
XM signal  
Changing the Transmitting Fre-  
quency  
The XM FM Direct allows you to  
input the signal from your XM  
radio directly into your vehicle’s  
radio.  
Your Audiovox XM FM DirectAdapter contains the following components:

You can select the frequency on  
which the broadcast is sent from  
your XM radio controls in the  
same manner as you would for  
the wireless modulation mode.  
(See your XM radio user manual  
for more information.) Set your  
vehicle’s radio to the same FM  
frequency as the one selected for  
your XM radio.

existing wire harnesses or other  
under-dash structures, or  
placed under a seat. The

from causing annoying rattles or
