Setting up PXT
access
Press Menu key.
Scroll to Tools. Press Options. Scroll to Open. Press Select.
Scroll to Settings. Press Options. Scroll to Open. Press Select.
Scroll to Connection. Press Options. Scroll to Open. Press Select.
Scroll to Access Points. Press Options. Scroll to Open. Press Select.
Press Options. Scroll to New Access Point. Press Select.
Scroll to Use Default Settings. Press Select.
Scroll to Connection Name. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Enter ‘VFNZ PXT’. Press OK.
Scroll to data Bearer. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to GPRS. Press OK.
Scroll to Access Point Name. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Enter ‘live.vodafone.com’. Press OK.
Scroll to User Name. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Ensure this is empty (use the ‘c’ key to delete). Press OK.
Scroll to Prompt Password. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to No. Press OK.
Scroll to Password. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Ensure this is empty (use the ‘c’ key to delete). Press OK.
Scroll to Authentication. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Normal. Press OK.
Scroll to Gateway IP Address. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Enter ’172.030.038.003’. (use joystick to toggle across full stops). Press OK.
Scroll to Homepage. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Connection Security. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Off. Press OK.
Scroll to Session Mode. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Permanent. Press OK.
Press Back twice.
Press Menu key.
Scroll to Messaging. Press Options. Scroll to Open. Press Select.
Press Options. Scroll to Settings. Press Select.
Scroll to Multimedia Message. Press Options. Scroll to Open. Press Select.
Scroll to Preferred Connection. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to VFNZ PXT. Press Options. Scroll to Select. Press Select.
Scroll to Secondary Connection. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to None. Press Options. Scroll to Select. Press Select.
Scroll to Multimedia Reception. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Only In Home Network. Press OK.
Scroll to On Receiving Message. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Retrieve Immediately. Press OK.
Scroll to Allow Anonymous Messages. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press
Select.
Scroll to Yes. Press OK.
Scroll to Receive Adverts. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Yes. Press OK.
Scroll to Receive Report. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to No. Press OK.
Scroll to Deny Report Sending. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to No. Press OK.
Scroll to Message Validity. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Maximum Time. Press OK.
Scroll to Image Size. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to Small. Press OK.
Scroll to Speaker. Press Options. Scroll to Change. Press Select.
Scroll to loudspeaker. Press OK.
Press hang-up key to exit to normal mode screen.

Press the Menu button. Scroll to Messaging. Press the Options button, scroll to Open then
press select
To send a PXT
Scroll to New Message. Press Options. Scroll to Create message. Press select.
Scroll to Multimedia message. Press select.
To send to another mobile:
In the To field type in the receipiants phone number.
To send to an email address:
Hold down the # key for 3 seconds. You will see the numbers in the right hand corner
change to Abc.
You can now type in the receipants email address.
(press the 1 key six times to get the @ symbol)
Once you have entered the To details press the down arrow on the direction pad.
Press the Options button. Scroll to Insert. Scroll to Image (or Video Clip if sending video).
Press select.
Select Phone memory or Memory card (by default picutres should be saved to Phone
memory) then press OK
Select the image you want to send then press select.
Then press the options button. Scroll to Send the press select.

Setting up a GPRS Data
account.
Press Menu and select Tools.
Press Settings and select Connection.
Select Access Points.
Press Options and select New Access Point.
Select Use Default Settings.
Select Connection Name and enter GPRS Internet.
Select Data Bearer and set to GPRS.
Leave User name and Password blank.
Select Prompt Password and set to No.
Select Authentication and set to Secure.
Leave Gateway IP Address set to 0.0.0.0
Select Back to finish.
It is important this Data
Account is created first.
This Data Account allows
the phone to access your
ISP email over Vodafone’s
GPRS Network.
Your GPRS Account is now set-up and ready to go.
Setting up a GPRS Email
Account Using Your
Existing ISP.
Press Menu and select Messaging select Open.
Press Options and select Settings.
Select Email and then select Mailboxes select Open.
Press Options and select New Mailbox.
Select Mailbox Name and enter the name of your ISP (e.g. Clear, iHug, etc.)
Select Access Point In Use and select GPRS Internet.
Select My Email Address and enter your ISP email address.
Select Outgoing Mail Server and enter smtp.vodafone.net.nz
Select Send Message and set to Immediately.
Select Send Copy To Self and set to No.
Select Include Signature and set to No.
Select Username and enter your ISP Mailbox Username (this is usually the
same as your Dial-up username.)
Select Password and enter your ISP Mailbox Password (this is usually the
same as your Dial-up password.)
Select Incoming Mail Server and enter your ISP Incoming Mail Address (e.g.
pop3.clear.net.nz) Confirm your details by contacting your current ISP.
Select Mailbox Type and set to POP3.
Select Security and set to Off.
Select APOP Secure Login and set to Off.
For this you will require the
following Mail Account
details from your current
ISP.
Internet Service Provider
Incoming mail server
Outgoing mail server
Email address
Mail account username
Mail account password
Please contact your Internet
Service Provider for these
details.
Select Back to finish. Your new Email account will now be listed under
Mailboxes.
Press Back and Select Mailbox In Use press options and select Change
You can now select the Email account you have set up.
Your new Email account is now set-up and ready to go.
Sending and Receiving
Email
Press Menu and select Messaging.
Highlight your new email account and press Options.
Select Connect.
Your Nokia 3650 will display Connecting To Mailbox.
You are now connected to GPRS and may send and receive emails by
selecting the desired options from the Options list.
