Electronic devices
Other medical devices
Most modern electronic equipment is
shielded from RF signals. However, cer-
tain electronic equipment may not be
shielded against the RF signals from
your mobile phone.
If you use any other personal medical
device, consult the manufacturer of
your device to determine if it is
adequately shielded from external RF
signals. Your physician may be able to
assist you in obtaining this information.
Pacemakers
The Health Industry Manufacturers As-
sociation recommends that a minimum
separation of 2.5 cm be maintained
between a handheld mobile phone
and a pacemaker to avoid potential
interference with the pacemaker.
These recommendations are consistent
with the independent research by and
recommendations of Wireless Tech-
nology Research.
Turn your phone off in health care facil-
ities when any regulations posted in
these areas instruct you to do so.
Hospitals or health care facilities may
be using equipment that could be sen-
sitive to external RF signals.
Potentially explosive atmospheres
Turn your phone off when in any area
with a potentially explosive atmosphere
and obey all signs and instructions.
Sparks in such areas could cause an
explosion or fire resulting in bodily
injury or even death.
Persons with pacemakers:
- Should always keep the phone more
than 2.5 cm from their pacemaker
when the phone is turned on.
Areas with potentially explosive atmo-
sphere are often but not always clearly
marked. They include fuelling areas
such as petrol stations, below deck on
boats, fuel or chemical transfer or stor-
age facilities, vehicles using liquefied
petroleum gas (such as propane or bu-
tane), areas where the air contains
chemicals or particles, such as grain,
dust, or metal powders, and any other
area where you would normally be
advised to turn off your vehicle engine.
- Should not carry the phone in a breast
pocket.
- Should use the ear opposite the pace-
maker to minimize the potential for
interference.
- If you have any reason to suspect that
interference is taking place, turn your
phone off immediately.
Hearing aids
Some digital mobile phones may inter-
fere with some hearing aids. In the
event of such interference, you may
want to consult your network operator
or service provider or call the customer
service line to discuss alternatives.
Airbags
An airbag inflates with great force.
Do not place objects, including in-
stalled or portable mobile equipment in
the area over the airbag or in the airbag
deployment area. If in-vehicle mobile
equipment is improperly installed and
the airbag inflates, serious injury could
result.

Fixed dialling
Call timers and charge
In order to enable you to make use of fixed dial-
ling numbers stored in an alternative phone book
defined by you, select Fixed dialling on.
Having selected
Fixed dialling on your ordinary phone
book will not be visible on the display and can
thus not be accessed, but, of course, it will remain
on your SIM card and can be accessed again by
selecting Fixed dialling off.
Your telephone can display the actual duration
and cost of an ongoing conversation if you so
wish. It can also show you the duration and cost
of the last call and all calls made with your SIM
card since the timer was last reset. However, the
call charge feature must be supported by your
network.
In order to be able to see the cost in the display
you have to enter a unit price and the actual cur-
rency. You can also enter a maximum call charge
limit, so that when this maximum has been
reached no more phone calls can be made. The
telephone will inform you about the remaining
call charge balance.
Barred dialling
If you have a barred dialling phone book on your
SIM card you must select
Barred dialling on to enable it.
Having selected Barred dialling on any
attempt to make a call will make the phone com-
pare the dialled number with the numbers stored
in this special phone book. If the dialled number

call will be refused.
To enter or change call charge and currency you
