How to use your Vacuum Cleaner:
Dry Vacuuming
Your Black & Decker vacuum cleaner has been designed
to vacuum wet and dry substances. This product is
intended for household use only.
If the appliance has already been operated for wet
cleaning, ensure that all accessories, filters and the dust
filter are properly dried & fitted.
Do not use this appliance outdoors.
Assembly:
Warning: The dust filter (see fig. O) and dust bag (19)
must be attached to the appliance before dry
vacuuming.
Fig. A - Connecting the hose
The floor brush or any accessory may be used whilst dry
vacuuming. When operating the appliance, make sure
that the hose is not trapped, twisted or blocked. In case
of overheating, a cut-out will operate and the appliance
will automatically stop. If the appliance stops operating,
unplug the appliance and allow it to cool for 2-3 hours
before continuing. Note: Never use the Vacuum to pick
up anything burning or smoking (matches, cigarettes,
hot ashes, etc.)
Insert the hose connector (11) into the hose inlet (10).
Push the hose until the release button clicks into place.
To disconnect the hose, press the release button and
pull out the hose.
Fig. B - Assembling the extension tubes (13)
Push the lower tube firmly into the upper tube until they
fit tightly.
Fig. C - Fitting the floor head
Figs. O, T & U - Wet Vacuuming
The floor head (17) can be used for vacuuming on
carpet and hard surfaces (e.g. laminate and tiles). Push
the tube (13) into the floor head (17). To remove the floor
head, pull it from the tube.
Remove the dust filter (see fig. O). Remove the dust bag
(19). Only the wet surface tool (14) must be used during
wet vacuuming.
To remove the dust filter, the cap shown in fig. T must be
removed. Turn this anti-clockwise to remove and clock-
wise to re-fit. After the cap is removed, the filter can be
slid off the plastic cage. To ensure that there is no water
remaining in the hose and tubes after use hold these
parts UPWARD before switching off the appliance.
Figs. D, E, F & N - Fitting the accessories
The crevice tool (16) is designed to help vacuum in
narrow and hard-to reach places. The small brush (15)
can be used to vacuum furniture, blinds, curtains,
windows and stairs. The wet surface tool (14) is
designed to help pick up wet spills.
During ‘wet’ cleaning, when the liquid level reaches to
maximum the float (see fig.U) will automatically block the
motor entrance and suction will be cut off. In order to
continue cleaning, empty the container (7) and restart.
Push the accessory onto the hose handle (12) or the
tube (13) as required. To remove an accessory, pull the
accessory from the hose handle or the tube. The
accessories can be stored in the recesses above each
wheel (9).
If the Vacuum overturns during use, unplug it from the
electrical supply then stand it back on its wheels again.
The Vacuum can then be re-connected to the electrical
supply & continue vacuuming.
Use:
Figs. P, Q & V - Unwinding and rewinding the power
cord
Fig. I, J & K - ‘Blower’ Function
Connect the power cord to a suitable power supply.
After use, unplug the cord and wrap it around the cord
storage recess (3) in the motor housing. A clip is
provided to fasten the plug to the wrapped cord.
Ensure the dust bag has been removed from the unit
before using the blower function. Remove the blower
cover lid (5) and insert the hose connector (20) into the
hose inlet (10).
Fig. G - Adjusting the suction head
Fig. L & M - Emptying the dust-bag
For vacuuming on carpets, switch the brush actuator to
the up position. For vacuuming on laminates, tiles, etc.,
switch the brush actuator to the down position. Take
care not to trap fingers when adjusting the brush
position.
If the suction drops significantly drops, this indicates that
the bag is full, or the filter is saturated and needs to be
cleaned. To empty the dust-bag, first unplug the vacuum
from the electrical supply.
Lift both latches to the open position & lift the motor unit
from its location. Then empty the bag into a suitable
container.
