INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION
Turn off electrical power at breaker!
1. Mount bracket to joist using the two wood screws provided (figure 1).
NOTE: For 1⁄2" sheetrock, flush the bottom step of bracket to the bottom of the joist. For 5⁄8" sheetrock, flush the second step of
bracket to the bottom of the joist (figure 2).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING AN EXISTING BOX THROUGH A 4" HOLE
Turn off electrical power at breaker!
1. Remove the bracket by removing the two nylon locknuts inside the box (figure 3).
NOTE: For 1 2" sheetrock, flush the bottom step of bracket to the bottom of the joist. For 5
⁄ ⁄8" sheetrock, flush the second step
of bracket to the bottom of the joist (figure 4).
2. Remove old box and bracket. Mount the sidemount bracket to the joist using the two wood screws provided (figure 5).
3. Pull wire into box and remount the box to the bracket using the two nylon locknuts (figure 6). Do not overtighten
locknuts.
4. Mount fan bracket or chandelier to the threaded post using the 10-24 x 3⁄4" bolts provided. Mount cover plates or lightweight
fixtures to the box ears using 8-32 screws. Complete installation according to fan or fixture manufacturer’s instructions.
