3. Unplug this product from telephone jacks before clean-

ing. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp

cloth for cleaning.

4. Do not use this product near water,or when you are wet.

For example, do not use it in a wet basement or near a

swimming pool,bathtub,shower,kitchen sink,wash bowl

or laundry tub.

5. Install this product securely on a stable surface. Serious

damage may result if the product falls and it will void

your warranty.

6. Install this product in a location where no one can step

on or trip over the cords.

7. Do not place objects on the cord that may cause damage

or abrasion. Do not locate this product where persons

walking on it will abuse the cord.

8. Use only with Class 2 power source,plug polarity,9V DC,

200 ma, AC/DC adapter.

9. Never insert any objects into this product through case

openings.They may touch dangerous voltage points or

10. If this product does not operate normally, see the “Main-

tenance” section in this owner’s manual. If you cannot

11. If the product comes in contact with any liquids,unplug

the line cord and AC adapter immediately. Do not plug

the product back in until it has been dried thoroughly.

Liquid damage will void the warranty.

12. During thunderstorms,avoid using telephones. There may

be a slight chance of electric shock from lightning.

13. Do not use a telephone in the vicinity of a gas leak. If you

suspect a gas leak, report it immediately, and use a tel-

ephone away from the area where gas is leaking.

Checking the Package Contents

Make sure you have received the following items in the

package.

• Telephone

• AC/DC Adapter

• Wall Mount Bracket

• Handset Cord

• Seven Foot Line Cord

• Handset

Make sure you have a modular wall jack near the place you

have chosen to install the unit. If you have an older phone

jack, you’ll need to buy a modular jack adapter. If the wall

jack is more than 7 feet away, you will need a longer line

cord or if the AC outlet is more than 5 feet away you will

need an AC adapter with the same voltages that has a longer

cord.

Wall Mounting

1. Remove the Handset from the Handset Cradle and slide

the plastic Handset Tab (located just below the Hook

Switch) up and out of its slot.

2. Turn the Handset Tab around and reinsert the tab back

into its slot so that the plastic tab extends outward acting

as a hook to hold the Handset when mounted on the wall.

3. Turn the phone over so that you are looking at the bottom

of the phone. Attach the removable Wall Mount Bracket

into the Wall Mount Slots at the bottom of the phone.

The back of the phone should then have two round plas-

tic holes which can be used to hang your phone on the

wall.

5. When “SET LDS CODE” appears,

press REVIEW UP ▲ button to

change the long distance code

from -,0,1,2,~9.When you are fin-

ished, Press DIAL. The display will indicate as shown

(Stand-By Screen) and be ready to receive incoming calls.

You have to set the LDS code as“1”when you are in the

USA or Canada.

6. The time and date are automati-

cally set when a caller ID (CID)

number is received.The unit will

keep the current time accurately,

and is updated each time a CID

Pulse And Tone Dialing

1. If your home is equipped with a touch tone dialing sys-

tem, set the TONE switch to the Tone position.

2. If your home is equipped with a rotary (pulse) dialing

system, set the PULSE switch to the Pulse position.

3. If you are unsure which system you have, set the switch

to the TONE position. Lift the handset.When you get a

dial tone,dial a telephone number.If the dial tone contin-

The PAUSE button allows you to insert a 3.6 second pause in

the dialing sequence.This is particularly useful if you are con-

nected to a PABX system where you must dial an access code

1. Press the PAUSE button once and release at any point in

the dialing sequence where a pause is desired.

2. The PAUSE button can be pressed more than once to

Service

The “caller identification” service (Caller ID) allows the call-

er’s phone number and/or name to be shown on the display

as the call comes in before you pick up the phone. In order

to use this feature, YOU MUST FIRST SUBSCRIBE TO THE

pany. The name of this service may vary depending on your

If you have a voice mailbox service with your telephone com-

pany, another indicator marked MESSAGE will flash to alert

you to dial your telephone company to check your new mes-

sages.

The MESSAGE indicator also monitors the unit’s situation.

When the phone is in use, the MESSAGE indicator will be on

continuously. If the indicator is flashing quickly, it means the

phone is ringing. If it is not ringing and the light is flashing,

the unit has experienced a power outage.
