Serial interfaces and modem compatible
Com m unication – Sim ple and efficient via tw o serial interfaces: TOOL-Port and COM-Port (RS232C interface).
Programming interface TOOL-Port (also for communication)
In Com puter Link m ode, this port offers access to the entire FP0 m em ory area. For exam ple during data exchange between
a host PC running SCADA software and an FP0 PLC, the Windows® based MEWNET-DDE Server assum es total control of
the com m unications protocol (MEWTOCOL.COM). Therefore the user can disregard the allocation of data ranges and
transfer param eters, because there is no additional program m ing required. The program m er is thus free to concentrate
exclusively on the project application requirem ents.

In addition to the Com puter Link com m unication possibilities described above, the optional integrated RS232C COM-Port

i.e. General Purpose. In this configuration it is possible to realise com m unication connections with different RS232C

FP0 PROFIBUS DP Slave or Remote I/O Unit
For cost effective control of distributed field device
The FP0 DPS2 can operate either as a DP slave m odule or as a rem ote I/O
system to which different decentralised inputs and outputs can be
connected. A DIP switch can be used to switch between the two m odes:
Mode 1:
DP-Slave m odule. Connect the FP0 or FP∑ (Sigm a) CPU + expansion
m odules to the PROFIBUS network.
Mode 2:
Rem ote I/O. Connect up to three expansion m odules without CPU to the
PROFIBUS network.
In Rem ote I/O m ode the unit can be connected to any PLC which offers a
PROFIBUS com m unication interface, m aking it totally independent of
NAiS PLCs.

The FP0 can be used as a slave station for MEWNET-F (rem ote I/ O system ) by adding I/ O link unit.
MEWNET-F is a reduced-wiring rem ote I/O system that connects PLCs
located separately and I/O slave stations with 2-core cabling. By adding an

FP0 Thermocouple Input Expansion Units
Enable high precision temperature control at low cost
The FP0-TC4 and FP0-TC8 therm ocouple units are suitable for user
Tem perature control
friendly tem perature acquisition using standard therm ocouples with
high precision.
➝ Up to three units can be added to each control unit, enabling
tem perature control of up to 24 channels.
➝ The tem perature data obtained using the therm ocouple is converted to
the digital value to be read into the FP0 control unit.
➝ Standard types of therm ocouples can be used: K, J , T and R
➝ 3 tem perature m easurem ent ranges are available:
-100°C to +500°C (Therm ocouple types: K and J )
-100°C to +400°C (Therm ocouple type : T)
- 0°C to +1500°C (Therm ocouple type : R)
➝ The tem perature data m easured using the sensor is converted to
degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit inside the Therm ocouple Unit.

The analogue units can be used with the FP0 and FP∑ (Sigm a) so wide range applications are possible from sm all-
scale m achines to factory production system s.
Each CPU supports up to 3 FP0 analogue units. Com bination with digital and analogue expansion units is freely allowed.
Highest perform ance is offered with 12-bit resolution. With a current and voltage output conversion tim e of up to
500µs, the units are capable of high-speed processing.
The m ultim ode FP0 analogue unit can be configured via the DIP switches on the front side into the required analogue
ranges. Com m unication with the FP0 CPU unit is achieved via the expansion bus. The expansion bus is autom atically
connected after the FP0 analogue unit is connected to the FP0 CPU unit.

FP0 RTD Input Expansion Unit
User friendly acquisition of temperatures with high precision
Features

connection cables, backplanes, and so forth are unnecessary as the
expansion unit em ploys a stacking system that uses expansion
