We ask that any electrical appliance that   you use be operated in a sensible fashion with due care and attention   placed on the following important operating instructions.   Important Safeguards For Your Kambrook   Dome Kettle   • Carefully read all instructions before   operating the Kettle for the first time and   save for future reference.   • Always ensure the Kettle is properly   assembled before use. Follow the   instructions provided in this book.   • Remove and safely discard any   packaging material and promotional   labels before using the Kettle for the   first time.   • The Kettle must be used only with the   power base supplied.   • The Kettle is not intended to be operated   by means of an external timer or separate   remote control system.   • To eliminate a choking hazard for young   children, remove and safely discard the   protective cover fitted to the power plug   of this Kettle.   • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle   for lifting and carrying the Kettle.   • Do not place anything on top of the lid.   • This Kettle has been designed specifically   for the purpose of boiling drinking quality   water only. Under no circumstances   should this product be used to boil any   other liquids or foodstuffs.   • Always switch the power off at the power   outlet and remove the power plug from   the power outlet before attempting to   move the Kettle, when the Kettle is not in   use and before cleaning and storing.   • Do not place the Kettle near the edge of   a bench or table during operation. Ensure   that the surface is level, clean and free of   water and other substances.   • Use caution when pouring water   from the Kettle, as boiling water and   steam will scald. Do not pour the water   too quickly.   • Do not operate the Kettle on a sink   drain board.   • To protect against electric shock, do not   immerse the Kettle base, power base,   power cord or power plug in water and   any other liquid or allow moisture to come   in contact with these parts.   • Do not place the Kettle on or near a hot   gas burner, electric element or where it   could touch a heated oven.   • Keep the Kettle clear of walls, curtains   and other heat or steam sensitive   materials. Ensure the   Kettle has switched off after the water   has boiled or reached the selected   temperature, before removing the Kettle   from the power base.   WARNING: Do not   operate the kettle on an   inclined surface. Do not   move the kettle while it is   switched on.   • Do not move the Kettle while it is   switched on.   • Do not overfill the Kettle past the ‘MAX’   mark which is indicated inside the Kettle.   If the Kettle is overfilled, boiling water may   be ejected.   WARNING: Do not   remove the lid while water   is boiling.   • Do not open the lid during operation.   • Keep the Kettle clean. Follow the   cleaning instructions provided in this   book (page 9).   Important Safeguards For All   Electrical Appliances   • Fully unwind the power cord before use.   • This appliance is for household use only.   Do not use this appliance for anything   other than its intended use. Do not use   in moving vehicles or boats. Do not use   outdoors. Misuse may cause injury.   • The installation of a residual current   device (safety switch) is recommended   to provide additional safety protection   when using electrical appliances. It is   advisable that a safety switch with a   rated residual operating current not   exceeding 30mA be installed in the   electrical circuit supplying the appliance.   See your electrician for professional   advice.   • Connect only to a 230V or 240V   power outlet.   • Do not let the power cord hang over   the edge of a bench or table, touch hot   surfaces or become knotted.   • To protect against electric shock do not   immerse the kettle, base, power cord or   power plug in water or any   other liquid.   • The appliance is not intended for use by   persons (including children) with reduced   physical, sensory or mental capabilities,   or lack of experience and knowledge,   unless they have been given supervision   or instruction concerning use of the   appliance by a person responsible for   their safety.   • Always turn the appliance to the OFF   position, switch off at the power outlet   and unplug at the power outlet when the   appliance is not in use.   • Children should be supervised to ensure   that they do not play with the appliance.   • Before cleaning, always turn the   appliance to the OFF position, switch off   at the power outlet, unplug at the power   outlet and remove the power cord, if   detachable, from the appliance and   allow all parts to cool.   • It is recommended to regularly inspect   the appliance.To avoid a hazard do not   use the appliance if power cord,power   plug or appliance becomes damaged in   any way.Return the entire appliance to   the nearest authorised Kambrook Service   Centre for examination and/or repair.   • Do not place this appliance on or near   a heat source, such as hot plate, oven or   heaters.   • Any maintenance other than cleaning   should be performed at an authorised   Kambrook Service Centre.   • Position the appliance at a minimum   distance of 20cm away from walls,   curtains and other heat or steam sensitive   materials and provide adequate space   above and on all sides for air circulation.   5 Download from Www.Somanuals.com. Place the kettle firmly onto   the power base and plug the   power cord into a 230V or   240V power outlet.   4. Press the ON/OFF switch to   the‘ON’ position.The power ‘ON’   light will illuminate.   5. The kettle will automatically switch   OFF once the water has boiled.   Lift the kettle from the power base   and pour the water.Take care to   hold the kettle level, especially   when filled to the maximum level.   To re-boil it may be necessary to   wait for a few seconds to allow   the control to reset.   6. The kettle should be stored on   its power base when not in use.   The power outlet should be   switched off and the power cord   unplugged from the power outlet   when not in use.   Before First Use   Remove any packaging material and   promotional labels before using your   kettle for the first time.   It is recommended before the first use   to fill the kettle to the maximum level   with cold tap water, bring to the boil   and then discard the water.   Your kettle will only operate when   positioned on the power base   with the ON/OFF switch in the ‘ON’   position. The kettle will automatically   switch OFF once the boiling cycle has   been completed.   Operation Of Your Kettle   1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the   multi-directional power base and   pull up on the lid to open. Fill with   the desired amount of water. Do   not operate the kettle without   water. Never fill the kettle above   the ‘MAX’ mark, which is indicated   inside the kettle (Fig. 1).Too   NOTE: This kettle must only be used   with the multi-directional power   base supplied. Use caution when   pouring water from your kettle as   boiling water will scald. Do not   pour the water too quickly   much water could result in water   splashing out of the kettle; too   little water will result in the kettle   switching off.   NOTE: Never operate the kettle   dry - too little water will result in   the kettle switching off. Do not fill   above the MAX mark as boiling   water may splash out from the   kettle. The ‘MAX’ mark is shown   on the steam tube cap inside   the kettle.   Fig. 1   2. All Manuals Search And Download.   Using Your Dome Kettle   continued   Boil Dry Protection   NOTE: Do not remove the kettle   from the power base during   operation. Ensure the kettle has   switched to the ‘OFF’ position   after the water has boiled before   removing the kettle from the   power base.   This kettle is fitted with a safety device,   which protects against overheating   should your appliance be operated   with insufficient water. If this occurs   the kettle will stop heating and   automatically switch “OFF”.   Should this occur,switch off at the   power outlet and unplug.Allow the   kettle to cool down before refilling.   Remove the kettle from the power   base and add water.Return the kettle   to the power base.The safety device   will automatically reset.   The kettle may be stored on the multi-   directional power base when not in   use.The power should be switched   off at the power outlet and then   unplugged when not in use.   For additional safety your kettle is   fitted with an additional thermal cut-   out. In the event of overheating, the   kettle will automatically shut down   to prevent further damage. Should   this occur, take your kettle to an   authorised Kambrook Service Centre.   cAUTION: This   appliance is designed   for the boiling of   drinking quality water   only; never use it to heat   or boil any other liquids   or foodstuffs. The lid   should always be firmly   in place and locked   closed before use.   cAUTION: Do not   remove the lid while   the water is boiling.   Ensure the lid is closed   whilst boiling.   8 Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.   care, cleaning and Storage   Always switch appliance OFF, then   NOTE: Ensure the kettle and   water have cooled down before   attempting to clean the filter.   switch off at the power outlet and   then unplug before cleaning   the appliance.   Mineral Deposits and   Discolouration   Due to the large surface area of the   concealed element interior base,   discolouration due to mineral deposits   will appear more obvious.The mineral   deposits can leave a brown stain on   the base.THIS IS NOT RUST.   WARNING: Never   immerse the kettle base,   switch area, power base   or power supply cord in   water or allow moisture   to come in contact with   these parts.   To remove the discolouration follow   the cleaning instructions “Removal of   Mineral Deposits”.   Cleaning the Exterior   & Removable Filter   The exterior surface may be wiped   over with a damp cloth and polished   with a soft clean dry cloth.   Removal of Mineral Deposits   Mineral deposits in tap water may   cause the kettle interior to discolour   over time.   NOTE: Do not use chemicals,   steel wool, or abrasive cleaners   to clean the outside of the kettle.   This may be removed by using a kettle   descaler which is available from most   leading supermarkets, department   and hardware stores.   Alternatively: Fill the kettle with 3 cups   of white vinegar and the remainder   (up to 2⁄3 of maximum) with water, boil   and allow to stand overnight.   Empty the solution from the kettle.   Fill the kettle with clean water, bring   to the boil and discard the water.   Repeat and the kettle will be ready   for use.   cAUTION: To prevent   damage to the   appliance do not   use alkaline cleaning   agents when cleaning;   use a soft cloth and   mild detergents.   Storage   The filter fitted inside the kettle over   the spout is removable by sliding in   and out of position.The filter can be   washed in warm, soapy water.   Ensure the kettle is switched off,   cleaned and dried before storing.   Ensure that the lid is closed and   locked firmly into place.Wrap the   power cord around the cord storage   under the power base. Stand the   kettle upright on the power base. Do   not store anything on top.   TIP: The filter could become   damaged with time, please   check regularly and replace if   found damaged.   9 Download from Www.Somanuals.com.
