true design principles and innovative features.
Features
T
•
•
THX-approved.
•
•
Electronically balanced XLR inputs and
binding post outputs (export models feature
touch-proof binding post outputs).
Simple, reliable design incorporates many
popular features.
XLSTX Series amplifiers are professional stereo
power amplifiers engineered to meet demand-
ing audio requirements—reliably and within
budget. They are THX®-approved.* Plus, every
XLSTX Series amplifier is backed by Crown’s
unequaled Three-Year, No-Fault, Fully-Trans-
ferable Warranty.
Features precision detented level controls,
power switch, and four LEDs, which indi-
cate clip for each channel, power and fault
conditions.
•
•
Selectable high-pass filter on each channel
enables amplifier to work more efficiently
when full band-width is not required.
Pair of linear optocoupler clip limiters pro-
tects loudspeakers from being overdriven.
•
Three-Year, No-Fault, Fully-Transferable
Warranty completely protects your invest-
ment and guarantees its specifications.
•
•
Housed in a rugged, all-steel 3U chassis.
With over five decades of experience designing
and building rock-solid products, Crown is the
standard in amp technology. So check out the
affordable, Crown XLSTX Series. They are a
powerful argument for quality and value!
Efficient forced-air fan prevents excessive
thermal buildup.
Damping Factor (8 ohm) 10 Hz to 400 Hz: >200.
Crosstalk (below rated power)
at 1 kHz: –82 dB.

Level: Two front-panel rotary level controls,
one for each channel. Blanking plugs cover
the level controls to prevent tampering.
at 20 kHz: –58 dB.
Power: Front-panel switch; on when in the UP
position.
Voltage Gain (at maximum output): 31 dB.
Specifications
Filter Switches: One per channel; three-posi-
tion back-panel switches set the internal high-
pass filter frequency. Frequency setting is 30
Hz when switch is in left position; 15 Hz when
switch is centered; and bypassed when switch is
in right position.
The following applies to units in Stereo mode with 8-ohm loads
and rated input sensitivity unless otherwise specified.
Power
Output Power:
Performance
Sensitivity (volts RMS) for full rated power at
4 ohms: 1.025.
TX
Limiter Switch: Back-panel switch offers loud-
speaker protection against moderate amplifier
clip when set to the “IN” position.
Frequency Response (at 1 watt) 20 Hz to 20
kHz: 0.75 dB.
Fuse: Provides overload protection.
Phase Response (degrees at 1 watt)
at 10 Hz: –10.
Indicators
at 20 kHz: +19.
Clip: Two front-panel red LEDs, one for each
channel, illuminate when the channel’s output
signal is being overdriven.
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (20 Hz to 20 kHz)
A-weighted, below rated power: > 100 dB.
No weighting, below rated power: > 97 dB.
Load Impedance: Safe with all types of loads.
Rated for 2 to 8 ohms.
Power: Green front-panel LED indicates
amplifier has been turned on and AC power
is available.
AC Line Voltage and Frequency Configura-
tions Available ( 10%): 120 VAC/60Hz and
230 VAC/50 Hz.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at full band-
width power, from 20 Hz to 1 kHz: < 0.15%.
Fault: Yellow front-panel LED illuminates when
amplifier is in protect mode. Also illuminates
briefly during normal power-up when amplifier
is first switched on.
Intermodulation Distortion (IMD): (60 Hz and
7 kHz at 4:1) from full rated output to –40 dB:
< 0.3%.
