The Braun ThermoScan thermometer has been carefully developed for
accurate, safe and fast temperature measurements in the ear.
The shape of the thermometer probe prevents it from being inserted too far into
the ear canal which can hurt the eardrum.
However, as with any thermometer, proper technique is critical to obtaining
accurate temperatures. Therefore, read the use instructions carefully and
thoroughly.

The operating ambient temperature range for this thermometer is 50 –104°F
(10–40°C).
Do not expose the thermometer to temperature extremes (below –4 °F /
–20°C or over 122°F / 50°C) nor excessive humidity (> 95% RH).
This thermometer must only be used with genuine Braun ThermoScan Lens
Filters.
To avoid inaccurate measurements always use this thermometer with a new,
clean lens filter attached.
If the thermometer is accidentally used without a lens filter attached, clean the
lens (see «Care and cleaning»).

Use of this thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consultation with

How does Braun ThermoScan work?
Braun ThermoScan measures the infrared heat generated by the eardrum and
surrounding tissues. To help to avoid inaccurate temperature measurements,
the probe tip is warmed to a temperature close to that of the human body. When
the Braun ThermoScan is placed in the ear, it continuously monitors the infrared
energy.
The measurement is finished and the result displayed when the thermometer
detects that an accurate temperature measurement has been taken.
Why measure in the ear?
The goal of thermometry is to measure core body temperature1 which is the
temperature of the vital organs. Ear temperatures accurately reflect core body
temperature2, since the eardrum shares blood supply with the temperature
control center in the brain3, the hypothalamus. Therefore, changes in body
temperature are reflected sooner in the ear than at other sites.

Axillary temperatures measure skin temperature and therefore, may not be a
reliable indicator of core body temperature.

Oral temperatures are influenced by drinking, eating and mouth breathing.
Rectal temperatures often lag behind changes in core body temperature and
there is a risk of cross-contamination.

Normal body temperature is a range. The following table shows
that this normal range also varies by site. Therefore, measurements
from different sites should not be directly compared.

The range of normal also varies from person to person and fluctuates
throughout the day. It is therefore important to determine normal
temperature ranges. This is easily done using Braun ThermoScan.
Practice taking temperatures on yourself and healthy family members
to determine the normal temperature range.
Note: When consulting your physician, communicate that the
ThermoScan temperature is a temperature measured in the ear and
if possible, note the individual’s normal ThermoScan temperature
range as additional reference.

How to use your Braun ThermoScan
1. To achieve accurate measurements, make sure a
new, clean lens filter (1) is in place before each
measurement.

During an internal self-check, the display shows
all segments. Then the last temperature taken will
be displayed together with «MEM».
Wait for the ready signal beep and the ready
symbol in the display.
3. Fit the probe snuggly into the ear canal, then
push and release the Start button (8).

If the probe has been securely inserted into
the ear canal during the complete measuring
process, a long beep will signal the end of the
measuring process. The thermometer detects
that an accurate temperature measurement has
been taken. The result is shown on the display (5).
If you take the temperature of another person,
the «ExacTemp» light (7) can be of help. It flashes
during the measuring process when the probe is
securely positioned, and lights up continuously
when the thermometer detects that an accurate
measurement has been taken.
4. If the probe has not been constantly placed in a
stable position in the ear canal, a sequence of
short beeps will sound, the «ExacTemp» light will
go out and the display will show an error
message («POS» = position error).
5. For the next measurement, eject the used lens
filter (push ejector (4)) and put on a new, clean
lens filter.

Start button once.
IRT 4520: Clear the display by pushing the
«I/O» button once.
Wait for the ready signal. Fit the probe snuggly
into the ear canal, then push and release the
Start button.
The Braun ThermoScan ear thermometer turns off
automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity.
The IRT 4520 can also be turned off by pressing
the «I/O» button for at least three seconds.
The display will shortly flash «OFF» and after
releasing the button it will go blank.
Temperature taking hints
• The right ear measurement may differ from the
measurement taken in the left ear. Therefore,
always take the temperature in the same ear.
• The ear must be free from obstructions or excess
earwax build-up to take an accurate reading.
• External factors may influence ear temperatures,
including when an individual has:
– been lying on one ear or the other
– had their ears covered

– been exposed to very hot or very cold tempera-
tures, or
– been recently swimming or bathing.
In these cases, remove the individual from the
situation and wait 20 minutes prior to taking a
temperature.
• Use the untreated ear if ear drops or other ear
medications have been placed in the ear canal.
Memory mode
The last temperature taken is stored in its memory
and will be automatically displayed when it is turned
on again. The display will show «MEM».
IRT 4520:
This model stores the last 8 temperature measure-
ments. To display the stored measurement, the
thermometer must be turned on. Then press the
«I/O» button for at least 1 second. The display shows
the memory number (e. g. MEM 1), and when
releasing the «I/O» button, the stored temperature
for that memory number is displayed, together with
«MEM». If «I/O» button is pressed too long, the
thermometer will be switched off. Each time the «I/O»
button is pushed, the remaining memory numbers
are displayed (up to MEM 8).
MEM 1 is the most current reading, MEM 8 is the
oldest.
The memory mode is left automatically after
displaying the oldest reading, or after pressing the
«I/O» button for at least 1 second.

Changing the temperature scale
Your Braun ThermoScan is shipped with the
Fahrenheit (°F) temperature scale activated. If you
whish to switch to Celsius (°C) and/or back from
Celsius to Fahrenheit, proceed as follows:
(1)Make sure the thermometer is turned off.
(2)Press and hold down the Start button (IRT 4020)
or the «I/O» button (IRT 4520). After about
3 seconds the display will show this sequence:
«°F»/«SET»/«°C»/«SET» ...
(3)Release the Start button / «I/O» button when the
desired temperature scale is shown. There will be
a short beep to confirm the new setting, then the
thermometer is turned off automatically.
Care and cleaning
The probe tip is the most delicate part of the
thermometer.
It has to be clean and intact to ensure accurate
readings.
If the thermometer is ever accidentally used without
a lens filter, clean the probe tip as follows:
Very gently wipe the surface with a cotton swab or
soft cloth moistened with alcohol. After the alcohol
has completely dried out, you can put a new lens
filter on and take a temperature measurement.
If the probe tip is damaged, contact Braun.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the thermometer display
and exterior.
Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never submerge this
thermometer in water or any other liquid.
Store thermometer and lens filters in a dry location
free from dust and contamination and away from
direct sunlight.
Additional lens filters (LF 40) are available at most
stores carrying Braun ThermoScan.

performance, we recommend Duracell alkaline batteries.

Open the battery compartment. Remove the batteries and replace with
new batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction.
Slide battery door back until it snaps in place.

Calibration
The thermometer is initially calibrated at the time of manufacture.
If this thermometer is used according to the use instructions, periodic
re-adjustment is not required. If at any time you question the accuracy
of temperature measurements, please contact Braun ThermoScan
customer service at 1-800-327-7226.
Manufacturing date is given by the LOT number located in the battery
compartment. The first number after LOT represents the last digit of
the year of manufacture.
The next three digits give the day of the year of manufacture.
An example: LOT 0116 xx xx – this product has been manufactured on
the 116th day of the year 2000.

Braun warrants this product against any defects that are due to faulty material or workmanship
for a period of three years from the original date of consumer purchase or receipt as a gift. This
warranty applies when used for normal household use in accordance with the Use and Care
Manual and excludes the battery and damage to the product resulting from accident or misuse.
This product is not warranted when used in a professional environment.
In no event shall Braun be liable for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages
in connection with the purchase or use of this product or costs over the original cost of the

Comment fonctionne le thermomètre Braun ThermoScan ?
Braun ThermoScan mesure la chaleur infrarouge engendrée par la membrane du
tympan et les tissus environnants. Pour aider à assurer l’exactitude de la prise de
température, la sonde du thermomètre est réchauffée à une température proche
de celle du corps humain. Lorsqu’on place le Braun ThermoScan dans l’oreille,
il assure le contrôle continu de l’énergie infrarouge.
Le processus de mesure est terminé et le résultat s’affiche lorsque le thermo-
mètre détecte qu’une prise de température précise a été effectuée.
Pourquoi mesurer dans l’oreille ?
La thermométrie vise à mesurer la température interne du corps1, soit la tempé-
rature des organes vitaux. La température de l’oreille reflète avec précision la
température interne du corps2, étant donné que la membrane du tympan
partage son apport sanguin avec la région du cerveau qui régule la température3,
l’hypothalamus. Par conséquent, l’oreille perçoit les changements de tempéra-
ture corporelle avant les autres parties du corps.

Bien que la température axillaire corresponde à la température à la surface de
la peau, il est possible qu’elle ne reflète pas de façon fiable la température
interne du corps.

La température rectale est souvent en décalage par rapport aux
changements de la température interne du corps ; en outre, il existe un risque
de contamination croisée.

Si la sonde a été bien introduite dans le conduit
auditif tout au long du processus de prise de
température, un long signal sonore indiquera la
fin du processus de mesure. Le thermomètre
détecte qu’une prise de température adéquate a
été effectuée. Le résultat apparaît sur l’afficheur
(5).
Le voyant « ExacTemp » (7) peut être utile
lorsqu’il s’agit de prendre la température d’une
autre personne. Ce voyant clignote au cours du
processus de mesure lorsque la sonde est bien
positionnée, et s’allume continuellement lorsque
le thermomètre détecte qu’une prise de tempé-
rature précise a été effectuée.
4. Si la sonde n’a pas été placée constamment
en position stable dans le conduit auditif, l’utili-
sateur entendra une série de courts signaux
sonores, le voyant « ExacTemp » s’éteindra
et l’afficheur indiquera un message d’erreur
(« POS » = erreur de position).
5. Pour la prochaine mesure, éjecter le filtre de
lentille usé [appuyer sur l’éjecteur (4)] et fixer un
nouveau filtre de lentille propre.
IRT 4020 : Effacer le message affiché en appu-
yant une fois sur le bouton de mise
en marche.
IRT 4520 : Effacer le message affiché en appu-
yant une fois sur le bouton « I/O ».
Attendre le signal sonore d’état prêt. Bien intro-
duire la sonde dans le conduit auditif, appuyer
sur le bouton de mise en marche, puis le
relâcher.

s’arrête automatiquement après 60 secondes
d’inactivité. Le modèle IRT 4520 peut également être
mis hors tension en appuyant sur le bouton « I/O »
pendant au moins trois secondes.
L’afficheur indiquera le message « OFF » (hors
tension) pendant un court instant et, après avoir
relâché le bouton, ce message disparaîtra.

température
• La température mesurée dans l’oreille droite peut
varier de celle mesurée dans l’oreille gauche.

Ainsi, toujours prendre la température dans la
même oreille.
• Pour effectuer une prise de température précise,
le conduit auditif doit être entièrement dégagé.
Aucun excès de cérumen ne doit s’y trouver.
• Des facteurs extérieurs peuvent influencer la tem-
pérature de l’oreille, notamment si la personne :
– était couchée sur une oreille
– avait les oreilles couvertes
– a été exposée à des températures très élevées
ou très basses, ou
– a récemment nagé, ou pris un bain ou une
douche.
Dans de tels cas, corriger la situation et attendre
20 minutes avant de prendre la température.
• Prendre la température dans l’oreille non traitée si
des gouttes auriculaires ou d’autres médicaments
pour les oreilles ont été appliqués dans le conduit
auditif.
Mode mémoire
La dernière température prise est gardée en mémoire
et s’affiche automatiquement lorsque le thermomètre
est remis en marche. L’afficheur indique alors le
message « MEM ».
IRT 4520 :
Ce modèle permet de conserver les huit dernières
prises de température. Il faut mettre le thermomètre
en marche pour afficher la température enregistrée.
Appuyer ensuite sur le bouton « I/O » pendant au
moins une seconde. L’afficheur indique le numéro de
la mémoire (par exemple, MEM 1) et, lorsqu’on
relâche le bouton « I/O », la température enregistrée
pour ce numéro de mémoire s’affiche, ainsi que le
message « MEM ». Si le bouton « I/O » est enfoncé
trop longtemps, le thermomètre s’éteindra. Chaque
fois que le bouton « I/O » est enfoncé, les numéros de
mémoire restants s’affichent (jusqu’à MEM 8).
MEM 1 correspond à la prise de température la plus
récente, MEM 8, à la prise de température la plus
ancienne.
L’utilisateur quitte automatiquement le mode
mémoire après l’affichage de la prise de température
la plus ancienne ou après avoir appuyé sur le bouton
« I/O » pendant au moins une seconde.

Changement de l’échelle de
température
À sa livraison, l’échelle de température de votre
thermomètre Braun ThermoScan est activée en
degrés Fahrenheit (°F). Pour sélectionner l’échelle de
degrés Celsius (ºC) et/ou pour passer de Celsius à
Fahrenheit, procéder comme suit :
(1)S’assurer que le thermomètre est éteint.
(2)Appuyer sur le bouton de mise en marche
(IRT 4020), ou encore le bouton « I/O » (IRT 4520)
et le tenir enfoncé. Après trois secondes environ,
l’afficheur indiquera cette séquence :
« ºF » / « SET » / « ºC » / « SET » …
(3)Relâcher le bouton de mise en marche
(IRT 4020) / « I/O » (IRT 4520) lorsque l’échelle de
température désirée est affichée. Un court signal
sonore confirmera le nouveau réglage, puis le
thermomètre s’éteindra automatiquement.
Entretien et nettoyage
L’extrémité de la sonde est la partie la plus fragile du
thermomètre.
Elle doit être propre et intacte pour assurer des
résultats précis.
Si le thermomètre est accidentellement utilisé sans
filtre de lentille, nettoyer l’extrémité de la sonde
comme suit :
Essuyer très doucement la surface à l’aide d’un
tampon d’ouate ou d’un chiffon doux humecté
d’alcool. Après avoir laissé l’alcool sécher complète-
ment, fixer un nouveau filtre de lentille et prendre la
température. Si l’extrémité de la sonde est endom-
magée, communiquer avec Braun.
Nettoyer l’afficheur et l’extérieur du thermomètre à
l’aide d’un chiffon doux et sec.
Ne pas utiliser de nettoyants abrasifs. Ne jamais
plonger le thermomètre dans l’eau ni dans aucun
autre liquide.
Ranger le thermomètre et les filtres de lentille dans
un endroit sec, exempt de poussière et d’agents
contaminants, et loin de la lumière directe du soleil.
Des filtres de lentille (LF 40) supplémentaires sont
vendus dans la plupart des magasins offrant le
thermomètre Braun ThermoScan.

Ouvrir le logement de pile. Retirer les piles et les remplacer par des
nouvelles en s’assurant que la polarité est dans la bonne direction.
Remettre le couvercle de pile en le glissant jusqu’à ce qu’il
s’enclenche.
Pour protéger l’environnement, mettre au rebut les
piles épuisées dans un centre de collecte approprié,
conformément aux règlements locaux ou nationaux.
Calibrage
Le thermomètre est calibré à l’origine au moment de la fabrication.
Si ce thermomètre est utilisé conformément aux directives, un rajuste-
ment périodique n’est pas nécessaire. En cas de doute sur la précision
des prises de température, ne pas hésiter à appeler le Service à la
clientèle de Braun ThermoScan au 1 800 327-7226.
La date de fabrication est indiquée par le numéro de LOT situé dans le
logement de pile. Le premier numéro qui suit le LOT représente le
dernier chiffre de l’année de fabrication.
Les trois chiffres qui suivent indiquent le jour de l’année de fabrication.
Par exemple, LOT 0116 xx xx – ce produit a été fabriqué le 116e jour
de l’an 2000.

El termómetro Braun ThermoScan ha sido cuidadosamente diseñado para
tomar la temperatura en el oído de una forma rápida, segura y precisa. La
forma del termómetro está especialmente diseñada para introducirse sólo lo
necesario en el canal auditivo, evitando totalmente el contacto con el
tímpano.
Sin embargo, como en todos los termómetros, la utilización de una
técnica adecuada resulta crucial para obtener mediciones precisas. Por
lo tanto, recomendamos leer detenidamente las instrucciones de uso.
Importante

El rango de temperatura ambiente para el funcionamiento del termómetro
es de: 50 – 104 °F (10 – 40 °C).

No exponga el termómetro a temperaturas extremas (por debajo de

¿Cómo funciona Braun ThermoScan?
Braun ThermoScan mide el calor infrarrojo desprendido por el tímpano y el
tejido adyacente. Para asegurar una mayor precisión, la punta de la sonda se
encuentra a una temperatura similar a la del cuerpo humano. Cuando el
Braun ThermoScan es colocado en el oído, monitorea continuamente la
energía infraroja.
La medición termina y el resultado aparece cuando el termómetro detecta
una medición precisa.
¿Por qué tomar la temperatura en el oído?
El objetivo de la termometría es medir la temperatura central del cuerpo1, la
temperatura de los órganos vitales. Las mediciones efectuadas en el oído
reflejan con precisión la temperatura central del cuerpo2 porque el tímpano
comparte el riego sanguíneo con el hipotálamo, el centro regulador de la
temperatura corporal3. Por tanto, los cambios de temperatura se reflejan
rápidamente y de forma más precisa en el oído que en otras partes del
cuerpo.

La temperatura axilar indica solamente la temperatura en la piel y, por lo
tanto, no es un indicador fiable de la temperatura central del cuerpo.

La temperatura oral puede resultar alterada por la ingestión de alimentos
o bebidas y por factores respiratorios.
La temperatura rectal refleja con retraso los cambios en la temperatura
central del cuerpo y presenta un riesgo de contaminación cruzada.
La temperatura corporal
• La temperatura normal del cuerpo se refleja en un rango. La
siguiente tabla muestra que este rango normal de temperatura
también varía según la parte del cuerpo. En consecuencia, las
mediciones en diferentes partes no deben compararse directa-
mente.

tura y la de los familiares que estén sanos para determinar sus rangos
normales de temperatura.

1. Para asegurar una medición precisa, coloque
siempre un protector higiénico (1) nuevo y limpio
antes de la medición.

Si la sonda fue insertada correctamente en el
canal auditivo durante el proceso completo de
medición, un sonido indicará que ha finalizado
la medición. El termómetro detecta que una
medición exacta de la temperatura ha sido
tomada. El resultado aparece en la pantalla (5).
Si toma la temperatura de otra persona, podrá
observar la iluminación en la pantalla:
«ExacTemp» (7) – Temperatura Exacta. Esta
luz parpadea durante el proceso de medición,
cuando la sonda está colocada de manera
segura, y se ilumina completamente cuando el
termómetro detecta que una medición exacta ha
sido realizada.
4. Si la sonda no ha sido colocada en una posición
estable en el canal auditivo, escuchará una
secuencia de sonidos cortos, la luz «ExacTemp»
se apagará y la pantalla mostrará un mensaje de
error («POS» = posición incorrecta).
5. Para la siguiente medición, retire el protector
higiénico (presione el botón de expulsión (4) y
coloque un protector nuevo).
IRT 4020: Borre la pantalla presionando el botón
de inicio «start».
IRT 4520: Borre la pantalla presionando el
botón «I/O».
Espere la señal. Introduzca la sonda suavemente
en el canal auditivo, presione el botón de inicio
«start».
El termómetro Braun ThermoScan se apaga automáti-
camente después de 60 segundos de inactividad.
El IRT 4520 puede ser también apagado presionando
el botón «I/O» por lo menos durante 3 segundos.
En la pantalla aparecerá «OFF» y al soltar el botón se
borrará completamente.
Consejos para tomar la temperatura
• La temperatura puede variar según sea tomada en
el oído izquierdo o derecho. En consecuencia, es
recomendable tomar siempre la temperatura en el
mismo oído.
• Para conseguir una medición precisa, asegúrese
de que el oído está libre de obstrucciones o de
acumulación de cera.

• Factores externos pueden influir en la tempera-
tura del oído, por ejemplo:
– acostarse sobre un oído
– haber tenido cubiertos los oídos
– estar expuesto a temperaturas muy frías o muy
calientes
– haber nadado o tomado un baño momentos
antes de la medición.
En estos casos, es necesario esperar 20 minutos
después de haber sido retirado de estas condi-
ciones, para tomar la temperatura.
• Si ha colocado algún medicamento a uno de sus
oídos, use el que esté libre de éste.
Modo de memoria
La última temperatura tomada antes de apagarse
el termómetro es almacenada en la memoria y
será mostrada automáticamente al momento de
encenderlo nuevamente. La pantalla mostrará
«MEM».
IRT 4520:
Este modelo permite almacenar hasta 8 tempera-
turas. Para mostrar la temperatura almacenada,
encienda el termómetro y después presione el botón
«I/O» por lo menos durante 1 segundo. La pantalla
muestra el número de memoria (por ejemplo: MEM 1)
y al soltar el botón «I/O», aparecerá la temperatura
almacenada en ese número de memoria. Si el botón
«I/O» es presionado por mucho tiempo, el termó-
metro se apagará. A medida que volvemos a presio-
nar el botón «I/O», las celdas restantes de memoria
irán apareciendo en pantalla (hasta MEM 8).
Siendo MEM 1 la memoria más reciente y MEM 8
la más vieja.
El modo de memoria desaparece automáticamente
después de que se muestra la memoria más vieja,
o presionando el botón «I/O» por lo menos durante
1 segundo.

Cambiando la escala de temperatura
Su Braun ThermoScan esta configurado con la
escala de medición en grados Fahrenheit (°F), si
desea cambiarla a grados Centígrados (°C) y/o de
Centígrados a Fahrenheit, siga el siguiente
procedimiento:
(1)Asegúrese de que el termómetro este apagado.
(2)Presione y mantenga presionado el botón de
«Start» (IRT4020) ó el botón «I/O» (IRT 4520)
después de 3 segundos la pantalla mostrará la
siguiente secuencia: «°F»/«SET»/«°C»/«SET» ...
(3)Libere el botón «start» / «I/O» cuando la escala de
temperatura deseada se muestre en la pantalla.
Escuchará un breve sonido confirmando la
selección, después el termómetro se apagará
automáticamente.
Cuidados y limpieza
La punta de la sonda es la parte más delicada del
termómetro.
Para garantizar mediciones precisas, tiene que estar
limpia e intacta.
Si el termómetro es utilizado accidentalmente sin un
protector higiénico acoplado, limpie la punta de la
sonda del siguiente modo:
Limpie la superficie con suavidad utilizando un hisopo
de algodón o un paño suave humedecido con alcohol.
Después de que el alcohol se ha secado perfecta-
mente, se puede colocar un protector higiénico nuevo
y limpio y tomar de nuevo la temperatura. Si la punta
de la sonda está dañada, póngase en contacto con el
Centro de Servicio Braun más cercano.
Use un paño suave y seco para limpiar la pantalla y
el exterior del termómetro. No utilice limpiadores

Coloque pilas nuevas cuando el símbolo aparezca en la pantalla.
Abra el compartimento de las pilas. Retire las pilas agotadas y
reemplácelas con pilas nuevas, asegurándose de que los polos están
en la posición correcta. Deslice la tapa del compartimento de las pilas
hasta que encaje en su sitio.

No tire las baterías agotadas a la basura. Desposítelas en los
contenedores especiales destinados a tal efecto.
Calibración
El termómetro ha sido calibrado inicialmente en el momento de su
fabricación. Si este termómetro es utilizado siguiendo las instruc-
ciones de uso, no require ningún tipo de recalibración periódica.
Si en cualquier momento dudase de la exactitud de sus mediciones,
póngase en contacto con el Centro de Servicio Braun más cercano.
Para conocer la fecha de fabricación del termómetro, tome nota del
número de Lote del aparato LOT que se encuentra dentro del com-
partimento de las pilas. El primer dígito se refiere al último dígito del
año de fabricación. Los tres dígitos siguientes se refieren al día del año
de fabricación.
Por ejemplo: LOT 0116 xx xx – Este termómetro fue fabricado el
día 116 del año 2000.

How to use Braun ThermoScan

To help to ensure accurate measurements, make
sure the probe tip and lens are clean and a new,
clean lens filter is in place before each measure-
ment.
2.
IRT 4020: Push the Start button.
IRT 4520: Push the «I/O» button.
Then wait for the ready signal beep and the ready
symbol in the display.

Fit the probe snuggly into the ear canal, then push
and release the Start button.

If the probe has been positioned securely into
the ear canal during the complete measuring
process, a long beep will signal the end of the
measuring process. The thermometer detects
that an accurate temperature measurement has
been taken. The result is shown on the display.
If you take the temperature of another person, the
«ExacTemp» light can be of help. It flashes during
the measuring process as long as the probe is
securely positioned, and lights up continuously
when the thermometer detects that an accurate
measurement has been taken.

Utilisation du thermomètre

Pour aider à assurer des mesures précises,
veiller, avant chaque prise de température, à la
propreté de l’extrémité de la sonde et de la
lentille, et s’assurer qu’un nouveau filtre de lentille
propre est en place.

IRT 4020 : Appuyer sur le bouton de mise en
marche.
IRT 4520 : Appuyer sur le bouton « I/O ».
Attendre ensuite le signal sonore d’état prêt et
l’apparition du symbole d’état prêt sur l’afficheur.

Bien introduire la sonde dans le conduit auditif,
appuyer sur le bouton de mise en marche, puis le
relâcher.

Si la sonde a été bien introduite dans le conduit
auditif tout au long du processus de prise de
température, un long signal sonore indiquera la
fin du processus de mesure. Le thermomètre
détecte qu’une prise de température adéquate a
été effectuée. Le résultat apparaît sur l’afficheur.
Le voyant « ExacTemp » peut être utile lorsqu’il
s’agit de prendre la température d’une autre
personne. Ce voyant clignote au cours du
processus de mesure à condition que la sonde
soit bien positionnée, et s’allume continuellement
lorsque le thermomètre détecte qu’une prise de
température précise a été effectuée.

Cómo utilizar el termómetro

Para asegurar una medición precisa, coloque
siempre un protector higiénico nuevo y limpio
antes de la medición.

IRT 4020: Presione el botón de inicio «start».

Espere a que suene la señal y aparezca el

Ajuste la sonda con cuidado en el canal
auditivo, después presione y libere el botón
de inicio «start».

Si la sonda fue insertada correctamente en el
canal auditivo durante el proceso completo de
medición, un sonido indicará que ha finalizado
la medición. El termómetro detecta que una
medición exacta de la temperatura ha sido
tomada. El resultado aparece en la pantalla.
Si toma la temperatura de otra persona, podrá
observar la iluminación en la pantalla:
«ExacTemp» – Temperatura Exacta. Esta luz
parpadea durante el proceso de medición,
cuando la sonda está colocada de manera
segura, y se ilumina completamente cuando el
termómetro detecta que una medición exacta ha
sido realizada.
