Final Check
Before you start using the fridge/
freezer check that:
1. The feet have been adjusted for
perfect levelling.
8. “Do not load the appliance

with an accurate thermometer (see;
Temperature Control and Adjustment)”
3. Clean the interior as recommended
under “MAINTENANCE & CARE.”
9.When the freezer reaches the
desired temperature the freezer fan will
stop. When the freezer fan is on, the
noise will be louder when the freezer
door is opened.
4. Insert the plug into the wall socket
and switch on the electricity supply.
• When the door is open the fridge
interior light will come on.
5. You will hear a noise as the
compressor starts up. The liquid and
gases sealed within the refrigeration
system may also give rise to noise,
whether the compressor is running or
not which is quite normal.
10. Control system determines
operation of the fridge fan in
accordance with the cooling
requirements. Fridge fan is designed to
ensure homogenous distribution and
circulation of the cold air inside your

opened, fridge fan stops.
“Due to operation of fans inside
the fridge and the frost free freezer
compartments, overall noise level
is slightly higher in comparison to
non-frost free appliances. This is
quite normal and is not a fault.”
11. Avoid spillage of food particularly
small items like rice, peas, beans
through the fan guard as they may
cause the cooling system to block and
therefore operate less efficiently.

5 Using your refrigerator
Temperature Control And
Adjustment
We recommend that you check
the temperature with an accurate
thermometer to ensure that the
storage compartments are kept to the
desired temperature.
Remember you must take your
reading very quickly since the
thermometer temperature will rise very
rapidly after you remove it from the
freezer.
Operating temperatures are
controlled by the thermostat (see
diagram) located on the ceiling of
fridge compartment. Settings may be
made from min to max, max being the
coldest position.
Please remember each time the door
is opened cold air escapes and the
internal temperature rises. Therefore
never leave the door open and ensure
it is closed immediately after food is
put in or removed.
Recommended temperature setting
knob position is 4. Please make sure
that it is set to 4 for ideal storage
conditions.
In case of a temporary ice build up
in the fridge compartment, reduce the
thermostat setting to min, monitoring
at the same time that the fridge
temperature is maximum +5 degrees
C [41 degrees F]. Once the ice build
up disappears and the appliance
starts auto defrosting again as normal,
then you may increase the thermostat
setting, if required.
When the appliance is switched
on for the first time, the thermostat
should be adjusted so that after 24
hours, the average fridge temperature
is no higher than +5°C (+41°F). We
recommend you set the thermostat
half way between the min and max
setting and monitor to obtain the
desired temperature i. e. towards
max you will obtain a colder fridge
temperature and vice versa. Some
sections of the fridge may be cooler or
warmer ( such as the salad crisper and
the top part of the cabinet ) which is
quite normal.
Total Fridge Freezer Guard
Your BEKO fridge freezer
incorporates the latest technological
advances in Home Appliances.
Beko Total Fridge Freezer Guard
automatically protects your food in
the fridge and in the freezer in cold
ambient temperatures down to -15
degrees C. So don’t worry if the
ambient temperature drops, your food
in the Beko fridge freezer will be safely
stored.
The normal storage temperature of
the freezer should be -18°C (0°F).
Lower temperatures may be obtained
by adjusting thermostat knob towards
max position.

4. Fresh wrapped produce can be
placed on the shelf. Fresh fruit and
vegetables should be cleaned and
stored in the crisper bins.
5. Bottles can be placed in the door
section.
Arrangement Examples (See diagram)
1. Baked, chilled cooked food, dairy
products, cans.
2. Bottle storage
3. Meat, sausages, cold cuts.
4. Fruit, vegetables, salads.
5. Making, storing ice cubes.
6. Frozen food.
7. Frozen food and freezing of fresh
food.
6. To store raw meat, wrap in
polythene bags and place on the
lowest shelf. Do not allow to come
into contact with cooked food to avoid
contamination. For safety, only store
raw meat for two to three days.
7. Keep the food packed wrapped
or covered. Allow hot food and
beverages to cool before placing them
in the fridge. Do not store explosive
substances. High proof alcohol must be
stored upright in sealed containers. Left
over canned food should not be stored
in the can.
8. Butter, cheese.

food should be checked and either
eaten immediately or cooked and then
re-frozen.
10. Place chilled cooked food and similar
food near the rear of the fridge inner liner
where the cold wall is located.
Freezing Fresh Food
11. Shelves, racks, crisper bins,
drawers, flaps, bottle grippers are all
removable.
Please observe the following
instructions to obtain the best results.
Do not freeze too large a quantity at
any one time. The quality of the food
is best preserved when it is frozen
right through to the core as quickly as
possible.
12. Do not leave frozen food at room
temperature to thaw; the best way to
defrost food is to put it in the fridge
to thaw slowly. Make sure you avoid
defrosting food or food juices drip onto
other food.
Placing warm food into the freezer
compartment causes the refrigeration
compressor to operate continuously
until the food is frozen solid. This can
temporarily lead to excessive cooling
of the refrigeration compartment.
13. For hygiene reasons, always wrap
food using a suitable packaging material
before storing in your appliance to avoid
contact with the appliance surface.
A WARNING
When freezing fresh food turn the
setting towards Max. Small quantities
of food up to 1/2 kg. (1 lb) can be
frozen without having to rotate the
temperature control.
Frozen bottles, containers containing
drinks, cans etc. will expand, breaks or
deform when frozen.
Storing Frozen Food
You may place fresh food to be
frozen in any part of the freezer.
Prepacked commercially frozen food
should be stored in accordance with the
frozen food manufacturers instructions
Take special care not to mix already
frozen food and fresh food.
for a
frozen food storage
compartment.
Making Ice Cubes
To ensure that the high quality achieved
by the frozen food manufacturer and the
food retailer is maintained, the following
should be remembered:
Fill the ice - cube tray 3/4 full with
water and place it in the Ice Bank.
Loosen frozen trays with the handle
of a spoon, never use sharp edged
objects such as knives, forks. Store
ice-cubes in the Ice Bank.
1. Put packets in the freezer as quickly
as possible after purchase.
2. Ensure that contents are labelled and
dated.
3. Do not exceed “Use By”, “Best
Before” dates on the packaging.

B) Freezer Compartment
The freezer compartment is
frost free, defrost is performed
automatically.
Do not place any foodstuff in front
of freezer fan and avoid obstructing
air flow by any means. Please leave
sufficient space (min. 1 cm) in front of
fan grill to let sufficient air circulation
within cabinet.
C) Superfresh zone(Chill
Compartment)
Superfresh zone is designed to serve
as chill compartment zone - even
without drawers if not provided. This
compartment/zone is specifically
designed to keep meet, fish,
Note: If freshly made ice cubes are
not consumed for several weeks
and stored in Ice Bank, they will
slowly reduce in size and eventually
disappear completely.
Defrosting
poultry and solid dairy products (i.e.
cheese, butter, etc.) at ideal storage
temperature. Average temperature
of chill compartment/zone fluctuates
between -2 °C and +3 °C. It is not
recommended to store vegetables and
fruits in this zone.
A) Fridge Compartment
The fridge compartment defrosts
automatically.
The defrosting water runs to the
drain tube via a collection container
at the back of the appliance (1).(see
diagram) During defrosting water
droplets may form at the back of the
fridge compartment where concealed
evaporator is located.Some droplets
may remain on the liner and refreeze
when defrosting is completed.
Fridge Fan
Air circulation fan will come on
and go off from time to time while
the fridge door is shut after use
to circulate air in the fridge. This
forced air circulation will improve the
temperature maintenance in the fridge
compartment. Do not block, obstruct
or tamper with the fan or fan guard.
Keep the fan guard free from food
items and other objects.
Do not use pointed or sharp edged
objects such as knives, forks to
remove the droplets which have
frozen.
If at any time the defrost water does
not drain from the collection channel,
check to ensure that no food particles
have blocked the drain tube.
The drain tube can be cleared by
pushing the special plastic plunger
provided down the drain tube (2). If the
frost layer reaches about 1/4”(7 mm),
reduce the setting (i.e. from 4 to 1) to
restart automatic defrosting.

Water Dispenser
*optional
Water dispenser is a very useful
feature based on reaching cold water
without opening the door of your
refrigerator. As you will not have to
open your refrigerator door frequently,
you will have saved energy.
As the level of the water in your
glass/container rises, slightly lessen
the pressure on the arm to prevent the
overspill. If you slightly press the arm,
the water will drip; this is quite normal
and not a failure.
Filling the water dispenser's tank
Open the cover of the water tank as
shown in the figure. Fill in the pure and
clean drinking water. Close the cover.
.
To avoid flowing of water by mistake,
we recommend you to lock the water
dispenser.
Warning!
• Do not fill the water tank with any
other liquid except for water such as
fruit juices, carbonated beverages
or alcoholic drinks which are not
suitable to use in the water dispenser.
Water dispenser will be irreparably
damaged if these kinds of liquids are
used. Warranty does not cover such
usages. Some chemical substances
and additives contained in these
kinds of drinks/liquids may damage
the water tank.
Using the water dispenser
Push the arm of the water dispenser
with your glass. The dispenser will
cease operating once you release the
arm.
When operating the water dispenser,
maximum flow can be obtained
by pressing the arm fully. Please
remember that the amount of flow
from the dispenser is subject to the
degree you press the arm.
• Use clean and pure drinking water only.
• Capacity of the water tank is 2.2 liters
(3.8 pints); do not overfill.
22 EN
Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.
• Push the arm of the water dispenser
with a rigid glass. If you are using
disposable plastic glasses, push the
arm with your fingers from behind the
glass.

Cleaning the water tank
Release the tank cover from the
water tank by opening latches at both
sides. Remove the water tank and
clean with warm and clean water.
Place the water tank to its seating,
install the tank cover and close the
latches.
Make sure that the parts removed
(if any) during cleaning are properly
attached to their original places.
Otherwise, water leakage may occur.
Important:
Components of the water tank and
water dispenser should not be washed
in dishwasher.
3
Water tray
Water that drips while using the water
dispenser accumulates in the spillage
tray. Take out the spillage tray by
pulling it towards yourself and empty it
regularly.
Take out the plastic strainer by
pressing it on sides.
Take the water valve out of the water
tank. When replacing it, make sure
that the seal is in place.

6 Maintenance & Care
Protection of plastic
surfaces
ANever use gasoline, benzene or
similar substances for cleaning
purposes.
C Do not put the liquid oils or oil-cooked
meals in your refrigerator in unsealed
containers as they damage the
plastic surfaces of your refrigerator. In
case of spilling or smearing oil on the
plastic surfaces, clean and rinse the
relevant part of the surface at once
with warm water.
BWe recommend that you unplug the
appliance before cleaning.
BNever use any sharp abrasive
instrument, soap, household
cleaner, detergent and wax polish for
cleaning.
C Use lukewarm water to clean the
cabinet of your refrigerator and wipe it
dry.
C Use a damp cloth wrung out in
a solution of one teaspoon of
bicarbonate of soda to one pint of
water to clean the interior and wipe it
dry.
BMake sure that no water enters the
lamp housing and other electrical
items.
BIf your refrigerator is not going to be
used for a long period of time, unplug
the power cable, remove all food,
clean it and leave the door ajar.
C Check door seals regularly to ensure
they are clean and free from food
particles.
ATo remove door racks, remove all the
contents and then simply push the
door rack upwards from the base.
AAny dust that gathers on the
condenser, which is located at the
back of the appliance, should be
removed once a year with a vacuum
cleaner.

socket, plug in another appliance)
• The fuse has blown/circuit breaker
has tripped/main distribution switch
has been turned off.
• The temperature control has been
set correctly.
• New plug is wired correctly if you
have changed the fitted moulded plug.
Don’t- Close the freezer door before
closing the drawers.
If the appliance is still not operating
after the above checks, please refer
to the section on “How To Obtain
Service”.
