APPLICATION
The Patriot Multi-Purpose System (MPS) is designed to be the ultimate Night Vision Device.
This versatile unit can be used in night vision time situations as a compact hand spotting
scope, a hands free goggle system, a weapon sight, and applicable for video or photography.
If versatility is what you are looking for in night vision device then the Patrior MPS is the system
for you. The Patriot system allows you to custom design your own personalized unit. By order-
ing different packages you can build a system that fits your specific night vision needs.
To build the perfect system you must start with the perfect base unit to build upon. By utilizing
a high resolution 2nd or 3d generation US intensifier tube the Patriot has one of the brightest
and sharpest images available. A built-in illuminator allows you to see clearly even in total
darkness. Combine this with all glass optics specially coated to absorb light and the Patriot is
an exellent compact pocket scope.

OPERATION
• Take the monocular out of the case.
• Install the batteries into the housing with the polarity order as shown on the scope. Battery
Type: 3 Volt Lithium, #CR123A
• Press Button marked –/O to turn unit on with the protective lens cover still attached to the
lens. Do not turn unit on in the daytime without the protective lens cap on. You should
see a green glow in the eyepiece
• Observe the scene, and adjust the diopter for optimal image clarity.
• You may now enter a dark environment, or simply shut the lights off in order to darken the
room.
• Next, remove the lens cap/daylight filter. Adjust front lens for distance focus. You should not
have to readjust diopter.
• You will need to focus the objective lens for different distances.
LONG-RANGE INFRA-RED ILLUMINATOR
The long range IR works on a separate battery from the main unit. To install the battery
unscrew cap and insert battery in the same direction as depicted by the diagram on the IR. To
install the long range IR to the main body of the Patriot screw the thumb screw on the IR into
the thread on the body of the Patriot.
You may notice that IR might not shine directly in the middle of your viewing image. This can be
adjusted by unscrewing the lock ring, then adjusting the main body of IR. Once you have the IR
aimed in the correct direction re-tighten locking ring. You may desire a different field of coverage
from the IR illuminator. If so the beam is focusable. By turning the lens of the IR you will change
the beam width slightly.

CHANGING FRONT LENS/DOUBLER
Increasing and decreasing magnification.
The Patriot can have several different magnifications. This is achieved by using different combi-
nations of lenses and eyepieces. The table below shows what magnifications can be achieved.
To change eyepiece unscrew connector ring and remove eyepiece, screw new eyepiece on.
To remove the front lens unscrew the lens by turning the base of the front lens, screw new
front lens on.
To add doubler insert Doubler between front lens and body of the Patriot.

FOCUSING
To focus the Patriot first you will need to adjust the diopter. Simply turn the diopter clockwise
until it stops. Then, while looking through the diopter at a sub-
ject, slowly turn the diopter back counter clockwise until the
grain in the image is sharp.
NOTE: We suggest that you focus the diopter during daylight
with the filter on.
Next. When you are in low-light conditions and the daylight filter
is off, you may focus the front lens to receive a sharp image, the
diopter should not be adjusted.
NOTE: The front lens should be readjusted as you view objects at different distances.
INFRA-RED ILLUMINATOR
Infra-red illuminators, or IR illuminators, are common to night vision.
The IR light greatly enhances the performance of the Patriot while
remaining almost totally invisible to the naked eye. The IR illuminator
on the Patriot is located on the side of the unit.
To turn the IR on, push the IR button and you will see an orange indica-
tor light come on. It is important to remember that the IR illuminator is
simply an infra red light source, and like any light source, it may loose
its effectiveness over a great distance. This IR should illuminate out to
approximately 30 yards. For a longer IR distance add the long range
IR.
NOTE: The IR will automatically turn off when the unit’s main power is
turned off.
GOGGLE SYSTEM
To turn the Patriot into a goggle system you need to attach the transfer piece to the main body
of the Patriot. Screw the thumb screw on the transfer piece into the thread on the body of the
Patriot.
Then, to put the Patriot onto the Headset, insert the piece of the transfer piece into the Head-
set. To disassemble, push down the lever.

USING THE CAMERA ADAPTER (OPTIONAL)
To use your Patriot with a 35mm camera or camcorder you will need the following:
1) If you plan to use a camcorder then your camcorder must have a MACRO feature. Most
modern camcorders today have a MACRO feature builtin.
2) If you plan to use a 35mm camera, you will need a MACRO lens. If you don’t have one, we
advise that you contact your local camera store.
3) You may or may not need a STEP-UP or STEP-DOWN ring in order to adapt the camera
adapter to your lens. NOTE: The camera adapter comes with 37mm and 52mm threads. If
you need other sizes your local camera store should be able to help.
• Remove the rubber eyecup from the Patriot
• Screw the camera adapter onto the front of the lens on your Video camera’s lens or your
35mm camera’s lens.
• Loosen the three set screws on the camera adapter.
• Place the camera adapter over the Patriot’s eyepiece.
• Tighten the three set screws to fit snugly to the Patriot’s eyepiece
• You may need to focus the 35mm camera or video camera in combi-
nation with the Patriot in order to get the sharpest possible image.
• We suggest that you find an open space to work in. Focus the Patriot
so that the scene is at its sharpest. For best results you should dis-
able the auto focus (if any) on either the 35mm camera or the video
camera and manually focus the 35mm camera or the video camera.
Once the image is sharp, then simply adjust the Patriot’s front lens to
change focus.

*An important part to remember is that you are not taking a picture of an
object that is far away from you, but you are actually taking a picture of a
phosphorous screen of the Patriot that is only 2-3 inches away.
WEAPON KIT
First remove eyepiece. Add Red on Green Reticle eyepiece to main body of the Patriot.
Remove the 30mm front lens and add the 90mm lens. Put the large mounting ring around the
front lens. Mount the scope to the standard weaver rail.
To insert the battery, 3V, Lithium (CR2032), into Red on Green Reticle remove the cap. Bright-
ness of the reticle can be adjusted by turning the numbered dial on the reticle. To adjust wind-
age and elevation remove the dust caps off of the knobs. Each click equals 1/8 inch at 100
yards.

STORAGE AND CARE
If the device is not to be used for extended period of time (more than 10 days) remove the bat-
tery.
Avoid touching lenses. If fingerprints or traces of dirt or dust appear, clean surface with a
Photographic lens cleaning tissue.
Keep lens cap/daylight filter on when not in use.
The Patriot is not harmful to the user or the environment.
Do not disassemble except for cleaning the front lens, eyepiece, install the doubler or any
other “C” mount lens: it will void your warranty.
Evaluate the scope’s function by looking through it in a lit environment with the daylight filter
lens cap on. Never use in daylight without the daylight filter lens cap on.
Never point the PATRIOT at a bright light source.
Adverse atmospheric conditions, such as fog, smog, or haze, and a lack of ambient light
(moon or starlight) may diminish the effective viewing distance.
