BEFORE CALLING SERVICE
Below is a list of frequently occurred symptoms. Before you call for service, make these simple
checks. Some of these symptoms can easily be rectified if you know what to do.

compartment.
Ensure the (+) and (–) ends of the batteries are
placed in the right position.
Reattach the battery compartment lid.

period.This can help prevent damage to handset from possible battery leakage.

Check line 10 of the menu to see if theTV is in the Commercial or Consumer
mode.
If theTV is in the Commercial mode, then proceed to Part B to activate theTV
Setup menu. Otherwise, go to Part C to change theTV mode to Commercial.
Part B: To activateTV Setup menu.
Press the RECALL key to clear the menu.
Press the M key to activate theTV Setup menu.
Part C: To select Commercial mode, if theTV is in Consumer mode (or to select
Consumer mode, if theTV is in Commercial mode).
Press the RECALL key to clear the menu.
Press 0 2 4 9 9 5.
Press M key and theTV Mode menu appears.

This menu item selects the input source to be assigned per channel. The selectable sources are
FRONTEND, AV1, AV2, AV3, CVI, AV2YCor AV3YC(dependent on model). To select

Selects the colour and sound system of transmission.
AUTO STORE
When this is activated, theTV will start at the lowest valid frequency to search for a signal.

is displayed indicating that the process is in progress. When a valid station is found, the next
available channel number is assigned to it. The word will disappear once the process is
completed.
MANUAL SEARCH

brightness, colour, contrast, sharpness or tint (applicable for NTSC signal only) of the picture.

Adjust the tilt effect of the picture on screen.

ScanVelocity Modulation feature produces sharper and crispier picture. However, this feature

YESto activate the feature or NOto deactivate the feature is provided.
HS/VSH/VA OFFSET
HS (Horizontal Shift),VSH (Vertical Shift) andVA (Vertical Amplitude) Offset items are for the
purpose of display orientation adjustment that may be needed for video signals generated by
smart cards. However, depending on the specific smart card design for RGB insertion, the
adjustment range for some parameters may be limited or in some cases, some parameters may
have no effect at all. Press the

POWER ON
Select STANDARD, STANDBYor FORCEDmode.The different modes are as explained below:
STANDARD:TV will be automatically switched to the last status (STANBYor ON)
whenever the mains power is turned ONor resumed after a power interruption.
STANDBY:TV will be automatically switched to STANBY(even if the last status was ON)
whenever the mains power is turned ONor resumed after a power interruption.
FORCED:TV will be automatically switched to ONwhenever the mains power is turned ON
or resumed after a power interruption. Note that the remote control STANDBYkey will no
longer function whenTV is set to this mode.
LNA (LOW NOISE AMPLIFIER)
Select OFF, ONor AUTO. If ONis selected, the LNA feature in theTV set will always be
applied to incoming signals. If set to AUTO, theTV set will first analyze incoming signals and
apply the LNA feature if necessary. By default, the LNA setting is OFF.
STEP TUNING
For calling up or changing channels. When this feature is switched YES, theTV will respond
immediately to the change of channel upon keying in the first digit. If this feature is switched
NO, one has to either wait for a few seconds after keying in the first digit or complete keying in
2 digits beforeTV changes channel.
Note:When an external set-top box is connected to the RJ12 port for IR link, choose either
YES/NOfor optimum channel switching performance.
DIGIT TIMEOUT
Selects the digit entry timeout period via digit key entry from 1.0 SEC to 9.9 SEC. This allows
the response time between the 1st digit entry and the 2nd digit entry to be adjusted when
2-digit entry is needed.
BLANKING TIME
Sets the blanking interval between the switching of channels. The recommended default setting
is 900 to 960ms.
CHANNEL DISPLAY
Selects the ways of displaying the information for a channel. The options are: ALL(display the
number and label of a channel), NONE(do not display any information), NUMBER(display
only the number of a channel) and LABEL(display only the label of a channel).
KEYBOARD LOCK
To lockTV control keys, select YES. To unlock, select NO.
FREE PROTECTED
Remove PROTECTIONfeatures for all channels set under TV SETUPmenu. All channels
are not protected when select YES.
ESP (ENERGY SAVING PROGRAMMABLE)
This feature selects a time when theTV will automatically turn off. TheTV must remain on
continuously during the period of time you select. If the power is switched off, the ESP timer will
be re-initialised. Highlight ESP, then key in the required time with the digit keys. Select 0 if you do
not wish to use this feature. If sleeptimer is selected, it would have priority over ESP time.

INTERFACE
Enables the communication of theTV with the DCM when YESis selected. This is specifically
applicable to the Interactive SystemTV, providing the interactivity feature between a DCM card
of the Service Provider and the dedicated SystemTV.
AUDIO/VIDEO MUTE
To blank the screen when no signal is received. Select OFF(no blanking), BLACK(blank the
screen black) or BLUE(blank the screen blue).
AUDIO/VIDEO OUT MUTE
Disables all output from theTV to the external Audio andVideo output connectors if YESis
selected.The default setting is NO.
MONITOR OUT RF
Select YESto switch all output from theTV to the external Audio/Video output connectors
to the same as the input RFsignal. Select NOto switch all output from theTV to the external
Audio/Video output connectors to the same source as what is displayed on theTV. The default
setting is NO.
WELCOME MESSAGE
This item is used to create, edit or delete a welcoming message. You can input up to 2 lines,
with a maximum of 20 characters (inclusive of space) per line. Highlight WELCOME
MESSAGEin the TV SETUPmenu and enter its sub menu by pressing

The Alarm feature will require the time to be set correctly according to the CLOCK SETUP
procedure in page 12.
To set the alarm, press the
key to enter the ALARMmenu as shown below. If the time has
not been previously set, the “NOT AVAILABLE” message will appear on theTV screen.

Use the remote control numeric keys to enter the desired ALARM TIME. Once the time has
been entered,the ALARM STATUSwill change to ON. Any key on the remote control can be
used to cut off the alarm buzzer.
To deactivate the alarm, press the
