					HANDSET RANGE   1. Getting started   WARNING   Do not place your phone in the bathroom or other humid   areas.   Optimal range is reached when there are no other electrical   appliances working within the range area. Any obstruction   between the base and handset will also reduce the range   significantly.   SIGNAL STRENGTH   Location   When out of range of the base, the screen shows   SEARCHING.... If you are on a call, the line will disconnect.   Move back within in range of the base. The handset will   automatically re-connect to the base.   When choosing a location for your new phone, here are   some important guidelines you should consider:   • • Avoid sources of noise and heat, such as motors,   fluorescent lighting, microwave ovens, heating   appliances, and direct sunlight.   Avoid areas of excessive dust, moisture, and low   temperature.   Setting up   IMPORTANT   The base must be plugged into an electrical outlet at all   times. Do not connect the telephone line cord into the   telephone wall jack until the handset is fully charged. Only   use the adapter and telephone line cord supplied with the   product.   • • • Avoid other cordless telephones or personal computers.   Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.   Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the   jack is specifically designed for wet locations.   Never touch non-insulated telephone wires or terminals   unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the   network interface.   • WHICH POWER ADAPTER   The power adapter with the red crystal is for the base unit   and the power adapter with the larger pin is for the charger   unit (only for multi-handset packs).   • Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.   6 Getting started   
			
			
				
					1.1   Connecting the base   1.2   Installing and charging the wireless   headset   1. Attach the ear hook to the headset body as indicated.   The ear hook can be attached according to your   preference to wear the headset on the left or right ear.   2. Put the installed wireless headset on the base cradle all the   way to the end for ensuring effective charging before using.   When the wireless headset is fully charged, the LED on   headset will light on blue steadily.   Left ear:   Right ear:   1. Plug the power adapter with the red crystal plug and the   telephone line cord into the base. The power adapter   with the round pin is for the charger (only in multi-   handset packs).   2. 					3. Put the handset on the base to charge for at least 24   hours. Once charged, the (battery icon) will indicate   that the handset is fully charged.   1.3   Installing and charging the handset   battery pack   IMPORTANT   Use only the rechargeable battery pack provided with the   product.   1.4   Setting the display language   1. 					3 VOLUME DOWN   a) During a call: Press to decrease the earpiece volume.   Continuously flashing: The wireless headset is ringing and   can be heard through the earpiece.   b) During ringing: Press to decrease the ringer volume.   Red:   Steadily on: When the wireless headset is charging on the   base.   NOTE   If the wireless headset is not registered, press and hold VOL+/   FLASH together with VOL- to initiate the registration mode.   Long flashing: Indicates that the battery is low, the unit is   not on the base, and the headset will emit short double   beeps.   Double flashing: Indicates that the battery is low while the   headset is in use and short double beeps will be emitted.   Triple flashing: Indicates powering on/off the headset and   three short beeps will be emitted through the earpiece.   Red/Blue:   Wireless Headset LED Indicators   Purple:   Steadily on: The wireless headset is unregistered.   Flashing: The wireless headset is registered but the base is   not available (searching or out of range).   Blue:   Steadily on: When the headset is seated in the base and   fully charged. Once the headset is successfully registered,   the blue light will flash on then off, for about three seconds at   a time, and emit a long beep.   Toggling display: The wireless headset is in registration   mode. When the headset is registered successfully, the   headset will beep for around 2 seconds.   Long flashing: The wireless headset is in idle mode and off   the base.   Double flashing: The wireless headset is on, and if the   signal becomes weak, three short beeps will be heard.   14   Getting to know your phone
