HD Decoder Card Installation Guide
Chapter 1: Introduction
The MediaSonic MS9100 and MS9200 HD Decoder cards are PCI devices that when installed in a standard
desktop Personal Computer will allow the user to display single channel analog (MS9100) or digital (MS9200)
High Definition encoded program material.
The cards decode MPEG MP@HL transport streams and output either SMPTE 296 or SMPTE 274 formats as
defined by the ATSC (Advanced Television Standards Committee).
A video preview display is provided, allowing the operator to view a copy of the Analog video output within the
graphical user interface.
Note: Video preview function is only available on a graphics card that utilizes a VIP 2.0 connector.
Digital video ensures that image quality is maintained irrespective of the number of times a file is displayed or
copied. Using the computer/network topology, video files may be transferred and displayed on remote Players.
