Connecting Your Monitor
NOTE: USB uplink cable needs to be connected for touch function.
To connect your monitor to the computer:
1. Turn off your computer and disconnect the power cable.
2. Connect the HDMI cable, white (digital DVI-D), or blue (analog VGA) display connector cable to the corresponding video port on the back of your
computer. Do not use all the cables on the same computer. Use all of the cables only when they are connected to different computers with appropriate
video systems.

Troubleshooting
Dell™ ST2220T monitor
Self-Test
Your monitor provides a self-test feature that allows you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. If your monitor and computer are properly
connected but the monitor screen remains dark, run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:
1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer or monitor. To ensure proper self-test operation, remove the HDMI, Digital (white connector), and
the Analog (blue connector) cables from the back of the computer or monitor.
3. Turn on the monitor.
The floating dialog box should appear on the screen (against a black background) if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly.
While in self-test mode, the power LED remains white. Also, depending upon the selected input, one of the dialogs shown below will continuously
scroll through the screen.
or
or
4. This box also appears during normal system operation, if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged.
5. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on both your computer and the monitor.
If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer, because your monitor is functioning
properly.
Built-in Diagnostics
Your monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps you determine if the screen abnormality you are experiencing is an inherent problem with your monitor, or
with your computer system and graphic card.
NOTE: You can run the built-in diagnostics only when the video cable is unplugged and the monitor is in self-test mode.
To run the built-in diagnostics:
1. Ensure that the screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
2. Unplug the video cable(s) from the back of the computer or monitor. The monitor then goes into the self-test mode.
3. On the front panel, press and hold the shortcut key 1 and shortcut key 4 keys on the front panel, simultaneously for 2 seconds. A gray screen
appears.
4. Ensure that the screen is looking normal.
5. Press the shortcut key 4 key on the front panel again. The color of the screen changes to red.
6. Repeat steps 5 to inspect the display in green, blue, black, and white colored screens.
The test is complete when the white screen appears. To exit, press the shortcut key 4 key again.
If you do not detect any screen abnormalities upon using the built-in diagnostic tool, the monitor is functioning properly. Check the video card and computer.

Calibrating the Touch Screen
ST2220T uses standard Windows7 calibration:
1. Run Windows Control Panel -> Hardware & Sound -> Tablet PC -> Calibrate.
2. Touch your finger (or stylus) on the screen at that center of black cross until the cross moves.
3. The pointer moves to fifteen further positions in sequence for the first calibration and three further positions in sequence if previous calibration data is
stored.
4. Store the calibrated data to complete the touch screen calibration procedure.
This completes the touch screen calibration procedure.
NOTE: When removing your finger, lift it straight off the screen, making sure you don’t drag it across the screen. Dell ST2220T monitor.
NOTE: Test the calibration by moving the mouse pointer around the screen checking that it closely follows your finger.
NOTE: If the calibration is not satisfactory, you can re-calibrate.
NOTE: Make sure your finger is placed accurately at each calibration point.
NOTE: If your finger pointed with poor accuracy, press & hold the point to go back to the previous state.
