INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the DVI to Mini DP Converter. Your
complete satisfaction is very important to us.
Gefen
Gefen delivers innovative, progressive computer and electronics add-on
solutions that harness integration, extension, distribution and conversion
technologies. Gefen’s reliable, plug-and-play products supplement cross-
platform computer systems, professional audio/video environments and HDTV
systems of all sizes with hard-working solutions that are easy to implement
and simple to operate.
The Gefen DVI to Mini DP Converter
The DVI to Mini DisplayPort Converter enables computers with single-link
DVI to output on monitors or displays using the Mini Displayport interface.
DisplayPort displays can easily be connected using a Mini Displayport to
DisplayPort adapter.
DisplayPort is a standard that handles today’s higher video resolutions and
AV bandwidths while making connections simpler than in the past. Mini
DisplayPort is a variation of DisplayPort.
Unlike the video signal relationship between DVI and HDMI, which is
interchangeable, DisplayPort cannot natively support the transmission of
these signal types without active electronics to modify the signal. Gefen’s
DVI to Mini DisplayPort ensures compatibility with all current and legacy DVI
devices.
How It Works
Connect a DVI-D cable into your computer source’s DVI-D connector.
Connect the other side of the DVI-D cable to the DVI input on the DVI to Mini
DisplayPort Converter. Connect the Display device at its Mini DisplayPort
connector. Connect the included power supply to the unit. You will now see a
sharp, clear DVI picture on your DisplayPort-compliant display device.
Note: This device is compatible with digital DVI input signals only. DVI-A or
VGA analog sources, interlaced video formats, and HDCP copy protected
signals are not supported.

CONNECTING THE DVI TO MINI DP CONVERTER
How to Connect the DVI to Mini DP Converter
1. Connect a DVI source device to the DVI input connector on the DVI to
Mini DP Converter using the supplied DVI cable.
2. Connect a Mini DisplayPort display to the Mini DisplayPort output
connector on the DVI to Mini DP Converter using a user/device supplied
Mini DisplayPort cable.

To connect power connector blade to the power supply please follow
these steps:
1. Locate the side of the power supply with the exposed metal
contacts. This is the side that will accept the power connector blade.
2. Each power connector blade has a small notch on one end and an
indent on the opposite side. Insert the notched end of the power
connector blade into the top portion of the opening on the power
supply. The notch on the power connector blade should slide into a
slot inside the opening on the power supply.
3. Apply pressure to the opposite end of the power connector blade,
pressing it into the power supply until it clicks into place. Please
ensure that the attachment is secure and does not come loose when
pulling the power connector blade away from the power supply.
NOTE: To disconnect the power connector blade from the power supply,
