Units that arrive at Clarion without the supplied packaging may be declined update if improper packaging has
been used and the unit has been damaged during transportation.
! PLEASE MAKE A BACK UP COPY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA BEFORE REMOVING UNIT
All personal data may be deleted during the update of your navigation system or in the event of damage during
shipment. Clarion is not responsible or liable for any data stored on the hard drive. For instructions on backing up
your personal data using your Clarion MAX/VRX unit and a USB drive, please review the user manual of the
NAX970HD supplied at the original time of purchase, see an authorized Clarion retailer, or visit www.Clarion.com
and visit the support section for the NAX970HD user manual.
!PRECAUTIONS
Keep the NAX970HD away from strong magnetic fields and objects such as speakers or subwoofers.
Do not allow metal objects to touch the connector terminals of the NAX970HD.
Do not subject the NAX970HD to excessive force or impact.
Do not expose the NAX970HD to moisture or water.
Do not dismantle or attempt to modify the NAX970HD or the software inside.
The price of the MAP update does not cover the labor costs of removal or installation of the unit from your vehicle.
Clarion is neither responsible nor liable for:
• Damage caused by normal wear and tear, abnormal use or conditions, misuse, neglect, improper handling
and storage, modifications, alterations, or improper/unapproved repairs, undue physical or electrical stress,
operator error, damage or loss during shipment, removal or installation of the unit or non-compliance with the
instructions or other acts that are not the fault of Clarion.
• Damage from external causes as floods, storms, fires, sand, dirt, earthquakes, an Act of God, exposure to
sunlight, weather, moisture, water, heat, or corrosive environments, electrical surges, theft, or caused by the
connection to other products except for Clarion navigation system.
• Clarion will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, or damages,
including but not limited to any lost profits, savings, data, or loss of use, any third party claims, and any injury
to property or bodily injury (including death) to any person, arising from or relating to the use of this product.
