The Handset may select one of the
following options:
If a person is on the Handset talking to
an outside caller while a second person
at the Base station would like to join the
conversation in a “3-way conference,”
the person on the Base can press
<Speakerphone> to join the call. A “New
Party Joined” tone is emitted to alert the
other parties that another person has
joined in the call. A “Conference” message
will also be displayed on both screens.
To locate your Handset, press <Intercom>
on the Base which will automatically page
the Handset. You will be able to locate the
Handset by tracking the Page tone that is
emitted (even if the Handset ringer is OFF).
During this process, the “Base paging”
message will be displayed on the Handset:
• Press <OFF> on “Verizon One” to quit
the conference. The Base can continue
the external call alone. Or, similarly,
the Base can disconnect to quit the
conference and leave “Verizon One” to
continue the external call alone.
• Press <OFF> on both “Verizon One”
and the Base to disconnect the
external and intercom calls.
• Press <Hold> on either the Handset or
the Base to put the external call on
Hold and the Base and “Verizon One”
can continue the intercom call internally.
The registered Handset will emit a Paging
tone for 2 minutes and then return to the
Standby screen. To stop the Paging tone
on the Handset, select [Exit] or <OFF> on
the Handset or press the <Intercom> button
on the Base.

20. Home Networking
Types of Home Networks:
20.1 What is Home Networking
20.2 Important Information About Your
Verizon One Home Network
Wired networks: Require Ethernet
cables to transport the data between
the computers and the router. (Technical:
10/100 Base-T Ethernet).
A Home Network connects computers
in a household that share an Internet
connection, printers, files, and other
hardware devices like scanners and
DVD burners. Home networks eliminate
the need to purchase separate Internet
connections and hardware devices for
each computer.
If you are planning to use Verizon
One for Home Networking, we strongly
recommend that you complete your DSL
Installation before setting up your
Wireless Home Network.
Wireless networks: Eliminate the
need for cables because radio frequency
signals are used to transport data
between devices, even if they are in
different rooms. (Technical: IEEE
802.11b/g/g+).
Your Verizon One is equipped with a
Westell VersaLink™ Gateway - a
combination DSL modem and wireless
router which allows you to share a
single DSL connection among multiple
computers, printers, and digital cameras,
etc. within your home. Multiple users
can share the connection using
(Wireless) IEEE 802.11b/g/g+ and
(Wired) 10/100 Base-T Ethernet
connections.
With a Home Network, you can share
documents, digital photos, and other
files between computers (without using
floppy discs or CDs). You can keep a
central schedule that can be accessed
and updated by each member of the
household; play multi-user games; and
use one central computer to store
pictures, videos, and other multimedia
files that can be accessed from any
computer on the network.
