TO FILL THE WATER RESERVOIR
USING THE IRON’S SPECIAL FEATURES
1. Make sure the iron is unplugged.

TURBO STEAM FEATURE
2. Lift the Water Fill Hole Cover.
The Turbo Steam™ feature allows the iron to function as a powerful
garment steamer. It can provide continuous pulsating steam for up to
10 minutes and can be used horizontally or vertically. Turbo Steam is
ideal for steaming wrinkles out of delicate clothing, hanging garments
and draperies.
3. Fill water cup with water. Pour water into iron
water reservoir. Do not fill water reservoir beyond
maximum fill level.
WARNING: To prevent the risk of burns, be careful
when filling a hot iron with water. Hot metal parts, hot
water and steam can cause injuries.
To use Turbo Steam™:
1. Fill the water reservoir to the max fill line.
2. Hold the iron, either horizontally and iron normally or
|vertically, close to but not touching the fabric or garment
to be steamed.
SELECTING FABRIC SETTINGS
To select a fabric setting, press the Fabric Select buttons
(LM) until the desired fabric lights up (Figure A). The
Wait/Ready light will change from red to green when
the iron is ready to use.
3. Using your free hand, keep the fabric pulled tight.
4. Press the Turbo Steam™ button once to turn the Turbo Steam™
feature on. Press the button again to turn it off. Turbo Steam will
not turn on while in SYN or SILK fabric settings.
NOTE: When using the Steam Function, the iron will
automatically adjust the steam to match the fabric selec-
tion.
5. The Turbo Steam™ feature will start once the iron reaches
maximum temperature.
DRY IRONING
IMPORTANT: The Turbo Steam™ pump action may cause the

2. Select Fabric Setting.
3. Press the Steam Off button.
NOTE: While in the Steam Off (Dry) setting, you may
still use the Shot of Steam® feature or Turbo Steam™
feature. Please make sure the water reservoir is at least
full to the Refill line.

SHOT OF STEAM / VERTICAL STEAM FEATURE
The Shot of Steam® / Vertical Steam feature provides an extra
burst of steam for deep penetration of stubborn wrinkles. You can
use this feature while Dry or Steam ironing, but the water reser-
voir must be above the Refill line.
To use the Shot of Steam® / Vertical Steam Feature:
Place the iron on top of the wrinkle and press the Shot of Steam®
button each time you would like an extra burst of steam. The Shot
of Steam® feature may be used continuously with just a
short pause between shots in both the horizontal and
vertical position.
TIP: Refer to the Ironing Guide for the recommended
setting for your fabric.
STEAM IRONING
1. Follow the instructions for “To fill the Water Reservoir”.
WARNING: To prevent the risk of burns, keep your hand away

MOTION SMART AUTO-OFF FEATURE
CARING FOR YOUR IRON AFTER USE
When the iron is plugged in, the Off Indicator will blink,
indicating there is power to the iron.
TURNING OFF YOUR IRON
1. Use Fabric Select buttons (L M) to scroll to Off position and
unplug iron.
If you leave the iron:
• In a horizontal position without moving it, or acciden-
tally tip the iron over, it will automatically stop heating
after 30 seconds. The Off Indicator will blink to let
you know that the iron has stopped heating.
• In a vertical position (on its heel rest) without moving
it, the iron will automatically turn off after 15 minutes.
The Off Indicator will blink to let you know that
the iron has stopped heating.
WARNING: NEVER yank the power cord when unplugging
the iron. This can damage the cord.
Storing Your Iron
1. Allow the iron to cool.
2. If you do not use your iron on a daily basis, empty the water
reservoir after each use for a longer iron life. To do so, unplug
the iron, turn the iron upside down, open the fill hole cover,
and allow water to flow from the fill hole. Shake the iron gen-
tly to remove trapped water drops.
To reset the iron:
• Move the iron back and forth. The Off Light will stop

IMPORTANT: The Off Indicator will continue to blink
for 5 minutes after the auto-off has activated. The iron will
then turn off completely and no lights will be displayed. To
re-activate the iron press the L or M Fabric Select buttons.
IMPORTANT: Wrapping the cord around the iron too tightly
can damage the cord.

MAINTAINING YOUR TURBO STEAM IRON
WARNING: The Motion Smart® Auto-Off is a safety fea-
ture, not a recommended means for turning your iron off.
See “Caring for Your Iron After Use” for information
on turning off your iron and storing it safely between use.
CLEANING THE SOLEPLATE
Clean the soleplate if starch or other residue accumulates.
To clean the Soleplate:
1. Unplug the iron. Allow the iron to cool and then wipe it

with a soft, damp cloth.
The Storage Strip™ indicator is an easy way to see when
the iron is cool enough to store.
WARNING: DO NOT use abrasive cleansers, scouring pads or
vinegar to clean the soleplate. This will damage the finish.
To use the Storage Strip™ Indicator:
2. Run the iron over an all-cotton cloth to remove any residue.
Turn iron on. In approximately 3 minutes, the Storage
Strip™ indicator will turn from black to red, indicating
that the iron is too hot to store. When the iron is turned
off, it will take the iron approximately 55-65 minutes for
the Storage Strip™ indicator to turn from red to black, in-
dicating that the iron is cool enough to store.
USING THE SELF-CLEAN FEATURE
You should use the Self-Clean feature once a month to maintain
the optimal performance of your iron.
To use the Self-Clean feature:
1. Fill the water reservoir with tap water to the MAX line.
CAUTION: The Storage Strip™ indicator should only be
used as a guideline. The iron should always be handled
and stored with care.
2. Plug in the iron and press Fabric Select button to Linen. Allow
the iron to heat until the Wait/Ready Light turns GREEN.
3. Unplug the iron.
CORD LOCK™ FEATURE
4. Hold the iron over a sink in a horizontal position.
WARNING: Be careful not to touch the iron’s hot surfaces.
Cord Lock™ Feature locks in the left of right position to
keep the cord out of your way and off your clothes.
5. Press the Self-Clean button and hold. Water will begin
dripping from the steam vents. Slowly rock the iron side to
side and front to back for 30 seconds. When rocking the
iron, dip the nose of the iron slightly below the rear of the
iron to make certain the water circulates completely.
ANTI-CALCIUM SYSTEM
The Anti-Calcium System is a permanent system located
inside the water reservoir. This system removes calcium
from the water and reduces calcium build-up on the sole-
plate.
6. Turn the iron upside down and allow the remaining water to

flow out of the fill hole.
7. Dry the soleplate with a towel.
Produces steam without any dripping, spitting, or leaking
through the soleplate, even at low temperatures.
8. Plug in the iron and press Fabric Select button to Linen. Let
the iron heat until the button turns GREEN and dry out the
iron completely.
9. Press the Fabric Select button to Off. The light will go out,
indicating that the iron has turned itself off. Unplug the iron
and allow it to cool.
EMPTY WATER MODE
When the water in the reservoir is low, the water-level sen-
sor will emit two short beeps then one longer beep. The
iron will automatically switch to Steam OFF mode, and
the Steam LED light will turn off.
1. To refill and reset the sensor, fill the water reservoir
with water, then press either the Turbo Steam™, Shot
of Steam® or Steam ON button to allow the sensor to
find the new water level and reset. Steam ironing can
then be resumed.
CLEANING THE ANTI-CALCIUM SYSTEM
The Turbo Steam™ iron houses an Anti-Calcium filter in the
reservoir, which eliminates impurities from the water.
To prolong the efficiency of this filter:
1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool.
2. If steam ironing is attempted, but the water reservoir is
NOT refilled, the sensor will detect this and emit two
short beeps followed by one longer beep, and the iron
will switch again to Steam OFF mode until refilled.
2. Locate the water cup that accompanied the iron and fill it
with water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water and fill the
water reservoir with this solution.
3. Leave the solution in the water reservoir for 15 minutes, then empty it.
NOTE: If you do not refill and reset the sensor you may
experience excessive noise and vibration.
4. Fill the water reservoir a second time with the salt water
solution and empty it again after 15 minutes.
5. Fill the tank with fresh water to rinse and empty.
The Anti-Calcium System should be cleaned approximately once
a month.

IRONING TIPS
• Always read garment labels and follow the manufacturer’s ironing instructions.
• Sort the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric.
• You should first iron garments requiring low temperature
(e.g., silks and synthetics) to avoid damaging them with an iron that is too hot.
• If you are unsure of the fabric content of the garment, test a small area,
such as a seam or facing, before ironing a visible area. Start with a low
temperature and gradually increase the heat to find the best setting.
• When changing the temperature from a high setting to a low setting, allow
approximately 5 minutes for the lower temperature to be reached.
• When steam ironing, use long, slow passes over the fabric. This will allow
the steam to penetrate the fabric while allowing the heat of the soleplate
to dry out the moisture.
• To iron linens, turn garment inside out. Be careful not to use an iron
that is too hot because the lining may melt or stick to the soleplate.
• To iron zippers, use an ironing cloth or make sure the zipper is closed
and iron over the flap. Never iron directly over an unprotected zipper.
• Use the Ironing Guide to select the best setting and method for the fabric
you plan to iron.

free from defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will repair or replace this
product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period.
Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product
is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater
value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or
mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase
and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain
warranty performance. JCS dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not
have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the follow-
ing: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to
the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an au-
thorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire,
flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.
What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?
JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any
express, implied or statutory warranty or condition.
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of mer-
chantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the
above warranty.
JCS disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or
otherwise.
JCS shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse
of, or inability to use the product including incidental, special, consequential or similar dam-

DE LA PLANCHA

La función Turbo Steam™ permite que la plancha funcione como
un potente vaporizador para ropa. Puede proporcionar el vapor
pulsante y continuo por hasta 10 minutos y se puede usar en la
posición horizontal o vertical. Turbo Steam es ideal para eliminar
las arrugas de ropa delicada, trajes que estén colgados y de
cortinajes con vapor.
No llene el tanque por encima del nivel máximo.
ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar el riesgo de quemaduras, tenga cuidado
al llenar la plancha caliente con agua. Las partes metálicas calientes, el
agua caliente y el vapor pueden causar lesiones.
Para usar Turbo Steam™:
SELECCIÓN DE TELAS
1. Llene el tanque de agua hasta el nivel máximo.
Para seleccionar un tipo de tela, presione los botones Selección de Telas

selección de tela esté en SYN (sintética) o SILK (seda).
PLANCHADO EN SECO
1. Enchufe la cuerda en un tomacorriente de corriente alterna
de 120 voltios.
5. La función Turbo Steam™ se activará una vez que la plancha
alcance la temperatura máxima.
2. Seleccione el tipo de tela.
3. Presione el botón de Vapor Apagado.
NOTA: Mientras la función de vapor esté apagado, todavía
puede usar la función Golpe de Vapor o la función Turbo
Steam™. Asegúrese de que el tanque de agua esté lleno hasta el
nivel «Rellenar» (Refill).

FUNCION GOLPE DE VAPOR/VAPOR VERTICAL
La función Golpe de Vapor/Vapor Vertical brinda un chorro
adicional de vapor para lograr una mayor penetración en arrugas
más profundas. Usted puede usar esta función mientras esté
planchando en seco o con vapor, pero el nivel de agua en el
tanque debe estar por encima de la marca «Rellenar» (Refill).
SUGERENCIA: Consulte la Guía de Planchado para ajuste
la temperatura recomendada para su tela.
Para usar la característica Golpe de Vapor/Vapor Vertical:
Coloque la plancha encima de la arruga y presione el botón
Golpe de Vapor cada vez que desee tener un chorro adicional de
vapor. La función Golpe de Vapor se puede usar continuamente
con solo una breve pausa entre chorros tanto en posición hori-
zontal como vertical.
ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar riesgos de quemaduras, mante nga
su mano alejada del área que esté recibiendo
el vapor.
PLANCHADO CON VAPOR
1. Siga las instrucciones “Para llenar el Tanque de Agua”.
2. Enchufe la cuerda en un tomacorriente de CA 120 voltios.
3. Seleccione el tipo de tela.
4. Cuando se encienda la luz verde de listo, presione el botón
de Vapor Encendido.
SUGERENCIA: Consulte la Guía de Planchado para
ajustela temperatura recomendada para su tela.
ADVERTENCIA: NO aplique vapor a trajes mientras los tenga
puestos ya que eso puede resultar en lesiones.

1. Para rellenar y reactivar el sensor, llene con agua el tanque
y luego presione cualquiera de los botones Turbo Steam™,
Vapor Encendido para permitir que el sensor detecte el
nuevo nivel de agua y se restablezca. Ahora se puede reini-
ciar el planchado con vapor.
2. Si se intenta planchar con vapor, pero el tanque de agua NO
se ha rellenado, el sensor detectará esta situación y emitirá
dos tonos sonoros cortos y luego uno largo. Después la
plancha cambiará nuevamente al modo Vapor Apagado
hasta que se rellene el tanque.
APADADO AUTOMATICO MOTION SMART
Cuando la plancha está enchufada, el indicador de Apagado
Automatico (Off) parpadeará continuamente para indicar que
la plancha tiene corriente.
Si deja la plancha:
• En una posición horizontal sin moverla, o accidentalmente
la voltea, automáticamente dejará de calentarse después de
30 segundos. El indicador de Apagado Automatico (Off)
parpadeará continuamente para avisarle que la plancha ha
dejado de calentarse.
• En una posición vertical (o en su posición de descanso) sin
moverla, la plancha se apagará automáticamente después de
15 minutos. El indicador de Apagado Automatico (Off)
parpadeará continuamente para avisarle que la plancha ha
dejado de calentarse.
NOTA: Si no rellena el tanque y reactiva el sensor puede exper-
imentar ruido excesivo y vibración en la plancha.
CUIDADO DE SU PLANCHA DESPUÉS DE USARLA
APAGADO DE SU PLANCHA
1. Use los botones Selección de Tela (L M) para pasar a la
posición Apagado y desenchufe la plancha.
Para reactivar la plancha:
• Muévala hacia adelante y atrás. El indicador de Apagado
Automatico (Off) dejará de parpadear y la plancha volverá a
calentarse nuevamente.
ADVERTENCIA: NUNCA tire el cable eléctrico para desench-
ufar la plancha. Esto puede dañar la cuerda.
IMPORTANTE: El indicador de Apagado Automatico (Off)
parpadeará durante 5 minutos después de activarse el apagado
automático. La plancha se apagará completamente. La plancha
se apagará completamente y no estará iluminada ninguna luz.
Para reactivar la plancha, presione los botones (L M) de
Selección de Tela.
ADVERTENCIA: La función Apagado Automatico Motion
Smart® es un dispositivo de seguridad y no se recomienda como
medio para apagar su plancha. Consulte “Cuidado de su
plancha después de usarla” para ver información sobre el
apagado y guardado seguro de su plancha entre usos.
GUARDADO DE SU PLANCHA
1. Deje que la plancha se enfríe.
2. Si no usa su plancha diariamente, vacíe el tanque de agua
después de cada uso para alargar a vida útil de su plancha.
Para hacerlo, desenchufe la plancha, voltéela al revés, abra
la tapa del orificio del tanque y deje que el agua escurra a
través del orificio. Agite suavemente la plancha para elimi-
nar las gotas de agua que queden atrapadas en el tanque.
3. Enrolle sueltamente el cable eléctrico alrededor del soporte
de descanso y guarde la plancha parada sobre su soporte.
IMPORTANTE: Enrollar el cordón muy ajustadamente alrede-
dor de la plancha puede dañar la cuerda.
INDICADOR DE ALMACENAMIENTO STORAGE STRIP™
El indicador de Almacenamiento Storage Strip™ es una manera
fácil para ver si la plancha está los suficientemente fría como
para guardarla.

MANTENIMIENTO DE SU PLANCHA TURBO STEAM
LIMPIEZA DE LA BASE DE LA PLANCHA
Limpie la base de la plancha si es que se ha acumulado almidón
u otros residuos en ella.
Para usar el indicador Storage Strip™:
Encienda la plancha. En aproximadamente 3 minutos, el indi-
cador Storage Strip™ pasará de negro a rojo para indicar que
la plancha está demasiado caliente para guardarla. Al apagar la
plancha, ésta demorará aproximadamente entre 55 y 65 minu-
tos para que el indicador Storage Strip™ pase de rojo a negro,
indicando que la plancha está lo suficientemente fría para
guardarla.
PRECAUCIÓN: El indicador Storage Strip™ debería usarse
solo como una pauta. La plancha siempre debe manipularse y
guardarse con cuidado.
Para limpiar la base de la plancha:
1. Desconecte la plancha. Deje que la plancha se enfríe y luego
límpiela con un paño suave humedecido.
ADVERTENCIA: NO use limpiadores abrasivos, virutilla o
vinagre para limpiar la base de la plancha. Ellos dañarán el
acabado.
2. Pase la plancha por una tela de algodón para retirar
cualquier residuo.
USO DE LA CARACTERÍSTICA DE AUTOLIMPIEZA
Usted debería usar la función de Autolimpieza una vez al mes
para mantener el rendimiento óptimo de su plancha.
Para usar la característica Autolimpieza:
1. Llene el tanque con agua de la llave hasta la línea

FUNCIÓN CORD LOCK™
Función Cord Lock™ fija la cuerda en la posición de lado
izquierdo o derecho para mantener la cuerda fuera de la ropa.
SISTEMA ANTICALCIO
El Sistema Anticalcio es un sistema permanente ubicado dentro del
tanque de agua. Este sistema elimina los depósitos de calcio del
agua y reduce la acumulación de sarro en la base de la plancha.
SISTEMA ANTIGOTEO
Produce vapor sin goteras, chorreo o fugas a través de la base
de la plancha, incluso a bajas temperaturas.

5. Presione y mantenga presionado el botón Autolimpieza. El

una temperatura baja y auméntela gradualmente

valor bajo, deje pasar aproximadamente 5 minutos

LIMPIEZA DEL SISTEMA ANTICALCIO
La plancha Turbo Steam™ alberga un filtro anticalcio en el
tanque que elimina las impurezas del agua.
Para prolongar la eficiencia de este filtro:
1. Desenchufe la plancha y déjela enfriarse.
2. Use el jarro de agua que acompañaba a la plancha y llénela
con agua. Añada 1 cucharadita de sal al agua y llene el
