1 INTRODUCTION
This manual contains installation, operation and maintenance instructions for the
EC Series counting scale. Please read the manual completely before installation
and operation.
1.1 Product Description
The EC Series is an economical compact counting scale designed for fast, accurate
operation ideally suited for annual inventories, parts rooms, rentals and other counting
applications. Combining an internal accuracy of 1:600,000, Average Piece Weight
(APW) of 0.01g/0.00002lb to 0.1g/0.0002lb (depending on model) and an internal
rechargeable battery, the Ohaus EC Series scale offers accuracy, durability and
portability in one easy-to-use design.
1.2 General Features

1.3 Safety Precautions
For safe and dependable operation of this scale, please comply with the
following safety precautions:
; Verify that the input voltage printed on the AC Adapter and the plug type matches
the local AC power supply.
; Make sure that the power cord does not pose a potential obstacle or tripping
hazard.
; Disconnect the scale from the power supply when cleaning the scale.
; Do not operate the scale in hazardous or unstable environments.
; Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids
; Do not drop loads on the platform.
; Use only approved accessories and peripherals, as available.
; Operate the scale only under ambient conditions specified in these instructions.
; Service should be performed by authorized personnel only.

2 INSTALLATION
2.1 Unpacking
Unpack and verify that the following components have been included:

Weighing Platform (plastic base with stainless steel pan)

AC Adapter
Save the packaging material. This packaging ensures the best possible protection
for the storage or transport of the product.
2.2 Installing Components
Position the weighing platform pins into the through-holes on the top housing, then
set the platform securely into place. Secure the in-use cover with double-sided tape
as needed.
IMPORTANT:
;
BEFORE USING THE SCALE, REMOVE THE SHIPPING PROTECTION SCREW
located underneath the scale. This screw ensures protection of the load cell
during transport, but will need to be removed for the scale to operate properly.
;
It is recommended that the protective screw be re-installed if transporting the
scale. Do not over-tighten the protective screw as it may damage the load cell.
To re-install, turn the scale on and place a 500g weight on the pan, then
slowly screw in the protection screw until the display shows a value between
250g to 400g.
2.3 Selecting the Location
Operate the scale on a firm, level surface. Avoid locations with rapid temperature
changes, excessive dust, moisture, air currents, vibrations, electromagnetic fields,
heat or direct sunlight.
2.4 Leveling the Scale
Adjust the leveling feet until the bubble is centeredin the circle of the level indicator
(located on the front panel).
NOTE: Ensure that the scale is level each time its location is changed.

2.5 Connecting Power
2.5.1 AC Power
Verify that the intended AC power source matches the AC adapter rating. Connect
the supplied AC adapter to the power input receptacle underneath the scale. Plug
the AC adapter into a properly grounded power outlet.
2.5.2 Battery Power
The battery will begin charging with the AC adapter connected accordingly. An LED
indicator below and to the right of the Count window shows the status of battery
charging:

When AC power is not available, the scale will operate on the internal rechargeable
battery. The scale will automatically switch to battery operation if there is a power
failure or the power cord is removed. Low battery charge is indicated by the
annunciator (the scale will operate for approximately 10 hours more before
automatically switching off).
Before using the scale for the first time, the internal rechargeable battery should be
fully charged for up to 12 hours. A fully charged battery can operate the scale for
approximately 80 hours independent of AC power. The scale can be operated
during the charging process. The battery is protected against overcharging and
the scale can remain connected to the AC power line.
NOTES:
; The battery must be recharged every 3 months if the scale is not used for a long
time.
; Dispose of the lead acid battery according to local laws and regulations

2.6 Initial Calibration
When the scale is operated for the first time, a Span Calibration is recommended to
ensure accurate weighing results. Before performing the calibration, be sure to
have the appropriate calibration weights.
Refer to Section 6 for Span Calibration procedures.

3.2 Controls and Functions
• Inputs the indicated sample size and weight to
calculate APW
• Inputs the weight of the object on the weighing pan
as a Tare value
• Long press – enters user setup mode
• Inputs the indicated unit weight value entered via the
numeric keypad
• Zeros the display
• Long press – initiates calibration
• Inputs the indicated value entered via the numeric
keypad as a Pre-set Tare value
• Adds the indicated weight or piece count value into
Accumulation memory
• Long press - recalls and displays the total
Accumulation data: weight, count and number of
weighments
• Clears the indicated input values
• 11 x Numeric keys, 0-9 and decimal point

4 OPERATIONS
4.1 Switching the Unit On and Off
The power switch is located underneath the right-hand side of the scale. Push the
switch to the “I” position to turn the scale on, and to the “O” position to turn the
scale off. Allow 15-30 minutes for the scale to warm up before use.
NOTE: Make sure the weighing pan is empty before turning the scale on.
4.2 Manual Tare
Tare is indicated by the QT annunciator.
Place the container on the weighing
pan (ex. 100g), then press TARE.
“tARE” will be displayed momentarily
before the weight is tared.

4.3 Pre-set Tare
Pre-set Tare is a known tare value entered via the numeric keypad
Pre-set Tare is indicated by the QT annunciator.

4.7 Storing Piece Weight into Memory
There are 10 memory locations (0 to 9 numeric keys) available to store APW values.
After determining the piece weight
(refer to Sec. 4.5 or 4.6), long-press
APW for approx. 2 seconds. “StorE”
will flash on the display.

to store the piece weight data in this

4.9 Accumulation: Weight and Quantity
Accumulation is indicated by the
annunciator.
Place the item to be weighed/counted
on the pan (ex. 300g with APW of
60g). Press M+. “Add”, then the

mal weighing mode.
NOTE: Weight display must return to

6. CALIBRATION
For best results, calibrate the scale at regular intervals. Temperature changes,
geographic gravity variations, altitude changes and abuse are few reasons why a
scale may need recalibration.
When the scale is ideally positioned for operation, enter calibration and proceed as
follows:
Long-press Zero to initiate calibra-
tion (do not release key-press until
“CAL” is displayed).
The required calibration weight is
displayed (ex. 3000g for a 3kg
model). At this time, a different
calibration weight value can be
entered via the numeric keypad.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING
The following table lists common problems, possible causes and remedies. If the
problem persists, contact Ohaus or your authorized Ohaus dealer.

Ohaus products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of
delivery through the duration of the warranty period. During the warranty period, Ohaus will
repair, or, at its option, replace any component(s) that proves to be defective at no charge,
provided that the product is returned, freight prepaid, to Ohaus.
This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident or misuse, exposed
to radioactive or corrosive materials, has foreign material penetrating to the inside of the
product, or as a result of service or modification by other than Ohaus. In lieu of a properly
returned warranty registration card, the warranty period shall begin on the date of shipment to
the authorized dealer. No other express or implied warranty is given by Ohaus Corporation.
Ohaus Corporation shall not be liable for any consequential damages.

1 INTRODUCCIÓN
Este manual contiene las instrucciones de instalación, operación y mantenimiento para las
básculas de recuento de la Serie EC. Lea el manual por completo antes de la instalación y
operación.
1.1 Descripción del producto
La Serie EC es una báscula de recuento compacta y económica diseñada para una operación
rápida y exacta y es conveniente para inventarios anuales, bodegas de partes, alquileres y otras
aplicaciones de recuento. Combinando una exactitud interna de 1:600 000, un peso promedio
de la pieza (APW) de 0.01g a 0.1 g (dependiendo del modelo) y una batería recargable interna,
la báscula Serie EC de Ohaus ofrece exactitud, durabilidad y transportabilidad en un diseño fácil
de usar.
1.2 Características generales

1.3 Medidas de seguridad
Para una operación segura y confiable de esta báscula, por favor siga
las siguientes medidas de seguridad:
; Verifique que el voltaje de entrada impreso en el Adaptador de CA y el tipo de conector
coincidan con el suministro eléctrico local de CA.
; Asegúrese de que el cable de alimentación no representa un obstáculo potencial o peligro de
tropiezo.
; Desconecte la báscula de la alimentación eléctrica al limpiarla.
; No opere la báscula en ambientes peligrosos o inestables.
; No sumerja la báscula en agua u otros líquidos.
; No deje caer cargas sobre la plataforma.
; Utilice sólo los accesorios y periféricos aprobados, según estén disponibles.
; Opere la báscula sólo bajo las condiciones ambientales especificadas en estas instrucciones.

2 INSTALACIÓN
2.1 Desembalaje
Desempaque y verifique que los siguientes componentes hayan sido incluidos:

Adaptador de CA
Guarde el material de empaque. Este empaque asegura la mejor protección posible
para el almacenamiento o el transporte del producto.
2.2 Instalación de los componentes
Posicione los pines de la plataforma de pesaje en los agujeros en la parte superior
de la caja, entonces coloque la plataforma de una forma segura en su lugar.
Asegure en-utilizan la cubierta con la cinta de doble cara según lo necesitado.
IMPORTANTE:
;
ANTES DE UTILIZAR LA BÁSCULA, QUITE EL TORNILLO DE PROTECCIÓN PARA
EMBARQUE localizado debajo de la báscula. Este tornillo asegura la protección
de la celda de carga durante el transporte pero necesitará ser removido de la
báscula para operarla apropiadamente.
;
Se recomienda volver a instalar el tornillo de protección si se va a transportar
la báscula. No apretar demasiado éste tornillo ya que puede dañar la celda
de carga. Para volver a instalarlo, encienda la báscula y coloque un peso de
500 g sobre la bandeja; después, lentamente, introduzca el tornillo de protección
hasta que el lector indique un valor entre 250 g y 400 g.
2.3 Selección de la ubicación
Opere la báscula sobre una superficie firme y nivelada. Evite lugares con cambios
bruscos de temperatura, exceso de polvo, humedad, corrientes de aire, vibraciones,
campos electromagnéticos, calor o la exposición directa a la luz solar.
2.4 Nivelación de la báscula
Ajuste las patas de nivelación hasta que la burbuja esté centrada en el círculo del
indicador de nivelación (localizado en el tablero frontal).
NOTA: Asegúrese de que la báscula está nivelada cada vez que cambie su ubicación.

2.5 Conexión a la red eléctrica
2.5.1 Alimentación CA
Verifique que la fuente de alimentación eléctrica CA coincide con la clasificación
del adaptador CA. Conecte el adaptador CA suministrado a la toma de alimentación
debajo de la báscula. Conecte el adaptador CA al tomacorriente con una puesta a
tierra adecuada.
2.5.2 Alimentación con baterías
La batería comenzará a cargarse con el adaptador de CA conectado. Un indicador
LED en la parte inferior derecha de la ventana de Recuento muestra el estado de
carga de la batería:

Cuando la alimentación CA no está disponible, la báscula operará con la batería
recargable interna. La báscula cambiará automáticamente a la operación con
baterías si existe una falla en el suministro eléctrico o si se desconecta el cable de
alimentación. La carga baja de la batería es indicada por el anunciador
(la
báscula operará durante aproximadamente 10 horas más antes de apagarse
automáticamente).
Antes de utilizar la báscula por primera vez, la batería recargable interna debe
cargarse completamente hasta por 12 horas. Una batería cargada completamente
puede operar la báscula durante aproximadamente 80 horas independiente de la
alimentación CA. La báscula puede operar durante el proceso de carga. La batería
está protegida contra la sobrecarga y la báscula puede permanecer conectada a
la línea de alimentación CA.

La batería debe recargarse cada 3 meses si la báscula no es utilizada durante
un periodo prolongado.

2.6 Calibración inicial
Cuando la báscula es operada por primera vez, se recomienda la calibración de
extensión para asegurar resultados de pesaje exactos. Antes de realizar la
calibración, asegúrese de tener pesos de calibración adecuados.
Consulte en la Sección 6 los procedimientos de calibración de extensión.

3.2 Controles y funciones
• Ingresa el tamaño de muestra indicado y pesa para
calcular el APW
• Ingresa el peso del objeto sobre el plato de pesaje
como un valor de Tara
• Pulso sostenido – entra al modo de configuración
del usuario
• Ingresa el valor de peso en la unidad indicada con
el teclado numérico

• Pulso sostenido – inicia la calibración
• Ingresa el valor indicado con el teclado numérico
como un valor de tara preestablecida
• Suma el peso indicado o el valor del recuento de
piezas en la memoria de acumulación

4 OPERACIONES
4.1 Encendido y apagado de la unidad
El interruptor de corriente está localizado por debajo, a la derecha de la báscula.
Pulse el interruptor en la posición “I” para encender la báscula y en la posición “O”
para apagarla. Espere 15-30 minutos para que la báscula se caliente antes de
utilizarla.
NOTA: Asegúrese de que el plato de pesaje está vacío antes de encender la báscula.
4.2 Tara manual
La tara es indicada por el anunciador QT.
Coloque el recipiente sobre el
plato de pesaje (ej. 100 g), luego

6. CALIBRACIÓN
Para mejores resultados, calibre la báscula a intervalos regulares. Los cambios de
temperatura, las variaciones geográficas de la gravedad, los cambios de altitud y
el abuso son unas pocas razones por las cuales una báscula puede necesitar una
nueva calibración.
Cuando la báscula está en posición ideal para su operación, ingrese en la
calibración y proceda como sigue:
Pulse sostenidamente Zero para iniciar
la calibración (no deje de pulsar la tecla
hasta que se visualice “CAL”).El peso
de calibración requerido es visualizado
(ej. 3 000 g para un modelo de 3 kg).
En este momento, puede ingresarse un
valor de peso de calibración diferente
con el teclado numérico.

7. SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
La siguiente tabla enumera los problemas comunes, las posibles causas y las
soluciones. Si el problema persiste, contacte a Ohaus o a su distribuidor autorizado
de Ohaus.

Ohaus reparará o cambiará opcionalmente cualquier componente o componentes que resulten
defectuosos, de forma gratuita, siempre que el producto sea remitido a Ohaus con los portes
pagados.
Esta garantía no será aplicable si el producto ha resultado dañado por accidente o uso
incorrecto, si ha sido expuesto a materiales radiactivos o corrosivos, si algún material extraño
ha penetrado en el interior del producto, o como resultado de una reparación o modificación
efectuada por una empresa distinta de Ohaus. En ausencia de una tarjeta de registro de
garantía debidamente remitida, el periodo de garantía empezará en la fecha de la expedición
al concesionario autorizado. No existe ninguna otra garantía expresa ni implícita otorgada por

1 INTRODUCTION
Ce guide contient des instructions d'installation, de fonctionnement et de maintenance
de la balance de comptage, série EC. Veuillez lire toutes ces instructions avant
l'installation et l'utilisation de la balance.
1.1 Description du produit
La série EC est une balance de comptage compacte économique, rapide et précise,
idéale pour les inventaires annuels, les salles de pièces de rechange, les locations
et les autres applications de comptage. Offrant une précision interne de 1:600
000, un poids moyen des pièces (APW) de 0,01 g à 0,1 g (en fonction du modèle)
et une batterie rechargeable interne, la balance Ohaus série EC garantit exactitude,
durabilité et mobilité dans une conception conviviale.
1.2 Caractéristiques générales

1.3 Consignes de sécurité
Pour garantir un fonctionnement sécuritaire et fiable de la balance,
conformez-vous aux précautions de sécurité suivantes :
; Vérifiez que la tension d'entrée imprimée sur l'adaptateur CA et que le type de la
fiche correspond à l'alimentation CA locale.
; Assurez-vous que le cordon ne représente pas d'obstacle potentiel ou de danger
de chute.
; Déconnectez la balance de l'alimentation électrique pour la nettoyer.
; N'utilisez pas la balance dans des environnements dangereux ou instables.
; Ne plongez pas la balance dans l'eau, ni dans d'autres liquides.
; Ne faites pas tomber de charge sur la plate-forme.
; Utilisez uniquement les accessoires et les périphériques approuvés, si disponibles.
; N'utilisez la balance que dans les conditions ambiantes spécifiées dans les
présentes instructions.
; Les réparations doivent être exécutées exclusivement par un personnel autorisé.

2 INSTALLATION
2.1 Déballage
Déballez le produit et vérifiez que les composants suivants ont été inclus :

Conservez l'emballage. Ces matériaux garantissent la meilleure protection pos-
sible en cas de stockage ou de transport nécessaire de l'instrument.
2.2 Installation des composants
Placez les goupilles de la plate-forme de pesage dans les trous sur le boîtier supérieur,
puis positionnez la plate-forme sécuritairement. Fixez dans-emploient la couverture
avec la bande à côté double comme nécessaire
IMPORTANT :

AVANT D’UTILISER LA BALANCE, ENLEVER LA VIS DE PROTECTION D’EXPÉDITION
située sous la balance. Cette vis garantit la protection de la cellule de pesage
pendant le transport. Toutefois elle doit être enlevée pour que la balance puisse
fonctionner correctement.

Il est recommandé de réinstaller la vis protectrice pour transporter la balance.
Ne serrez pas la vis protectrice avec excès sous risque d’endommager la cellule
de pesage. Pour la réinstallation, mettez la balance en marche et placez un
poids de 500 g sur le plateau, vissez lentement la vis protectrice jusqu’à que
l’affichage indique une valeur entre 250 et 400 g.
2.3 Sélection de l'emplacement
Placez la balance sur une surface solide et équilibrée. Évitez les emplacements
avec des variations de température brusques, de la poussière, de l’humidité, des
courants d'air, des vibrations, des champs électromagnétiques, des sources de
chaleur ou de lumière excessives.
2.4 Mise à niveau de la balance
Ajustez les pieds de nivellement en veillant à ce que la bulle soit centrée dans le
cercle de l'indicateur de niveau situé à l’avant de la balance.
REMARQUE : assurez-vous que la balance est à niveau chaque fois que vous la
changez de place.

2.5 Branchement
2.5.1 Alimentation CA
Vérifiez que l’alimentation CA correspond à l’adaptateur CA. Branchez l’adaptateur
CA à la prise d’entrée d’alimentation sous la balance. Branchez l’adaptateur CA
dans une prise correctement mise à la terre.
2.5.2 Batterie
La batterie commence à charger avec l’adaptateur CA branché. Un indicateur DEL
sous et à droite de la fenêtre Count [Comptage] indique le niveau de charge de la
batterie :

La batterie est entièrement chargée
La batterie est partiellement chargée et en cours de chargement
La batterie est presque déchargée
Lorsque l’alimentation CA n’est pas disponible, la balance fonctionne sur la batterie
interne rechargeable. La balance passe automatiquement en mode batterie en cas
de coupure de courant ou si le cordon d'alimentation est enlevé. Une charge faible
de la batterie est signalée par l’indicateur
(la balance fonctionne pendant
environ 10 heures avant d’être automatiquement désactivée).
Avant d'utiliser la balance pour la première fois, la batterie interne rechargeable
doit être totalement chargée pendant 12 heures. Une batterie totalement chargée
peut faire fonctionner la balance pendant 80 heures environ, indépendamment de
la ligne d'alimentation CA. La balance peut être utilisée pendant le rechargement.
La batterie est protégée contre la surcharge et la balance peut rester connectée à la
ligne CA.
REMARQUES :
; La batterie doit être rechargée tous les 3 mois si la balance n’est pas utilisée
pendant une longue période.
; Jetez la batterie au plomb usée en respectant les lois et réglementations en
vigueur.
ATTENTION
SEUL UN TECHNICIEN AGRÉÉ OHAUS EST AUTORISÉ À CHANGER LA BATTERIE. LA
BATTERIE RISQUE D'EXPLOSER SI ELLE EST REMPLACÉE PAR UN TYPE INADAPTÉ OU
SI ELLE N'EST PAS CONNECTÉE CORRECTEMENT.
2.6 Étalonnage initial
Lorsque la balance est mise en service pour la première fois, il est recommandé
d’effectuer un étalonnage de la portée pour garantir des résultats de pesage précis.
Avant d'exécuter l'étalonnage, assurez-vous d'avoir des poids d'étalonnage
appropriés.

3 PRÉSENTATION DES COMMANDES ET DES FONCTIONS
3.1 Symboles à l’écran
• La fenêtre Poids affiche le poids de l’objet situé sur
le plateau de pesage ou la valeur du poids accumulé.
“WEIGHT”
• Indicateur de centre de zéro
• Indication de la tare ou de la tare prédéfinie (PT)
• La fenêtre Poids des pièces affiche le poids moyen
des pièces (APW) ou le nombre des pesées
“PIECE WEIGHT”
“Wt. Lo”
• Indication d’un poids bas d’échantillon. Le poids
total de l’échantillon est inférieur à 10 divisions
d’affichage, ajoutez plus d’échantillons pour obtenir
un relevé précis
• Indication d’un poids moyen bas des pièces. L’APW
calculé est inférieur à 1/10e des divisions d’affichage,
le poids de l’unité est trop bas pour garantir des
calculs précis de la quantité

• La fenêtre Comptage des pièces affiche le nombre
de pièces calculées sur le plateau de pesage ou la
valeur du comptage de pièces accumulées.

3.2 Commandes et fonctions
• Permet de saisir la taille des échantillons indiqués et
le poids pour calculer l’APW
• Permet de saisir le poids de l’objet situé sur le plateau
de pesage comme valeur de tare
• Appuyez pendant un certain temps pour activer le
mode de configuration de l’utilisateur
• Permet de saisir la valeur du poids de l’unité indiquée
via le clavier numérique
• Permet de remettre l’affichage à zéro
• Appuyez sur le bouton pendant un certain temps
pour lancer l’étalonnage
• Permet de saisir la valeur indiquée via le clavier
numérique comme valeur de tare prédéfinie
• Permet d’ajouter le poids ou la valeur de comptage
indiquée dans la mémoire d’accumulation
• Appuyez pendant un certain temps pour rappeler et
afficher les données d’accumulation totale : poids,
comptage et nombre de pesées
• Permet d’effacer les valeurs saisies indiquées

4 FONCTIONNEMENT
4.1 Activation et désactivation de l’unité
L’interrupteur d’alimentation est situé sous le côté droit de la balance. Placez
l’interrupteur en position I pour activer la balance et en position O pour désactiver
la balance. Attendez entre 15 et 30 minutes avant d’utiliser la balance.
REMARQUE : assurez-vous que le plateau de pesage est vide avant d’activer la
balance.
4.2 Tare manuelle
La tare est indiquée par le symbole suivant : QT.
Placez le conteneur sur le plateau
de pesage (par ex. 100 g), appuyez
ensuite sur TARE. Le terme Tare
s’affiche quelques instants avant
l’exécution de l’opération.

4.3 Tare prédéfinie
La Tare prédéfinie est une valeur de tare connue saisie à l'aide du pavé numérique.
La tare prédéfinie est indiquée par le symbole suivant : QT.

6. ÉTALONNAGE
Pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats, étalonnez la balance à des intervalles réguliers.
Les variations de température, les variations de gravité géographique, les
changements d’altitude et toute manipulation brutale sont des exemples de raison
justifiant un réétalonnage.
Lorsque la balance est placée correctement, saisissez l’étalonnage et procédez
comme suit :

1 EINLEITUNG
Dieses Handbuch enthält Anweisungen zur Installation, zum Betrieb und zur Wartung
der Zählwaage der EC-Serie. Bitte lesen Sie das Handbuch vor der Installation und
Inbetriebnahme vollständig durch.
1.1 Produktbeschreibung
Bei der EC-Serie handelt es sich um eine wirtschaftliche, kompakte Zählwaage, die
für einen schnellen, genauen Betrieb entwickelt wurde und für Jahresabrechnungen,
Stücklager, Verleihbetriebe und sonstige Zählanwendungen ideal geeignet ist. Mit
einer internen Genauigkeit von 1:600.000, einem durchschnittlichen Stückgewicht
(APW) von 0,01 g bis 0,1 g (je nach Modell) und einem internen aufladbaren Akku
bietet die Ohaus-Waage der EC-Serie Genauigkeit, Haltbarkeit und Tragbarkeit in
einer benutzerfreundlichen Konstruktion.

1.3 Sicherheitsvorkehrungen
Zur Gewährleistung eines sicheren und zuverlässigen Betriebs dieser
Waage treffen Sie bitte folgende Sicherheitsvorkehrungen:
; Sicherstellen, dass die auf dem Netzadapter aufgedruckte Eingangsspannung
und der Steckertyp der örtlichen Netzspannung entspricht.
; Sicherstellen, dass das Netzkabel kein potenzielles Hindernis bzw. keine
Stolpergefahr darstellt.
; Während der Reinigung die Stromzufuhr zur Waage unterbrechen.
; Diese Waage nicht in explosionsgefährdeten oder instabilen Umgebungen einsetzen.
; Die Waage nicht in Wasser oder sonstige Flüssigkeiten eintauchen.
; Keine Lasten auf die Plattform fallen lassen.

2 INSTALLATION
2.1 Auspacken
Packen Sie das Gerät aus und stellen Sie sicher, dass folgende Komponenten
enthalten sind:

; Wägeplattform (Kunststoffsockel mit Edelstahlschale)
; Bedienungsanleitung
; Netzadapter
Das Verpackungsmaterial aufbewahren. Diese Verpackung stellt den bestmöglichen
Schutz des Produkts für eine Lagerung oder einen Transport dar.
2.2 Komponenten installieren
Positionieren Sie die Wägeplattformstifte in die Durchgangslöcher auf dem oberen
Gehäuse und setzen Sie die Plattform so auf, dass sie sich sicher in ihrer Position
befindet. Sichern Sie in-verwenden Abdeckung mit doppelseitigem Klebeband, wie
gebraucht.
WICHTIG:
; VOR VERWENDUNG DER WAAGE DIE VERSANDSCHUTZSCHRAUBE ENTFERNEN,
die sich unter der Waage befindet. Diese Schraube gewährleistet den Schutz der
Wägezelle während des Transports, muss jedoch entfernt werden, damit die Waage
richtig funktionieren kann.
; Es wird empfohlen, für den Transport der Waage die Schutzschraube wieder
einzubauen. Die Schutzschraube darf nicht zu stark festgezogen werden, da
ansonsten die Wägezelle beschädigt werden kann. Zum Wiedereinbauen wird
die Waage eingeschaltet, ein Gewicht von 500 g auf die Schale gelegt und die
Schutzschraube langsam eingeschraubt, bis auf der Anzeige ein Wert zwischen
250 g und 400 g eingeblendet wird.
2.3 Standort auswählen
Betreiben Sie die Waage auf einer festen, stabilen Oberfläche. Vermeiden Sie Standorte
mit schnellen Temperaturänderungen, übermäßig viel Staub, Feuchtigkeit,
Luftströmungen, Vibrationen, elektromagnetischen Feldern, Wärme oder direkter
Sonneneinwirkung.
2.4 Waage nivellieren
Stellen Sie die Nivellierfüße so ein, dass die Wasserblase im Kreis der
Nivellierungsanzeige (auf der Vorderplatte) zentriert ist.
HINWEIS: Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Waage eben aufgestellt
wird, wenn sie an einem anderen Ort zum Einsatz kommt.

2.5 Stromversorgung anschließen
2.5.1 Netzstrom
Es muss überprüft werden, ob die geplante Netzstromversorgung mit der
Nennspannung des Netzadapters übereinstimmt. Schließen Sie den mitgelieferten
Netzadapter an die Eingangsbuchse unter der Waage an. Stecken Sie den
Netzadapter in eine ordnungsgemäße Steckdose ein.
2.5.2 Batteriestrom
Wenn der Netzadapter richtig angeschlossen ist, beginnt der Akku mit dem Aufladen.
Eine LED-Anzeige unter dem Zählfenster rechts zeigt den Ladestatus des Akkus an:

Wenn kein Netzstrom zur Verfügung steht, wird die Waage über den internen
aufladbaren Akku betrieben. Die Waage schaltet automatisch auf Akkubetrieb um,
wenn ein Stromausfall auftritt oder das Netzkabel herausgezogen wird. Ein niedriger
Akkustand wird durch das Anzeigeelement
angezeigt (die Waage kann noch
ca. 10 Stunden lang betrieben werden, bevor Sie sich automatisch ausschaltet).
Bevor die Waage zum ersten Mal in Betrieb genommen wird, sollte der interne
aufladbare Akku bis zu 12 Stunden voll geladen werden. Ein voll geladener Akku
kann die Waage unabhängig von der Netzstromversorgung bis zu 80 Stunden
lang betreiben. Die Waage kann während dieses Ladeverfahrens benutzt werden.
Die Batterie ist gegen eine Überladung geschützt, und die Waage kann weiterhin
am Netzstrom angeschlossen bleiben.
HINWEISE:

nicht benutzt wird.

2.6 Anfängliche Kalibrierung
Bei der erstmaligen Inbetriebnahme der Waage wird eine Messspannenkalibrierung
empfohlen, um genaue Wägeergebnisse zu gewährleisten. Vor dem Durchführen
der Kalibrierung muss sichergestellt werden, dass die entsprechenden
Kalibriergewichte vorhanden sind.
Die Verfahren zur Messspannenkalibrierung sind in Abschnitt 6 beschrieben.

4 BETRIEB
4.1 Waage ein- und ausschalten
Der Netzschalter befindet sich unter der Waage rechts. Drücken Sie den Schalter in
die Position „I“, um die Waage einzuschalten, bzw. in die Position „O“, um sie
auszuschalten. Lassen Sie die Waage vor der Verwendung 15-30 Minuten
aufwärmen.
HINWEIS: Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Wägeschale vor dem Einschalten der Waage
leer ist.
4.2 Manuelle Tara
Tara wird durch das Anzeigeelement QT angezeigt.
Stellen Sie den Behälter auf die
Schale (Beispiel 100 g) und drücken
Sie dann auf TARE. Auf der Waage
erscheint kurz „tARE“, bevor das
Gewicht tariert wird.

bis 9) zur Verfügung.

4.9 Akkumulation: Gewichte und Menge
Akkumulation wird durch das Anzeigeelement

Platzieren Sie das zu wiegende/zählende
Objekt auf die Schale (Beispiel 300 g
mit einem APW von 60 g). Drücken Sie
auf M+. Nach dem Hinzufügen wird das
Akkumulationsereignis kurz angezeigt,
bevor wieder der normale Wägemodus
aufgerufen wird.
HINWEIS: Die Gewichtsanzeige muss auf
Null zurückkehren, bevor die nächste
Akkumulation erfasst werden kann.
Zum Abrufen der Akkumulations-
gesamtdaten drücken Sie auf M+; dabei
darf sich kein Gewicht auf der Schale
befinden. Die Daten werden kurz
angezeigt, bevor der normale

6. KALIBRIERUNG
Zur Erzielung der besten Ergebnisse muss die Waage in regelmäßigen Abständen
kalibriert werden. Temperaturänderungen, geografische Schwerkraftsvariationen,
Höhenänderungen und Missbrauch sind einige Gründe dafür, warum eine Waage
neu kalibriert werden muss.
Nachdem eine Waage für den Betrieb ideal positioniert wurde, rufen Sie die
Kalibrierung auf und gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
Zum Einleiten der Kalibrierung wird
lange auf Zero gedrückt (erst dann Taste
loslassen, wenn CAL erscheint).
Das erforderliche Kalibriergewicht wird
angezeigt (Beispiel 3000 g für ein Modell
mit 3 kg). Zu diesem Zeitpunkt kann

BESCHRÄNKTE GARANTIE
Auf Ohaus-Produkte wird ab Datum der Auslieferung über die Dauer des Garantiezeitraums
hinweg eine Garantie gegen Material- und Herstellungsmängel gegeben. Während des
Garantiezeitraums wird Ohaus kostenlos jegliche Komponente(n), die sich als defekt erweist
(erweisen), reparieren oder nach eigenem Ermessen ersetzen, wenn das Produkt bei
Vorauszahlung der Versandkosten an Ohaus zurückgeschickt wird.
Die Garantie gilt nicht, wenn das Produkt durch einen Unfall oder durch Missbrauch beschädigt
wurde, wenn es radioaktiven oder korrodierenden Materialien ausgesetzt wurde, wenn Fremdkörper
das Innere des Produkts durchdrungen haben oder wenn es auf Grund einer Reparatur oder
Modifikation beschädigt wurde, die nicht von Ohaus durchgeführt wurde. Wenn keine
ordnungsgemäß zurückgeschickte Garantieregistrierungskarte vorliegt, beginnt der
Garantiezeitraum am Datum der Lieferung an den Vertragshändler. Die Ohaus Corporation gibt
keine sonstige ausdrückliche oder stillschweigende Garantie. Die Ohaus Corporation ist nicht
für irgendwelche Folgeschäden haftbar.
Da die Gesetzgebung in Bezug auf Garantien von Bundesstaat zu Bundesstaat und von Land
zu Land unterschiedlich ist, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ohaus oder Ihren örtlichen Ohaus-

1 INTRODUCTION
Questo manuale illustra l'installazione, il funzionamento e la manutenzione della
bilancia per conteggio di pezzi della Serie EC. Leggere il manuale completamente
prima dell'installazione e dell'utilizzo.
1.1 Descrizione del prodotto
La Serie EC è una bilancia contapezzi compatta ed economica progettata per un
funzionamento veloce ed esatto ideale per inventari annuali, depositi di componenti,
attività di noleggio e altre applicazioni di conteggio. Con un'precisione interna pari
a 1: 600.000, un peso medio per pezzo (Average Piece Weight-APW) compreso tra
0,01 g e 0,1 g (in base al modello) e una batteria interna ricaricabile, la bilancia
Ohaus Serie EC offre precisione, durata e portabilità in un modello di facile utilizzo.
1.2 Caratteristiche generali

; Alloggiamento in plastica durevole con copertura di protezione

1.3 Precauzioni di sicurezza
Per il funzionamento sicuro e affidabile di questa bilancia, rispettare le
precauzioni di sicurezza di seguito elencate:
; Verificare che la tensione d'ingresso stampata sull'alimentatore di rete e il tipo di
spina corrispondano a quelli dell'alimentazione elettrica locale.
; Accertarsi che il cavo di alimentazione non rappresenti un potenziale ostacolo o
che non vi s'inciampi.
; Prima di pulire la bilancia, provvedere a scollegarla dall'alimentazione elettrica.
; Non utilizzare la bilancia in ambienti pericolosi o non stabili.
; Non immergere la bilancia in acqua o in altri liquidi.
; Non far cadere pesi sulla piattaforma di pesa.
; Utilizzare solo accessori e periferiche approvate, a seconda della disponibilità.
; Utilizzare la bilancia solo nelle condizioni ambientali specificate in queste istruzioni.
; La manutenzione deve essere eseguita soltanto da personale autorizzato.

2 INSTALLAZIONE
2.1 Disimballaggio
Disimballare e verificare che siano inclusi i componenti di seguito elencati:

Piattaforma di pesa (base di plastica con vassoio in acciaio inossidabile)
Manuale d'istruzioni
Alimentatore di rete
Conservare il materiale per l'imballaggio. Questo imballaggio garantisce la migliore
protezione possibile per lo stoccaggio o il trasporto del prodotto.
2.2 Installazione dei componenti
Posizionare i perni della piattaforma di pesa nei fori passanti sulla parte superiore
dell'alloggiamento, quindi fissare saldamente in posizione la piattaforma. Fissi
in-usano la copertura con nastro adesivo su due lati come stato necessario.
IMPORTANTE:

PRIMA DI UTILIZZARE LA BILANCIA, RIMUOVERE LA VITE DI PROTEZIONE PER
USO IN CASO DI SPEDIZIONE ubicata nella parte inferiore della bilancia. Questa
vite garantisce la protezione della cella di carico durante il trasporto, ma è
necessaria la sua rimozione affinché la bilancia funzioni correttamente.

Per il trasporto della bilancia, si raccomanda di installare la vite di protezione.
Non serrare eccessivamente la vite protettiva, altrimenti si potrebbe danneggiare
la cella di carico. Per la reinstallazione, accendere al bilancia e mettere un
peso da 500 g sul vassoio, quindi avvitare lentamente la vite di protezione fin
quando il visualizzatore non indica un peso fra 250 g e 400 g.
2.3 Scelta dell'ubicazione
Utilizzare la bilancia su una superficie solida e piatta. Evitare luoghi dove ci siano
repentine variazioni di temperatura, polvere eccessiva, umidità, correnti d'aria, vibrazioni,
campi elettromagnetici, calore eccessivo o esposizione diretta alla luce solare.
2.4 Messa a livello della bilancia
Spostare i piedini di regolazione di livello finché la bolla non si trova al centro
dell'indicatore di livello (situato sul pannello anteriore).
NOTA: accertarsi che la bilancia si trovi in piano ogni volta che la sua posizione
viene modificata.

2.5 Collegamento dell'alimentazione elettrica
2.5.1 Alimentazione elettrica di rete
Verificare che la sorgente di alimentazione elettrica di rete prevista corrisponda ai
limiti d'impiego dell'alimentatore di rete. Collegare l'alimentatore di rete in dotazione
alla presa d'ingresso dell'alimentazione nella parte inferiore della bilancia. Inserire
l'alimentatore di rete in una presa di alimentazione correttamente messa a terra.
2.5.2 Alimentazione a batteria
La batteria inizia a caricarsi con l'alimentatore di rete collegato di conseguenza.
Un indicatore LE al di sotto e alla destra della finestra Count (Conteggio) indica lo
stato di carica della batteria:
• Verde
• Giallo
• Rosso

la batteria è caricata completamente
la batteria è caricata parzialmente e la carica è in corso
la batteria è quasi scarica
Quando l'alimentazione elettrica di rete non è disponibile, la bilancia funziona con
la batteria interna ricaricabile. La bilancia passa automaticamente al funzionamento
a batteria in caso di guasto dell'alimentazione elettrica o di rimozione del cavo di
alimentazione. La carica bassa della batteria viene segnalata dall'indicatore
(la
bilancia continua a funzionare per circa altre 10 ore prima di spegnersi
automaticamente).
Prima di utilizzare la bilancia per la prima volta, la batteria interna ricaricabile deve
essere caricata completamente fino a 12 ore. Una batteria completamente carica
consente alla bilancia di funzionare per circa 80 ore indipendentemente
dall'alimentazione elettrica di rete. È possibile utilizzare la bilancia durante il processo
di carica. La batteria è protetta dalla sovraccarica e la bilancia può rimanere
collegata alla linea dell'alimentazione elettrica di rete.
NOTE:
; Ricaricare la batteria ogni 3 mesi se la bilancia non viene utilizzata per un lungo
periodo di tempo.
; Disfarsi della batteria al piombo secondo le norme e le disposizioni locali
ATTENZIONE
LA BATTERIA DEVE ESSERE SOSTITUITA SOLO DA UN RIVENDITORE AUTORIZZATO
OHAUS PER L'ASSISTENZA. C'È IL PERICOLO DI ESPLOSIONE SE LA BATTERIA VIENE
SOSTITUITA CON IL TIPO ERRATO O COLLEGATA IN MODO SCORRETTO
2.6 Taratura iniziale
Quando la bilancia viene utilizzata per la prima volta, viene consigliata una taratura
a intervallo per garantire risultati di pesa accurati. Prima di eseguire la taratura,
accertarsi di disporre dei pesi di taratura adatti.
Consultare la Sezione 6 per le procedure relative alla taratura a intervallo.

3 PANORAMICA DEI COMANDI E DELLE FUNZIONI
3.1 Simboli del display
“WEIGHT”
• Finestra Weight (Peso). Visualizza il peso dell'oggetto sul
vassoio di pesa o il valore del peso accumulato.
• Indicatore di centro di zero
• Indicatore di tara o tara predefinita
• Finestra Piece Weight (Peso per pezzo). Visualizza il valore
del Peso medio per pezzo (Average Piece Weight-APW) o
il numero di pesate.
“PIECE WEIGHT”
“Wt. Lo”
• Indicatore di peso basso del campione. Il peso totale del
campione è minore di 10 divisioni del display; aggiungere
altri campioni per una lettura più accurata.
• Indicatore di peso medio per pezzo basso. Il peso medio
per pezzo (APW) calcolato è minore di 1/10 delle divisioni
del display; il peso unitario è troppo piccolo per garantire
calcoli accurati delle quantità.
“APW Lo”
“COUNT”
• Finestra Piece Count (Conteggio dei pezzi). Visualizza il
numero calcolato di pezzi sul vassoio di pesa, o il valore
di conteggio dei pezzi accumulato.
• La bilancia è in modalità Accumulation (Accumulazione).
• Carica bassa della batteria, provvedere alla ricarica.
• Indicatore di stabilità. La bilancia è in condizioni stabili.
“STB”
o LED
• Indicatore di stato di carica della batteria:
o Verde – la batteria è caricata completamente
o Giallo – la batteria è caricata parzialmente e la carica è
in corso
o Rosso – la batteria è quasi scarica

3.2 Comandi e funzioni
• Immette la dimensione e il peso di campionatura
indicati per calcolare il Peso medio per pezzo (APW).
• Immette il peso dell'oggetto sul vassoio di pesa come
un valore di tara.
• Se premuto a lungo, immette la modalità
d'impostazione dell'utente.
• Immette il valore di pesa unitario indicato che è stato
inserito con il tastierino numerico.
• Azzera il display.
• Se premuto a lungo, avvia la taratura.
• Immette il valore indicato inserito con il tastierino
numerico come un valore di tara predefinita.
• Aggiunge nella memoria di accumulazione il valore
di conteggio del peso o dei pezzi indicato.
• Se premuto a lungo, richiama e visualizza i dati
dell'accumulazione totale: peso, conteggio e numero
di pesate
• Cancella i valori d'ingresso indicati.

4 OPERAZIONI
4.1 Accensione e spegnimento delle unità
L'interruttore di alimentazione elettrica si trova nella parte inferiore del lato destro
della bilancia. Spingere l'interruttore nella posizione "I" per accendere la bilancia e
nella posizione "O" per spegnerla. Prima di utilizzare la bilancia, farla riscaldare
per 15-30 minuti.
NOTA: prima di accendere la bilancia, accertarsi che il vassoio di pesa sia vuoto.
4.2 Tara manuale
La tara viene segnalata dall'indicatore QT.
Disporre il contenitore sul vassoio
di pesa (ad es. 100 g), quindi
premere TARE (Tara). Viene
momentaneamente visualizzata la
scritta "tARE" prima di tarare il peso.

4.3 Tara predefinita
La tara predefinita è un valore di tara noto immesso con il tastierino numerico.

Sono disponibili 10 posizioni di memoria (tasti numerici da 0 a 9) per memorizzare
i valori di APW.
Dopo avere determinato il Peso per
pezzo (consultare la Sezione 4.5 o 4.6),
premere APW (Peso medio per pezzo)
per circa 2 secondi. Sul display
lampeggia la scritta "StorE".
Premere uno qualsiasi dei tasti numerici
per memorizzare i dati relativi al Peso

6. TARATURA
Per avere risultati ottimali, tarare la bilancia a intervalli regolari. Variazioni di
temperatura, variazioni della gravità ambientale, modifiche di altitudine e cattivo
uso sono alcuni dei motivi per i quali può essere necessario tarare nuovamente
una bilancia.
Quando la bilancia è posizionata in modo ottimale per l'utilizzo, immettere la taratura
e precedere nella maniera seguente:

la taratura (non lasciar andare il tasto,
ma premere fino alla visualizzazione

Viene visualizzato il peso di taratura

valore diverso del peso di taratura.

7. INDIVIDUAZIONE GUASTI
La tavola seguente elenca alcuni problemi comuni, le loro cause possibili e le varie
soluzioni. Se il problema dovesse persistere, mettersi in contatto con Ohaus o con
un rivenditore autorizzato Ohaus.
