DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW
The CCQ1400A-4 color CCD camera with 4 mm lens is designed for use with the PMCQ14A 14-inch color quad monitor.
A mini-DIN 6 connector in the back of the camera matches the connector on the back of the monitor. Power, alarm, audio and video
contacts are all provided at this connector.

INSTALLATION

NO STAPLES
NO SHARP BENDS
• Do not locate components or cable where they will get wet.
• Lay cable loosely in attic or under floor.
• Do not tightly bundle with other wires.
• Avoid sharp bends in the cable.
• Do not directly staple the cable to any surface.
• Try to locate cable away from power lines and fluorescent fixtures.
• If a power line or fixture is in the way, take the cable across it at right angles.
• Do not run cables parallel to fixtures or power lines.

• The cable is 60 feet long. Do not try to shorten it.
• Extra cable should be spread out serpentine style.

INSTALLING THE CAMERA
1. Assemble and mount the camera and bracket.

NOTE: The screws provided are intended for wood. If it is necessary to substitute
screws for masonry or hollow wall mounting, be sure to use #6 or 4 mm hardware.

3. Connect cable to camera. Insert plug with the arrow facing up.
4. Connect alarm contacts, if used.

5. Connect cable to one of the CH IN jacks on the back of the monitor
(refer to Figure 1).

6. Set impedance switch to the 75-ohm position,unless another video
device is connected to the IN/OUT jacks (refer to Figure 1).

7. Connect AC power to monitor (refer to Figure 1).
8. Turn on MAIN switch on the back of the monitor (refer to Figure 1). Then press the POWER button on the front of the monitor.
9. Test according to the checkout procedure in Table A.

CHECKOUT
Table A. Checkout Procedure When Adding a Camera to the System
This procedure assumes that power is on and that the full monitor checkout has been performed.

Calibrate camera.
RESULTS

The CCQ1400A-4 camera is factory set for back focus.
No further calibration is needed.

At the monitor, press the CH button for the channel
the new camera is using.
See camera image full screen.
Press the ZOOM/FREEZE button.
Use arrow keys to move the highlighted area.
Press the QUAD/MENU button.
Zoom area is highlighted in the center of the screen.
The highlighted area moves to different parts of the screen.
The image zooms to show the selected area full screen.
See the selected channel image full screen (normal).
Press the QUAD/MENU or the ZOOM/FREEZE button.

Put an object in the area being observed by the
camera.
While holding the RESET/ALT button, press the
ZOOM/FREEZE button.
Remove the object from the observed area.
Press the ALT + FREEZE button.
See the object on the screen. Any movement will be seen.
See the object frozen on the screen. No movement will be
seen.
The object remains on the screen.
The object disappears and movement is once again seen.
Perform this step if the camera is equipped for the
audio function.
Have a person stand near the camera and speak.
Increase the volume control on the monitor,
if necessary.
Hear the person at the camera speaking.
Press and hold the AUDIO/TALK button on the
monitor.
Talk in a normal voice.
The person at the camera should hear you.
Release the AUDIO/TALK button.
Hear the person or other sounds near the camera.

Perform this step if the alarm contacts are
connected to a detection switch.
Momentarily activate the alarm contacts.
Press the RESET button on the front of the monitor.
ALM flashes at the top of the monitor screen.
ALM goes away.
Checkout is complete.

PRODUCT WARRANTY AND RETURN INFORMATION
WARRANTY
Pelco will repair or replace, without charge, any merchandise proved defective in material or
workmanship for a period of one year after the date of shipment.
If
a
warranty repair is required, the Dealer must contact Pelco at (800) 289-9100 or
(559) 292-1981 to obtain a Repair Authorization number (RA), and provide the following
information:

If there is a dispute regarding the warranty of a product which does not fall under the

Three years on Camclosure® and fixed camera models, except the CC3701H-2,
CC3701H-2X, CC3751H-2, CC3651H-2X, MC3651H-2, and MC3651H-2X camera models,
which have a five-year warranty.
Method of return shipment shall be the same or equal to the method by which the item was
received by Pelco.

Two years on Legacy®, CM6700/CM6800/CM9700 Series matrix, and DF5/DF8 Series
fixed dome products.
RETURNS
In order to expedite parts returned to the factory for repair or credit, please call the factory at
(800) 289-9100 or (559) 292-1981 to obtain an authorization number (CA number if returned
for credit, and RA number if returned for repair).

Two years on Spectra®, Esprit®, ExSite™, and PS20 scanners, including when used in
continuous motion applications.

Two years on Esprit® and WW5700 Series window wiper (excluding wiper blades).
All merchandise returned for credit may be subject to a 20% restocking and refurbishing
charge.
Eighteen months on DX Series digital video recorders, NVR300 Series network video
recorders, and Endura™ Series distributed network-based video products.
Goods returned for repair or credit should be clearly identified with the assigned CA or RA
number and freight should be prepaid. Ship to the appropriate address below.

One year (except video heads) on video cassette recorders (VCRs). Video heads will be
covered for a period of six months.

Pelco will warrant all replacement parts and repairs for 90 days from the date of Pelco
shipment. All goods requiring warranty repair shall be sent freight prepaid to Pelco, Clovis,
California. Repairs made necessary by reason of misuse, alteration, normal wear, or accident
are not covered under this warranty.
If you are located outside the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico and are
instructed to return goods to the USA, you may do one of the following:

Pelco assumes no risk and shall be subject to no liability for damages or loss resulting from
the specific use or application made of the Products. Pelco’s liability for any claim, whether

such Products. In no event will Pelco be liable for any special, incidental or consequential
damages (including loss of use, loss of profit and claims of third parties) however caused,
