| OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS   MANUAL DE INSTRUCCIONES   MODE D’EMPLOI   CDC-X927M   YUC   STEREO CAR CD RECEIVER   RADIO-TOCADISCOS DE CD ESTEREOFONICO PARA   AUTOMOVIL   ENGLISH   ESPAÑOL   FRANÇAIS   OWNER’S RECORD   For your convenience, record the model number and   serial number (you will find them on the bottom side of   your set) in the space provided below. Please refer to   them when you contact your AIWA dealer in case of   difficulty.   Model No. CDC-X927M   Serial No.   8C-KC4-901-01   020131ATM-OX   Adjusting the volume   THEFT PROTECTION   (Retractable Front Panel)   1 Turn AUDIO CONTROL.   When your car’s ignition switch is turned off, the front   panel will be retracted automatically as if there were no   car audio in the console.   When the ignition switch is set to ACC or ON position,   the front panel will appear automatically.   VOL (volume) indication appears.   Muting the sound   1 Press PWR/MUTE briefly.   MUTE indicator flashes.   To restore volume, briefly press PWR/MUTE again.   Note   Do not touch and put excessive pressure on the front   panel while it is rotating.   Adjusting sound   You can select the following modes for adjusting sound   depending on the music you listen to: BASS (low   frequencies), TRE (high frequencies), BAL (left/right),   FAD (front/rear), H-BASS (high bass)*, DSSA (Drivers   Sound Stage Adjustment)** and BBE***.   BASIC OPERATION,   AUDIO AND CLOCK   ADJUSTMENT   * You can reinforce the bass sound.   ** Youcanadjustsoundstageandtonebalancetobest   serve a particular seat in the car.   AUDIO CONTROL   TUNE   EJECT   *** Youcanenhancetheclarityofhigh-frequencysound.   1 Press SEL repeatedly to select the mode to be   adjusted.   Pressing SEL cycles through the modes. The   selected mode’s indicator appears.   Turn AUDIO CONTROL to increase or decrease   the level for the selected mode (except for H-BASS,   DSSA and BBE).   SEL DISP   PWR/MUTE BAND   SRC   2 InH-BASSmode, turnAUDIOCONTROL toselect   1, 2, 3, or OFF.   In DSSA mode, turn AUDIO CONTROL to select L   (for the front left seat), R (for the front right seat), or   OFF.   Turning the unit on/off   • You can turn the unit on by pressing any button on the   front panel except z. The unit also turns on when you   press z and insert a CD.   • Press and hold PWR/MUTE until the unit turns off.   In BBE mode, turn AUDIO CONTROL to select 1,   2, or OFF.   Note   Notes   Most operations described in this manual require   theunittobeturnedonbeforestartingtheoperation,   unless explicitly stated otherwise.   • Adjust the level or select an item within 5 seconds, or   the selected mode will return to previous state.   • WhenDSSAisactivated,youcannotadjustBAL,FAD,   BASS, TRE and BBE.   • When BBE sound is activated, you cannot adjust   BASS and TRE.   Changing the source mode   1 Press SRC.   Pressing SRC cycles through source modes in the   following order:   Aligning the source levels   (Source Level Adjuster)   Volume may vary each time you change the source   mode. In this case, you can align each source mode’s   volume to almost the same level.   * To select another bands, press BAND to select F2,   F3, A1, A2, while “F1” is displayed.   1 2 PressSRCrepeatedlytoselectthedesiredmode.   Press DISP while pressing SEL.   ** “DISC” does not appear on the display when there is   no CD in the unit.   ***CD Changer Play mode (available when an optional   CD Changer is connected)   “LEVEL 0” appears on the display.   3 Turn AUDIO CONTROL to adjust the level.   Note   Adjust the level within 5 seconds, or this function will be   canceled.   ENGLISH 2   1 2 Press BAND repeatedly to select the desired band   (F1, F2, F3, A1 or A2).   Restoring the factory settings   1 2 Turn off the unit.   Press TUNEi (to move to higher frequencies) or   TUNEk (to move to lower frequencies) to tune in to   a station.   PressandholdDISPuntil“LEVEL--”appearsonthe   display.   “ST” appears on the display when an FM station is   broadcasting in stereo, and receiving conditions are   good.   Seek Tuning and Manual Tuning   • Press and hold TUNEi or TUNEk until Seek   Tuning starts.   Note   YoucanrestorethefactorysettingsonlyforVOL,BASS,   TRE, BAL, FAD, H-BASS, DSSA and BBE as well as   aligned source volume levels.   The unit locates a station automatically (Seek   Tuning).   Setting the beep tone   1 2 Turn off the unit.   • Press   iorTUNEkrepeatedlytosearchfor   TUNE   Press and hold SEL until “BEEP” appears on the   display.   a desired station while increasing or decreasing   the frequency step by step (Manual Tuning).   To stop Seek Tuning, press TUNEi or TUNEk   again.   3 4 TurnAUDIOCONTROLtoselect“ON”or“OFF”.   Press SEL.   The unit turns off.   Monaural mode   When FM signals become weak, or FM reception   becomes poor, the unit automatically switches to   Monaural mode to reduce noise.   Setting the clock   1 2 3 Press and hold DISP until the clock indicator   flashes on the display.   Note   Press TUNEi (to set hour) or TUNEk (to set   minute) and turn AUDIO CONTROL.   Press DISP.   When stereo sound is received, you can also press ST   and select “MONO ON” to listen in manaural mode.   To resume stereo sound receiving, press ST to “MONO   OFF”.   Displaying the clock   Local mode   Local mode allows you to tune in only to strong stations   during Seek Tuning.   1 Press DISP.   To return to the former display, press DISP again.   1 Press LO before you start seek tuning.   “LO” appears on the display.   To return to Distant mode, press LO again.   “LO” disappears and the unit tunes in to all receivable   stations.   RADIO OPERATION   Tuning in to a station   (Seek/Manual Tuning)   Using preset stations   You must preset stations before you can tune in to a   station using preset station indication   * “F” means FM, and “A” means AM.   3 ENGLISH   Presetting stations automatically   (Auto Memory)   CD PLAYER OPERATION   Playing a CD   1 Press BAND repeatedly to select the desired band   (F1, F2, F3, A1 or A2).   You can play CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs using the   procedure described below.   2 Press and hold PS/A.ME until automatic presetting   starts. “A MEM” appears on the display.   The unit automatically stores up to 6 stations for   each band.   EJECT   After completion of automatic presetting, the unit   tunes in to all the stations stored on the preset   station buttons in order (Preset Scan).   Tocancelautomaticpresetting,pressPS/A.MEagain.   INT   RNDM   REP1   SRC   Checking the preset stations (Preset Scan)   1 Press PS/A.ME briefly.   Each preset station will be tuned in for 5 seconds in   order.   1 2 Press z to open the front panel.   Insert a CD.   To cancel Preset Scan, press PS/A.ME again or any   preset station button.   The front panel will be closed automatically and   “CD” appears on the display.   CD play starts.   If a CD is already inserted, press SRC repeatedly to   select CD play mode.   In normal play, when the last track finishes, the unit   returns to the first track and continues to play.   Presetting stations manually   (Manual Memory)   1 2 3 Press BAND repeatedly to select the desired band   (F1, F2, F3, A1 or A2).   Press TUNEi or TUNEk to tune in to a desired   station (see “Tuning in to a station,” page 3).   Pressandholdthedesiredpresetstationbuttonuntil   the unit beeps.   Labeled-side up   Note   A newly preset station replaces the station on the same   band that was previously stored on that preset station   button.   CD indicator   Elapsed playing time   Tuning in to a preset station   1 2 Press BAND repeatedly to select the desired band   (F1, F2, F3, A1 or A2).   Track number   Press the preset station button on which the desired   station is stored.   To   Press   z*   Eject a CD   Skip to the next track   t r Active tuning reception control (ATRC)   The unit automatically suppresses FM noise caused by   vehicle movement, and maintains sound quality.   Go back to the beginning   of the current track   Each extra press skips   backward one extra track   Locate a specific point in Press and hold r or   a track   t until you find the   point.   * When you remove the CD, the front panel will be   closed automatically after a while.   To close the front panel manually, press z while the   front panel is open.   ENGLISH 4   1 2 Connectacassette/MD/MP3portableplayerorother   equipment via the unit’s AUX IN jack (3.5 mm dia.).   PressSRCrepeatedlyuntil“AUXIN”appearsonthe   display.   Notes   • When you play a CD that is already inserted, CD play   starts at the point where it stopped the previous time.   A newly inserted CD starts from the first track.   • A CD-R or CD-RW may take some time to start playing   back, but this is not a malfunction.   Note   WhenaconnectingcordispluggedintotheAUXINjack,   you cannot insert or eject a CD even if you press z. Be   sure to disconnect the cord before inserting or ejecting   the CD. Likewise, be sure to disconnect it before you   turn off the ignition switch, otherwise the front panel   won’t be retracted.   • If a CD-R or CD-RW with no data or incompatible data   is inserted, “ERROR03” will appear on the display.   (See the section “TROUBLESHOOTING”.) The unit   cannot play such discs.   Intro Play   You can locate a desired track by monitoring the first 10   seconds of all the tracks on a CD.   1 Press INT during CD play.   “SCAN” appears on the display.   OTHER FUNCTIONS   2 Press INT again when the desired track is played.   The unit returns to normal CD play.   AUDIO CONTROL   TUNE   One Track Repeat Play   You can play a track repeatedly.   1 Press REP1 during CD play.   “REP1” appears on the display.   To cancel One Track Repeat Play, press REP1 again.   SEL   SRC   Random Play   You can play all the tracks in random order.   Changing the display contrast   1 Press RNDM during CD play.   “RANDOM” appears on the display.   1 2 Press and hold SRC until “CONT.” appears on the   display.   To cancel Random Play, press RNDM again.   Turn AUDIO CONTROL to adjust the contrast.   Note   During Random Play, pressing r allows you to skip   only to the beginning of the current track, not to the   previous track.   Changing the key illumination color   Youcanchooseblueorredasthekeyilluminationcolor.   1 2 3 Press and hold SRC until “CONT.” appears on the   display.   PressTUNEi or TUNEk until “ILL” appears on the   display.   AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT   Turn AUDIO CONTROL to select 1 (for blue) or 2   (for red).   Listening to a cassette/MD/MP3   portable player or other equipment   Setting the dimmer of the display   Youcanlistentomusicthroughequipmentconnectedto   the unit. Follow the suggestions below to   solve such problems.
