2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Carefully read these safety precautions before using your air conditioner.
These precautions must be taken at all times.
Keep this document for future reference.
- Unit must be supervised in presence of children or anybody unfamiliar with it.
- Do not hang or place any clothing or other objects on the unit.
- Do not place any obstacles in front of the unit.
- This device must be installed according to the national electrical code.
- Never spill any liquid into the unit. If this should accidentally happen, turn off the electrical circuit breaker used for your
air conditioner and contact your installation specialist.
- Do not insert anything between the airflow blades to avoid any damage to the inner fan and to avoid possible harm.
- If the remote control is not used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent leakage of electrolyte.
- Any damaged electrical component should be replaced by a certified HVAC technician.
- Users of this appliance are warned NOT TO ATTEMPT ANY REPAIRS on this product, doing so is at their own risk.
Instead, they are requested to contact a certified HVAC technician or the outlet at which the product was purchased.
Caution:
The manufacturer does not take any responsibility for any damage or injuries caused by inadequate
installation. An accident may occur if the installation is not executed as instructed in the installation
manual. If you experience any difficulty during the installation, you must contact a cerified HVAC
technician, a designated service center or the outlet at which the product was purchased.

3. ELECTRICAL SAFETY: Please read carefully!
GROUNDING
- For personal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded.
- The appliance’s power cord is equipped with a three-prong (grounding) plug that mates with a standard three-prong
(grounding) wall outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock.
- Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure that the outlet is properly grounded.
- If you encounter a two-prong wall outlet, it is your personal responsibility and obligation to have it replaced with a
properly grounded three-prong wall outlet.
- DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, CUT OR REMOVE THE THIRD (GROUND) PRONG FROM THE POWER CORD.
HANDLING THE CORD
- Never use the electrical power cord to turn the unit on or off.
- Grasp the plug to remove the cord from the outlet. Never pull on the cord to remove the plug from the outlet.
USE OF EXTENSION CORD NOT RECOMMENDED
Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions, we strongly recommend that you don’t use an extension
cord. However, if you do choose to use an extension cord, it has to be a UL-listed, 3-wire, grounding, appliance exten-
sion cord with a grounding plug (to be used with only a corresponding outlet) and that the electrical rating of the cord is
20 amperes (minimum) and 120 volts.
TO REDUCE RISKS
- To reduce risks of fire or electrical shock, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.
- Do not open the cabinet while the unit is connected to a power source. Dangerous voltage is present.
- Have repairs performed by a certified HVAC technician.

8. CONDENSATED WATER DRAINAGE
In cooling or in dehumidifying modes, condensate water will accumulate in an internal water tank. When the water attains
a predetermined level, the water pump will automatically activate and pump the water outside through the draining tube
located in the exhaust hose. Refer to the maintenance and installation manual for more information on the
installation of the draining tube through the included adjustable window panels.
This unit also has provisions for a continuous “drain” option (for basement applications having a floor drain). The required
drain hose extension is not included with this unit. It can be purchased through any local Hardware Store.
For continuous direct drain operation, unscrew the drain cap at the back of the cabinet. Attach suitable length of garden
hose to the direct drain fitting. Do not over tighten. Position the open end of the drain hose as close as possible to the floor
drain. Check the hose connection for leaks.
Note: Direct drain operation is intended for floor drain applications only. Direct drain operation should not be used a stand
pipe and/or sink applications.

16. CLEANING
IMPORTANT
Shutting down the display screen
Pressing down on the FAN SPEED and SWEEP buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds. To unlock, simply repeat the
same procedure.
- Before cleaning your air conditioner, make sure that you have turned the unit off and then unplugged it.
- To obtain the best possible results from your air conditioner, clean it regularly, removing any dust that has accumulated
in the air filters or on the condenser coils.
- If you have not used the air conditioner for a long period of time, run the fan for 3 or 4 hours to thoroughly dry the inside
of the air conditioner.
- Do not clean the unit’s surface with thinners, alcohol, polishers, alkaline detergents, acid, or an abrasive brush. Such
items could scratch and damage the finish.
To clean the air filters
1. Open the front grid by lifting the tabs on the lower right and left sides of the unit. Raise the front grid until it snaps tight
in an open position.
2. Remove the air filters.
3. Remove all dust from the air filters with a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush, or wash them with warm water. (Do not use
benzene, solvents, or other chemicals.)
4. When you have finished, put the air filters back into the unit and close the front grid.
Note:
Failure to keep air filters clean will result in poor air circulation. Do not operate the air conditioner without its filters. Dirt
and lint will clog the evaporator surface, reduce airflow, and possibly cause ice to form, reducing the unit’s cooling capacity.
To clean the condenser coils
Press on the three snaps located on the lower rear side of the unit and open the door to access the condenser coils.
Gently clean the coils with a soft-bristled brush.
Note:
Dirty condenser coils will increase condensing pressure and may result in high power consumption. Moreover, the
high-pressure safety control may be activated, causing the system to shut down.

18. TIPS FOR SAVING ENERGY
- Keep air filters clean.
- Do not allow the room to get too hot. Whenever possible, turn the unit on before the room heats up. When heat is
“stored” in walls, furniture, rugs, or draperies, the air conditioner takes longer to produce the desired level of comfort.
- Keep windows and doors closed. Cool, dry air escapes when they are open.
- Keep furnace floor registers and cold air returns closed. Cold air can easily escape through them.
- Do not let drapes or furniture block the front of the unit, where they can restrict airflow when it is operating.
- It is best to operate your air conditioner at high speed during extremely hot weather.
- Keep condenser coils clean.
- Turn the air conditioner off if you do not expect to use it for an extended period of time.
